I had to stop drinking coffee a couple of years ago because I'd be feeling like I was about to hurl for the rest of the day.

If the milk based solution worked for you then that's good >.>
I'm not so lucky and it's pretty much Coffee + Psy = Blurgh.

I've said it before and for some silly reason I'll say it again.

Yes people act like jackasses towards you, but it's because the oldest rule of the internet isn't being heeded here.
Don't feed the god damn trolls deci, if people wind you up for fun then take away the key. Don't keep handing them more and more keys to set you off with. Threads like this = >Click here<

I thought you made true mute for this kind of nonsense anyway, if you can't trust yourself not to give into temptation and click the spoilers then black them out fully and leave it at that. There is only so much that mods can moderate, if we banned people for hurt feelings this place would be a ghost-town overnight. Pulling a kinder is the best way to ensure that it will never stop.

So please, mute them or just stop giving them ammo.

People who claim to be for inclusivity/diversity/equality, but then end up being the most racist/sexist people in the comments section.

The recent shift towards promoting segregation in schools is just too funny to believe, but... it's real.

*sigh*
What?
YouTube

Pretty sure someone posted it here but I could be wrong.

It's an hour long so the tl;dw is roughly this
SJWs and associates are now pushing for separation of boys and girls, blacks and whites, blah and blehs in schools so that the evil white chillun don oppress the innocent black chillun by raising their hands in class or something.

Take beta-blockers if you decide to watch the whole thing <.<

It's only a few Aquilas and Skulls away from something out of 40K >_>

Wait so he's not actually a neo-nazi?

No. He's just a conspiracy theorist. Im Gonna to get on my computer and finnish the OP in a while
Oh lol, well in that case I don't mind him being thrown under the metaphorical bus.
But he doesn't deserve having his entire life destroyed over something so mundane and silly. He did nothing to deserve it.
Well I'm guessing for the connection/joke of him being a neo nazi his conspiracy theories involve the NWO, Zionists, JIDF and WTF? Which is fine for joking but seriously believing that stuff already makes your credibility trash.

His conspiracies involve the illuminati, but again, that's not the point. He's not a criminal. He's not morraly bankrupt, he hasnt hurt anybody, so nothing theres no reason to destroy his life. It's not even funny at this point, it's just evil.
Oh right, one of those instead.

Well eh, I can't say I care for the guy but it's not great if he hasn't actually hurt anyone.

Edit: and if it does get spammed with memes we'll just delete them, so report if they occur <.<

« on: June 04, 2015, 05:51:43 PM »
Well that's one way to read the results, the other way is to see that forcing someone to be the wrong gender results in all kinds of mental fuckery. Money was a piece of shit and what he did with reimer is appalling, but that doesn't mean the work he did was worthless <.<
What I'm saying is that you can't condition gender.

Gender is linked to your biology, that is clear. Gender roles are less linked to biology and are a more cultural/social related phenomenon. You look at cross cultural studies for this bit, so tribes where it's the mirror of the west with the women hunting and the men acting like girls would over here *Sorry muh patriarchy*
I'm not debating that.

I'm saying gender can't be conditioned/changed.

Ah, well in that case why would someone who's biological sex and identifying gender do not match need curing?
If it can't be changed, what's the issue with changing the more malleable part of a human to suit the mind?

So in a similar vein to homosexuality being linked to hormone exposure in the womb, if a person who is XY is mistakenly exposed to XX developmental shite in the womb then you are likely to get a female inclined brain/mind (Which iirc is backed up by neuro-imaging studies showing differences in pathing) stuck in a male body. You mix gender into that as a post-natal deal and you've got a recipe for dysphoria <.<

And I wouldn't say it's a disease because that implies some sort of pathology being it, it's a disorder or an abnormality depending on how you want to define it but at the end of the day as with most things involving meatbags it boils down to 'do unto others' <.<
Whatever you want to call it, it needs to be treated. That's my point.
[/quote]
Indeed and the current treatment is twofold, some people with mild dysphoria who don't necessarily need more than some guidance receive that and those who are woefully unhappy with their physical form receive the treatment for that and have it changed to suit their mental state.

There isn't a cure that banishes it back to the hinterlands, you can repress it and stifle it but it goes without saying that it's a terrible idea to do so.

Serious / Re: Do you consider transgenderism a mental illness?
« on: June 04, 2015, 04:55:47 PM »
What I meant is do you guys consider transgender people to be mentally ill?
My answer remains the same. Being transgender does not mean you're mentally ill.
Well, I think you're wrong.
You only think I'm wrong because you don't understand transgender stuff.
What are you 12?

