I've heard the campaign beyond the tank mission is kind of meh.

Spoiler
apparently the Gallipoli mission skips the beach landing for some fucking reason, the plane controls are crap and changed from multiplayer, the two ottoman missions are literally on the Sinai Desert map but one's at night and they're all really short.
The plane story is pretty shit unless you like being a flyboy, then you might enjoy it.

The gallipoli one doesn't do the beachhead, which is kinda sensible imo otherwise it'd be like the very first mission. You die. You die. You die. You die. You die. You die. etc, but it does follow what happens after the beachhead has been forced and it's really quite good.

I finished the series a week or so ago actually

It was some good shit, it seemed like there ought to have been another book about the
Spoiler
Descoladores
unless that's what the shadow ones are about.

the shadow books follow bean and are mainly centered around peters rise to power.
Oh

So they just leave that plotline unfinished?

No, the descolada is the mystery behind the Speaker for the Dead series, including Xenocide and Children of the Mind.
I know, I mean the
Spoiler
Descoladores, as in the race/species/xenos that made the virus in the first place
It was left a bit open at the end, they started trying to
Spoiler
talk to them but it didn't go anywhere before the book ended

Oh, yeah. Shadows Alive is supposed to the Bean and Ender's story together, but who knows how that will work given
Spoiler
that both characters are dead at this point.
Yeah, unless that means
Spoiler
Peter 2.0 by a bit of mental gymnastics

Peter and Val coming back was a bit out there for me, so I'm hoping that won't be used to just magically reunite Ender and Bean. Have you read Shadows in Flight? Apparently I read some weird abridged version of it, but I thought it was just garbage.
It did get a little spehss magicky towards the end with some pretty convenient resolutions of things but the more interesting stuff wasn't so much the direct plot but the things happening around it.

Things like Path and the Godspoken for example

Tbh I'm kind of getting burned out. Too many players with no sense of team composition or cooperation. Too many 12 year olds that play Hanzo or Widow on offense. Too many teams of 4 offense characters and no willingness to go healer or tank. It's a little better in competitive, but not by much.
Pretty much

I find quickplay 10x more infuriating than competitive because of the catfish everywhere. I mean it's fun if you are just pissing around but that gets old fairly quickly.

Only liberal shitholes support Hillary. I'm proud Finland and Russia are supporting Trump.
Trumpets will believe anything to not realize Trump is only hurting himself. He could have easily won if he'd not be an idiot.
trumpets is really lame think of a better word
Chumps
Trumplings
Trumplodytes

whichever sounds more condescending
I like Chumps, it's going that extra mile for the rhyming bants instead of making a meh tier pun

As for MP, haven't really played enough to give a proper opinion but I like it and it was fun playing even if a few things made me ree.

How much hard drive space you need on Xbox?
Think it was about 44gb so maybe 50gb total?

What made you ree my boy
Mostly that they didn't scrap the garbage tier squad join system, so it just sets a random squad leader and requires everyone to actively join instead of passive-joining a group.

Pretty stupid but nothing game ruining

If you focus on a blank wall, can you see them in ordinary daylight?
actually, now that i look, i do experience it in daylight, though not as pronounced as in the dark
then that sounds like visual snow
the thing is, i have this sort of reverse tinnitus, where every now and then (usually at night when i'm trying to sleep, which only amplifies its annoyance) i get this low-pitched hum in one ear, instead of the high-pitched ringing usually associated with tinnitus

it hasn't been a problem lately, though
It's not to do with wax buildup is it?

It could also be an odd presentation of tinnitus mind you, I don't know much about it beyond occasionally hearing EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE and in dead silence hearing an eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee sort of noise.

Seems similar to cataracts.
Maybe, but all eyetests don't actually detect any anomalies in a person reporting this condition (they'll pick up other stuff of course) but so far nothing has detected it as a physical presence as such.

http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/head.12378/full

The study seemed to link it to a migraine aura but acknowledged that it could simply be that migraine aura aggravates the condition which pushes people towards volunteering to participate.

Looks like what I see in low light, sorta grainy.

