What's the point? Are you cloning for organ farming or just for the hell of it?
Well, in that case, you could use the muh morals argument very validly. Since you'd be creating a human life just to imprison it, kill it, and then harvest its organs. I could never support cloning if it were used just for harvesting organs from people.
glad you see it that way. So why would you clone people for shits and giggles then? Weve got kids in orphanages and foster homes nobody wants so what's the point?
And yet people still want to have their own children, having a clone for a child rather than a randomised mess with another meatbag isn't all that different aside from the genetics being identical. There will always be orphans and children in care, but that's no reason to prevent people from having their own children, cloned or natural <.<
i was getting more at the fact that we've already got a back up of people. So much so that they're being aborted because a lot of people can't support their own kids. So why put clones into the mix. Also couldn't we blend both genetics of the parent to make basically a perfect mix of both parents? It's not a clone but it's like a perfected version of conception I guess?

I know, there isn't going to be a shortage of meatbags anytime soon but it's more about the bigger picture <.<

Cloning is the first step towards GM humans, which has the potential to change lives for the better immensely. Resistance to diseases, longer lifespans, glow in the dark eyes. The world would be your oyster-human hybrid >_>

The species must continue to work towards it's own evolution, waiting for natural selection to take it's time at this point is wasted. Natural selection leads a species to sentience, then when said species becomes sentient it must take control of it's own evolution and strive for greater and greater forms <.<

I have yet to hear one.

Cloning people for organs is the most inefficient way to go about obtaining replacement organs imaginable. We can already grow individual organs from stem cells, so that's a dead end argument.

But as usual science and technology are hamstrung by the unambitious and fearful peasants that infest this planet. Someday though, someday the mechanicus will be a thing and all you meatbags won't be able to ruin progress with petty ethical and moral qualms.
Yes Mr P, we all know that you want to be roboman....
Someday, yes >.>

I find two bongers decrying tea and a yank praising it over coffee.

My faith was both shattered and restored with one thread.

GG
I bought some twinings earl grey, this to be specific
Spoiler
mate, i may reconsider my stance. it's the best tea i've had in ages
The tea is exquisite but the box art is gay as fuck.

I tried to hold onto old versions of the twinings boxes but some faggot kept on throwing them away so now I have to store the tea in these stupid hipster bastarding poofter boxes.

;_;

Tea is disgusting anyway

your fault for drinking tea instead of the based god that is coffee

Everyone knows Tea is a million times better than Coffee.
Tea is the Beverage of the Gods.

Now THIS is favoritism on LC's part.

I think there are other people who could've been a mod as they've shown they're active in the community and capable.

I actually wasn't even part of the discussion when this took place since my computer was out of commission and when it was up and running a couple days later all I did was post various activity charts for people to compare to and make their own decisions. Cheat asked me for my opinions via pm and I sent them to him (in which only a single sentence related to her). I actually hadn't even seriously considered her as a mod until I went around getting a pulse on people and was a bit surprised to find out that there were several users who thought she's be good (in fact she appeared the most out of the people I asked).

Comet is just as active as some other mods and she has the right personality for the job in my opinion.
OOOOOKAAAAAAAYYYYY

Here's my post in HQ informing the rest of the staff that I'm going to be gone for a while.

Here's part of the PM sent to me by Cheat because I never got Skype running on my phone.

As you can see I wasn't even around for the conversation.
It's not that serious dude. And even if it is favoritism, I doubt he/she'll be a bad mod.

Just seems like the mods pick who they like over others that could be considered. I'm not complaining, I'm just saying. And no, I don't want to be a mod. That's not why I'm saying this.
I'd say that finding a user agreeable does help their chances because they come to mind more easily, but not to the point where those who aren't suitable get in based solely on 'I like this person'. The pros and cons of each prospective modsmodsmods get weighed up pretty fairly from what I've seen and been a part of, so it's not just a popularity contest >.>

The Flood / Re: is "kill yourself" the new meme
« on: April 14, 2015, 05:19:12 PM »
It's not what I'd call new <.<

Kill yourself has been around for a long time now, it's more of a resurgence/fad here than a new meme arriving.

It's not something I'm fond of but most people on the internet know not to take it seriously and so I don't really think it's a good use of time getting uptight about it.

Now on the otherhand if someone is mocking someone else for being depressed/suicidal then they can pepper their angus for impact.

The Flood / Re: Do people take photos of you?

Very rarely and with strict instructions <_<

For example I had my photo taken whilst holding my newborn nephew, but under no circumstances is it going to appear online. Same sort of thing for whenever someone wants to take my picture, 'No facebook. End of.' <_<

If water can rot wood and rust metal, just imagine what it can do to your insides.

Suddenly drinking glow in the dark ooze doesn't seem too bad after all does it?

Yeah, we have drunk Irish people.
I'd say the scots are worse <_<

Well, I'm in no hurry to buy HoW. If/when we find out what the deal is with the new raid I might get it but I'd rather not jew myself over for what is going to actually defy belief and have less content than The Dank Below.

It's like watching a neverending trainwreck, more carriages just keep flying out of the tunnel at lightspeed and smashing into the pile up. GG Bungie, GG.

20 on blue.

8727
Hmm, well there have already been some very good points made ITT so there isn't much point repeating them here, what I could suggest is a way to try working around it.

As has been pointed out by Byrne/Oss, it depends on the person but from what it sounds like you should be fine to go ahead with exposing yourself to the situations to build up a tolerance.

If you get a friend who you trust to help you with this it should work without too much trouble. So you pick a street to walk down, with your friend and just walk up and down it a few times, a busier one is better but not quite a city centre chaos one >.>

Then you have your friend walk behind you at some distance in greater increments to see whether the eye watering/anxiety onsets and at what point it does >.>
That way you have a friend nearby to reassure you but you should still be getting used to the walking solo without said anxiety onsetting >.>

Gaming / How to get used to heavy headsets? <.<
« on: April 14, 2015, 02:27:40 AM »
I recently obtained a very nice headset thing for the PS4, the sound is great but the only downside is that it sort of squishes my head/ears and overheats them fairly quickly because it's a tightish fit and made of pseudo-leather.

Compared to the one I normally wear all day which is a soft velvet sort of padding and large comfortable whole ear covering bits it's kind of uncomfortable <.<

I'd like to use it as much as possible but it's kind of painful after about 30 mins :l

Does anyone have suggestions on how to get used to this sort of headset/stop it from overheating your ears?

I don't really mind bioware's diversity, it's kind of hammy and forced but it's a nice enough intention.

But for the love of god, they better not put otherkin in it.
