But... Camnator can't be banned. He made this place home. What about some of the other big players from way back when? I remember Officer Nasty, long face, edableshoe, Vien, luke and the like all being pretty cook cats.

Meant to say cool cats, but I'll keep the typo.
Camnator ran himself into the silliest of corners and it all ended rather badly, bit of a shame but he sort of just lost it.

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure we gave him a couple of extra chances but they didn't turn out well.

Nasty and Vien still frequent here, luke appears from time to time and longface did but I think he's moving on. Don't think we saw edableshoe though or at least not for a long time.

I know this is a joke thread but fuck historical accuracy

idc if the world was shitty in WWI and there were no black or female soldiers, it's 2016 and current games depicting that time period shouldn't be that way
Some people actually play WW1 and WW2 games for the recreation of historical battles. If you think a game needs to have black people or females so as to not be misogynist or sexist, you need to get your priorities straight.

To be fair, they could have the British Commonwealth soldiers (Sikhs, Indians, and Pakistanis), the French-Algerians, etc fighting in the Mediterranean and the Eastern battlefields.

Whether they choose to include them and put the extra work in involved is an entirely different matter.
Our commonwealthers fought in europe too, they just didn't get much recognition for that (really any). People remember the anzacs and Gallipoli but outside of that it's barely known.

They weren't the main force of the allies but they were certainly there in numbers worth counting.

Things are pretty much the same way they always have been, maybe a bit more relaxed because everyone has fought it out and pretty much hit some sort of understanding with one another.

I can't really remember the last time the mods had to step in to break up a fight at least.

Like I've told you guys before, whe German armies have always been super progressive with the inclusion of non-straight white males in their service, even under Hitler they let Slavs fight for them, and gave women  uniforms.
it's 1945 man come on
children have as much right to fight for their homes as any mensch
True that. Thirteen year olds happily fought on the Ostfront

So if a game was set during Ancient Egypt, according to your standards, I should also expect straight white male representation in said game too?

Wasn't a fan of the whole stunlocking thing that certain guns seem to do, makes diving into cover almost impossible even at a distance.

It's like they wanted to get rid of strafing and ducking for cover.  Sure, it's more realistic to get picked off while you're running, but it diminishes skill, adds frustration when you die like that, and lessens the value of a kill. I don't see who wins with that.  The people complaining about netcode, I guess?
Yeah it's pretty annoying but I guess we'll see if that's a full game feature or not.

What's the penalty for leaving a game? I feel like it isn't harsh enough, people do it left and right. Out of my last six comp matches, two were draws, two had people quit right out of the gate, and two had people leave after losing the first objective.
I think first is grace, second is 10 mins, then 30 then an hour then 7 hours then a day then week/perma

I don't know for certain but that's what one fellow i was playing with said his bantime looked like (got a little satly)

The community generally isn't that bad, but fucking hell there's a lot of toxicity and cancer here. So many mad and butthurt people everywhere. From people refusing to play because someone else picked the "wrong" support hero (happened last night in competitive even), to constant flaming and raging on teammates and opponents for whatever petty reason.

Also, it's still a shame how broken the MVP ticket system is. 4 gold medals (eliminations, damage, objective time and objective kills) and 34k damage as Roadhog in competitive. Ticket I get? 57% hook accuracy. Not that it really matters, but it's a disappointing feeling to then see the Lucio get an epic for doing a few K in healing when no one gives a single point to you because all they see is >hook accuracy.
It can be pretty frustrating when people pick the wrong hero for the mode/map but asking them nicely works better than the whole

GOD YOU PICKED FUCKING TORBJORN YOU CUNT LOL GTFO AHAHAHAHA I QUIT
routine

The only players I've seen that are more consistently toxic than non-toxic are Genji masters, pretty much the most arrogant sons of bitches you will find online even when they aren't doing it intentionally.

The game revolves around them and their dragonblade and hang the rest of the team.

So when you find a genji who isn't a chode-yodeller it's always a pleasant surprise.

Hopefully this doesn't just turn into a tech demo like Battlefront EA

Did they revert Conquest back to tickets?
Something like that

Nobody has seen the exact way it plays but it's been changed from the beta version to be more like old CQ

In terms of netcode/bugs, I highly doubt this game will have the problems BF4 had at launch.  Betting that DICE LA gave this game a lot of love and even EA probably wanted to take the time to make this perfect.

Still had a huge problem with this game's time to kill.  I thought Hardline's was too fast, and this feels like double that.

No Mans Sky ended up making my cancel my pre-order for this and Gears 4 as well. I'm going to wait and see what the game launches with so I don't get screwed again. I'm hoping this game launches with a decent amount off content, unlike Battlefront which 99% of the maps are DLC.
Yeah that's fair enough

We've got 9 maps at launch and a 10th coming free in Nov/Dec, gametypes from the top of my head are Rush, CQ, Operations, Pigeon Wars, Domination and something else that I forgot.

Only a few weeks until Battlefield 1 releases now, even less if you buy into EA's stupid EA Access scheme to play 10 whole hours of the game before launch (lol).

EA being EA aside, the game is looking like something special. Where else can you remove kebab as the glorious british empire? e.e

I'll put BF1 videos and news in here but this isn't some megathread type of deal, this is actually an anti-megathread to prevent one being made in the first place. I'll also be putting the BF1 server details in here when it goes live and we rent one out.

This video goes over the details of a new gamemode and the names/themes of the maps in the game.

Pity it cuts off the last kill but still, quite pleased with what could have gone horribly wrong.

What? That's not really his brother is it?

It is. He was at the Convention earlier this year, as a delegate for Democrats abroad.
How is this legal

Which part? Being a delegate or running for office in the UK?
Surely someone eligible to be a delegate in the US wouldn't be eligible to run in the UK

I'm not too sure what the Brits require to run for office.
You just have to be a citizen of the empire commonwealth and that's about it.

You can become a citizen laughably easily in bongistan too.

We played against a team with two of the top 500s i think (120 and 250ish on their plate) and we kicked their shit in so hard that two left mid-match and they all left as soon as the match complete splash played.

Then we ran up against an absolute shitbucket who carried the other team with tracer and mcree, that was not so fun.