...now that I focus on my sight... I can kinda see it. It's not that pronounced as the gif, it's not easily noticeable. Might be worth mentioning I get tinnitus after a loud night out, but I'd attribute that to alcohol.
i only experience it in the dark
That might be it or it might be an effect of low-light/no light, or both perhaps.

It's a tricky thing, trying to see something that doesn't really exist but at the same time is real. It's not like floaters or flashing points of light, but more of a blanket fog that *is* your vision without impairing anything.

If you focus on a blank wall, can you see them in ordinary daylight?

YES. It's so fucking weird. I sometimes trigger it when I'm laying down at night, but I can make it go away at will. It seems to have a very specific trigger but I haven't been able to isolate it yet.

I tried looking it up, and apparently little is known about it.
Yeah, it's a pretty odd and barely understood condition.

The study that was published recently, from what I understood, suggested a link to migraines and the region of the brain implicated in migraines but that people don't need to have them to be someone experiencing visual snow.

Apologies if I've made this thread before but it came to mind again today so here we go

Visual Snow

Do any of you have a 'thing' with your vision which slightly resembles this gif?

I can best describe it as being a blizzard of tiny pinpoint lights of all sorts of colours flickering across everything I see, they don't obscure anything I look at but they are noticeable if I pay attention to them.

Thankfully I don't have it particularly badly (I think) going by some of the other accounts, but it's a bit of a pain in the arse and a bit of a mystery as to what causes it.

http://eyeonvision.org/visual-snow.html

Quote
Visual snow (VS) is the persisting visual symptom of seeing snow or television-like static across their visual field. The snow and static tends to be worse in the dark, but can be seen in all lighting conditions.

VS should not be confused with normal entoptic phenomena or vitreous floaters. While these two conditions also cause you to see spots and floating objects, this is not the same as VS.

There is no known cause for visual snow. Through documented case studies illegal and legal drug usage can sometimes lead to VS, but little is known on the specific causes. A few connections between HPPD, auto-immune disease, and lyme disease have been found. However, far more cases of visual snow have no connection at all to another condition.

Although the vision is affected, very few people have had irregular eye test results. Most come back within normal range, leading doctors to believe that patients may be making their symptoms up. CT scans and MRIs also tend to come back normal, again stumping doctors. It is more likely to be an undetectable chemical imbalance in the brain.

The term visual snow is rather limiting for the condition as there are numerous symptoms that patients experience above and beyond visual snow. Many people also see after images, vitreous floaters, entopic phenomenon, glare, halos, starbursts, trails, palinopsia, double vision, odd colors and shapes. Many sufferers also have non-visual symptoms such as fatigue, tinnitus or depersonalization and derealisation.

There currently is no established treatment for visual snow. Many patients have tried migraine medication with little to no success. Other have tried herbs, cleansing, acupuncture, and chiropractors, again with little to no success.

It is important for you to realize that this is a 24/7 condition for these sufferers. The symptoms do not ever go away. Even with their eyes closed they see the static, afterimages and other disturbing visual images. With the help of a handful of caring doctors, the Eye on Vision Foundation strives to raise funds for research into finding a treatment.

I check up on this site from time to time because as far as I know they are some of the only people actually researching it and they've published a study fairly recently which was a nice visual assault of neurological language.

The thing that piqued my interest with it this time was that they've found a possible correlation with tinnitus, which is something I do have (mildly) and I've had for as long as I can remember (same as the visual snow).

Posting this thread because it's interesting to me and I'm wondering if any of you have something similar and in the remote possibility that someone here does - do you also have mild tinnitus?

Very nice

I wish I could have painted mine properly but I made a pretty shitty job of all of them. I've been slowly getting some boxes of Ad Mech guys that I plan to put together at some point in the future but the investment in getting tools, brushes and paint puts me off.

Still, nice work mate

Thanks! Yeah, I really like the Mechanicus models, they look neat, and the lore behind the factions is of course very cool.

I find it surprising that it took then so long to add them as a playable faction, seeing as the lore surrounding their existence has been around forever.
Yeah, it's kinda funny because the week before they announced them I was saying how the only shit that would even half tempt me back into 40k would be AdMech models.

I doubt I'll ever play the game again but I might collect a nice looking mechanicus force to go on a shelf.
