I'm going to be that person but it's sad that this game is the exact same concept as the 1918 mod for BF 1942. They're both nothing more than texture packs with tweaked gameplay. 1918 plays like a different game but it's still a mod for 1942. This game is just a cops and rubbers skin for BF4 just like how 1918 have different skins for the things in 1942.

There is quite a bit more to it than that, there are a lot of unique assets that have been created for the game, not just textures painted over BF4 stuff. Shit like leaning out of vehicles or your aim being steady whilst doing so isn't a BF4 thing. The full release is a lot more than just a reskin, which is what the original alpha/beta thing was back in 2014 summer.

Gaming / A shitbucket's view on Battlefield Hardline

This post was sponsored by EA Ronku as a part of the forum shill and misdirection program. Preorder Hardline or I'll kill this baby. Oh uh... buy it even. The baby is dead anyway.

So!

Hardline arrived in the post this morning and I can say without shame that I've spent the last 12 hours playing it pretty much non-stop. I thought I'd just post my honest two cents about the game here because raisins (EA Shill).

Singleplayer
I wasn't expecting their 'episodic story' to be quite so literal <.<
You've got 10 episodes to play through, a bit like a season of CSI but where michael bay and rambo are teaming up with solid snake. It's got a few mildly amusing jokes and some vaguely recognisable actors (That republican majority leader from HoC for examplé)
The plotwists so far have all been as clear as can be but maybe that's because I've watched a lot of cop shows (who hasn't though?) but altogether it's interesting enough. The stealth mode is kind of lackluster for me, but ehh I can see the appeal as I think it's done fairly well. I'm just more of a 'kill em all and let god sort em out' person >_>
You get a lot more customisation than in the BF4 story, by fucking miles. None of this predetermined bollocks.
One thing I've noticed is that the lip synching is subpar and occasionally they are talking straight up by telepathy.

Multiplayer
Chaotic clusterfuck of the best kind.
I thought the higher TTK would make it very shit, but it feels fairly similar to BF4 honestly. You can shoot a guy and he'll die quickly enough but of course the PDW rape train has no breaks.
RPGs are so stronk it's not even funny, I think brute mentioned this but yeah you can spawn with them and basically just fuck up an entire round of hotwire solo.
I haven't seen the M16a3 as much as I'd feared, which is good because you should ram it up your urethra if you shitbucket with it like lelvelcap. Use a real man's gun, like the zipline.
Battlepacks are better but also worse, they broke one of the values I think for the boost ratio as I've opened about 20 today and not a single attachment voucher. So I hope that gets fixed.

General thoughts
It's a very fun game, the extra time they took to make it has paid off and the game is an absolute blast. It's pretty newb friendly too and is a much more casual shooter than BF4 so the two kind of complement each other nicely. You have a crazy shooter with lots of splosions but without the CodKids and you have a large scale war game that's in the middle ground between CKs and Armafegs <_<

overall I r8 it 9/11 so far.
Allah Akbar.

Probably Transhumanism, not everyone takes kindly to the revelation that walking sacks of meat are inferior vessels for the mind.
but what about the hedonic treadmill

will we ever truly be satisfied, even if trashumanism becomes a reality?
I hope not <.<

We can always be better, not being satisfied is what drives the species to improve >.>
If we last long enough, we'll (the species) hopefully achieve apotheosis <_____<

Probably Transhumanism, not everyone takes kindly to the revelation that walking sacks of meat are inferior vessels for the mind.
being someone who has a belief that is predicated under the notion that the human condition is utter shit and can only produce pain and suffering at the end of the day for no real gain, it does sound like a philosophy that could make friends with efilism

if only i could get past the personal hurdle of me not wanting anything man-made to be a part of my physiology--at all
Well it depends a little on where you stand with it, transhumanism encompasses a variety of stances afaik. You have the roboticists who want to improve the body with augmentations and the like, then you have the geneticists who want to improve it at birth with genetic engineering/eugenics etc and you also have ones that are a bit less down to earth and I tend not to pay too much attention to the spiritualist stuff.

At it's core it's about improving the human condition and making life better for the species/individual. Becoming something better than a traditional human, either in mind/mentality or in physicality.

I'd just point out, what is the usual reaction to a convicted rapist?

Warmth? Cordial conversations and inviting them into your house for a cup of tea?

Or disgust at them being a piece of shit?

I'd hazard a guess at most people going for the latter of the two, hell I could go and dig up that study about 'psychological purity of items' that shows people are uncomfortable touching objects that were recently touched by either murderers or rapists <.<

But no, raep is all okay because people make jokes about it. Same as murdering babies and turning them into salsa is halal because there are jokes about it.

Yay!

Nah this one is halal enough because the solar eclipse is starting shortly <.<

My sympathies zesty, I only have a pair of sunglasses to hand so I'm just going to have to look at the shit around the eclipse rather than right at it like a retart.
Your eyes are strong enough; just stare at the sun, I mean, why not? You do realize that it's like the sun's normal power, but reduced by 90%, right? Seriously, the damages would be minor if not nonexistent.
lol

I'm a cautious fellow and I value my eyes pretty much more than any other sense I have, so I'm not going to risk them to get a look at a pretty eclipse. My aunt (I think it was her, might have been another relative) has had to have eye surgery because of solar burns on the back of the eye. I'd rather not have to have someone play Dead Space on my eyeballs if I can avoid it.

PSYOPs is easily one of the best tactics we have against insurgency. The Battle of Fallujah is an awesome, and sometimes hilarious, example. Prior to the invasion, they used flares and loudspeakers at night to prevent the insurgents from sleeping. To lure insurgents out, they played mocking messages ("you fight like girls", laughter, etc.) over loudspeakers; anyone that stepped outside was shot immediately by snipers. They played fake insurgent calls for surrender to get them to lay down their guns (and then they'd be shot), white phosphorous attacks to demoralize fighters, etc.

white phosphorous attacks to demoralize fighters
I know it's effective as all hell, but I really don't think we should still be using that stuff >_>

It undermines the whole 'We are right' stance when it comes to looking for WMDs and giving other countries shit for chemical weapons stockpiles when NATO/USA(UK?) uses WP like that.

It's not actually classified as a chemical weapon but as an incendiary. It was used to drive out insurgents from fortified positions that their artillery couldn't penetrate. I'm not a particular fan of its use but it does have legitimate applications, grisly though they might be.
Ah I see, well it's still damn near the nastiest stuff that is 'legal' in warfare (That I can think of) <.<

i don't know why you're so worried

doesn't the uk just forgive your loan if you don't pay it off after a certain period of time?

Yeah, 30 years after you've graduated. So basically if you have been stuck in a minimum wage job for 3 decades after getting a degree, the debt is probably the least of your concerns >_>

(You don't have to pay anything back until you are earning a decent bite above minimum wage iirc)
