Ehh I'm getting closer to the point where I can say I know two languages confidently.
If I'd have kept up studying french after high school I'd probably be fluent in that now as well.

Gonna finish runestudy and then someday learn dutch <.<
Uh

Runestudy?

Gaming / Re: What are shadows?
« on: May 24, 2015, 11:40:03 AM »
It might be a bit odd but at least on my computer shadows are one of the biggest FPS killers in games, so if I turn them off I can play it with better graphics (In general) and framerates. I can kind of understand why they decided to tone them down/remove a lot of them even if it does look a bit weird.

There are normal shadows in the up close areas though aren't there?

Am I the only one who was fine with TW2's combat?
I didn't have a problem with it, I haven't finished the game yet but I've stuck the swords into enough enemies to get a decent feel for it. Blocking is a bit derpy but that might just be me not adapting or something.
blocking was wonky. only using potions and shit before fights was dumb too.
Ah so it wasn't just me then.

I actually kind of like the no potions in combat stuff, instead of it being a chug 300 health potions to beat this boss it's more of a prepare and exploit a weakness deal.
You can't chug potions in TW3 either. The toxicity meter is still there.
I was referring more to skyrim/fallout and the health potion/stimpak spam.
oh
yeah, but TES and FO are shit anyway

:^)
Yeah well *yore objectively a shit
i hope your TW3 glitches so it's constant sex scenes

PT was the best, then it died :/
It was closed for a while to fix a lot of bugs, but apparently it's public again now.
Yeah, I remember when they shut it down after a massive data compromise or something like that. Those Terra Grata buggers completely broke the game as well <_<

I'll go and take another look, see if it's as good as it used to be.

Serious / Re: Is peace attainable?
« on: May 23, 2015, 01:26:56 PM »
Peace from war is attainable, we are close to that anyway. It's been quite a while since any total war has been declared on another country and most of the current conflicts are peacekeeping/influence spreading from the largest nations and civil wars from the 3rd world ones.

When the living standards of the 3rd world reach parity with the 1st, people are no longer fighting for resources to survive and the like it might be doable.

Extremism, terrorism, separatists, secessionists and the like will be the only major barrier to proper peace, because there will always be nutjobs who think that blowing themselves sky high and taking a few children/fruit stalls/boots with them will make the world a better place, but with a bit of luck some darwinism will come into play and those predisposed to a volatile end will stop breeding on account of having blown their giblets into atoms.

Never heard of this before.

Aren't Emergency Medical Services called EMS for short in Europe Land, too?

Over here it's usually just distinctions or general terms, so Emergency Services = Catchall for Paramedics, Cops, Firefighters and Ambulance Chasers. Distinctions would be Paramedics is the usual way to refer to ambulance crews and the like.

Dead criminals get memorials now? I thought you had to be someone of national value or something.

It's not exactly something new.
That's more of a memorial to their deaths because they were actual notorious criminals. It was a historic.

Even so, it's commemorating people who robbed banks at gunpoint. Brown robbed a shop and then got into that altercation which resulted in his death, petty shit really when they are compared but it's still memorialising a criminal.