I understand it just fine. It's a disorder.
You obviously don't understand it just fine if you think transgender and GID/gender dysphoria are the same thing.
Let me guess, you think gender and sex are different things?
Yes, because they are. I also think 1+1=2, and the Earth revolves around the sun.
LOL

You know the guy who said gender and sex are different things (John Money) is fucking wrong and insane, right? His experiment on David Reimer trying to prove gender is a social construct failed and the guy committed suicide because of the shit done to him trying to make him think he was a female.
Well that's one way to read the results, the other way is to see that forcing someone to be the wrong gender results in all kinds of mental fuckery. Money was a piece of shit and what he did with reimer is appalling, but that doesn't mean the work he did was worthless <.<

Welp, Max has pretty soundly covered everything I was going to say ITT so thanks for saving me the typing <.<

I would point out that you are going to have a combination of the two when it comes to other mental illnesses so neither of you are wrong per se. The dysphoria itself can lead to unhappiness/depression/anxiety but it is equally rooted in the treatment of the individuals by the wider society and their friends/family. A happy supportive home should allow a transgender person to undergo the necessary treatment to get rid of the dysphoria (Such as the change/HRT etc) without any of the typically associated problems arising.

genuinely lol'd a yodo

also, surely it's up to the parents to ensure their children are looking at extremist content while online?
And it seems inappropriate for teachers to be spying on students.

''yodo brother mashallah better take a few kuffir with you takbir takbir takbir derka derka'' - MI5 shits themselves

Yeah it should be at home, which is why the parents of those girls in no unnecessary terms can get fucked. At school I'm pretty sure most places already have a trigger happy internet filter that will block bbc.co.uk if there is an article about... war D;

Schools are being offered new software that helps teachers spy on pupils' potentially extremist online activity.

It alerts teachers if pupils use specific terrorism-related terms or phrases or visit extremist websites on school computers, laptops or tablets.

Teachers are encouraged to look for a pattern of behaviour rather than raise the alarm after a single warning.

Since February, the Counter Terrorism and Security Act has required schools to prevent pupils becoming radicalised.

But the National Union of Teachers has expressed fears this could lead to debate on contentious issues being shut down.

It also said some teachers feared they could be prosecuted if they dealt with a situation in the wrong way.

The issue was highlighted by the case of three London schoolgirls who travelled to Syria in February and are believed to be in the city of Raqqa, a stronghold of Islamic State.

Their families later complained that police, the school and the local authority had failed to pass on information they said could have prevented the girls leaving.

Jonathan Russell, political liaison officer at Quilliam Foundation, which developed the software, said: "The internet has made it easy for young people to access extreme or radical material.

"While measures such as the UK government's Prevent Strategy already existed, it's now clear that more needs to be done to counter radicalisation early on.

"Protecting young people from the dangers of radicalisation requires positive online counter-extremism, and empowering teachers with technology like Impero's keyword library is an important part of this process."

Sally-Ann Griffiths, of Impero Software, which designed the program, said: "With a widely reported increase in the number of children being radicalised, it's vital that schools put measures in place to prevent pupils coming to harm online.

"By defining terms such as 'yodo', a phrase used by jihadist sympathisers meaning 'you only die once', the glossary gives teachers, who are part of the solution to the problem, the tools they need to identify, intervene and safeguard at-risk pupils."

So how long before Jihad parodies end up with someone being thrown in the clink?

The Flood / Re: What if somebody claimed to be "transabled"?
« on: June 04, 2015, 10:53:30 AM »
Jesus...

This is a particularly difficult one because of how it seems to just shit all over two of my ideologies ._.
The first being preventing the mentally ill from coming to harm, such as losing a limb or life to their disorder.
The other being to do with serious body modification <.<
I.e wanting to replace my own parts with augmetics when they become available, or someone undergoing a sex-change operation to treat their dysphoria. It would be somewhat hypocritical to say that it is acceptable for transgendered people to modify their physical form to better suit their mental form and unacceptable for someone with this... issue... to not be allowed to also remove parts of their own body to better suit their mental form.

I'll use the old fallback then, provided that a competent assesment shows that this is a genuine wish and not one born of delusion/psychosis (As in, the person with the disorder is still able to make a rational choice about their own autonomy) then it's not too... bad.

From a more reactionary view though, it's pretty disgusting that people wish to maim their bodies to become disabled. I'd be more supportive (and infact I do) of people who wish to improve their physical bodies. Slicing bits off to become an amputee for the sake of it and not to have the limbs replaced with superior mechanical ones though... well shit ._.

Crashes, Infinite loading screens, the occasional incident where I actually died to lose progress...

It sucks but it's just good form >.>
Skyrim's autosave system was actually reasonably good provided you weren't cross-countrying without a doorway. From what I've seen TW3 doesn't lend itself too well to good autosave points but if the system is garbage anyway it's best to just get used to the constant saving.

you make it sound as though the population wasn't already in decline pre-patch

Well of course it was, but the TU caused it to drop off much faster.
