Second Sep7agon Pokemon Tournament

It's been almost 3 months since the last tournament and I felt like it's time for a new one. I very much enjoyed the last one, so I expect to enjoy this one as well.

Where?: http://pokemonshowdown.com/ If you and your opponent really want to, you may battle on cartridge. Just make sure to save the replays and post the code to them here.

Why Pokemon Showdown?: The best part about it is that you don't need to own a copy of the game on 3DS in order to play. Also, you are able to watch the battles live and it creates a fun social aspect. If there is enough people online at the time of a battle, we could even get a huge Skype call going on.

When?: You have until May 8th to get your battles in.

Rules:

• OU tier: however, you are welcome to use any Pokemon that are of a lower tier
• Round Robin
• Best 2 out of 3: you get one point for each battle you win,which means that winning the set will yield you two points total
• Fluid teams: you may change your team after completing a set
• Provide proof of your victory: after a match, the winner must save the replay and post the link to this thread

No reason not to download a good game for free.

Personally, I'd very much prefer for it to take place on the cartridge this time. The experience is overall better compared to a simulator. The only downside is that other people can't watch the battle live and accessing the battle replay requires inputting a code. What's good about simulators is that even those who don't own a copy or XY/ORAS can still take part in the tournament and other players can watch battles live.

As for the rules, Smogon rules or just some rules are what I would prefer. No rules would just end up with people using cheap strategies such as putting all the opposing Pokemon to sleep.

I must've spent thousands of hours playing this game as a kid since I had played it for about 4-5 years, it was just so fun and addicting. This is one game that I will never forget since it was a huge part of my childhood.

I've been told that picture threads/user galleries have been made in the past, but they quickly fall to the bottom and newer members, such as myself, miss out on seeing what everybody else looks like. We should have a Sticky in the Flood where the OP contains one picture of each member after they post it and will be updated when a member not currently in the OP posts one. I'll take responsibility for creating/updating the thread if nobody else will.
