Yeah, but how many of those are butthurt people who don't want to log in/can't log in anymore?
Hmm, a couple now and then but on the whole they all seem to be pretty unique lurkers <.<

It's a split between Indexing bots and real human beans, so like when we have 100+ guests it's usually because google and baidu are scanning and archiving the latest threads but a notable number are still normal lurkers <.<

Hmm, well I'll see if I can suggest anything of use but I'm not as familiar with dysthymia as I'd like to be and it says a lot that even the clinical textbook contains little more than a highlight box describing it with the DSM entry. I think what the book was implying was that it should be approached in a similar way to MDD in terms of treatment but that it has to be adapted for the differences between the two.

Which means that there are two, maybe three things (in general) that can improve things or possibly resolve them to some extent. With an acute case of MDD (and associated depressive disorders) the treatment can be temporary medication in conjunction with psychological therapy, I think there is a fancy term for the combined approach but I can't quite remember it. So the patient is prescribed a bandage (meds) and then is sent to A&E (waiting lists) and finally gets seen and sorted out by a doctor, counsellor or psych. So that's the typical two treatments, meds and psych-therapy but the third is usually more of an extraneous one that comes about by an improvement in circumstances and environment.

But for something like dysthymia I don't think that's the typical/best approach as it's more of a chronic issue than an acute one as I'm sure you know <.<
Environmental changes can't always be effected, so that's mostly something for the backburner imo. Which leaves therapy and medication, of the two I'd probably recommend therapy of some kind rather than medication in this sort of situation because with dysthymia being something that as far as I know doesn't simply go away after 6 months (the diagnostics criteria kind of makes that clear) so you'd be looking at long term medication for that and eh, that's not really great for anyone especially when it's an extortionate price and can come with some unpleasant side effects.

So my rambling long-way-round suggestion is to look for a psychologist, psychiatrist or counsellor of some kind that you can visit every so often so that they can help you work through it and I think if they subscribe to the better psychological approaches rather than >freud nonsense they can probably teach you some CBT techniques that may make daily living slightly less of a struggle <.<

+++
And the usual disclaimer that I have to include with stuff like this
+++
I'm not a psychologist, I'm not yet training to become one. I'm a psychology student halfway through the undergraduate. I've been through enough of the mental health systems firsthand and secondhand to have a decent idea of how this sort of thing works but as always take a professional opinion over the ramblings of sumgai on the internet.

Generally I wouldn't worry too much about warnings, they aren't the black mark of death and it's usually just a slap on the wrist to say 'Don't do that again'

If we break out the heavy bans rather than just stack up some warning points, then you are in the shit <_<
And for reference, I don't think I've had to log into the executioner panel for a good few months now. So keep playing nicely everyone <.<

Squee! Playing nice is boring, but it seems that douche bag alakazam finally left sep7 so I'm okay. :3
Ah well, I try not to judge but I will say that there was a thread on another site linked with a URL so questionable that I was thinking whether or not to give the good old CID a ring <_<

What do you mean?
Well I'm trying to be oblique what with it half concerning a somewhat user, but I'll speak in general terms for a minute here.
I have sympathy for people afflicted with that sort of inclination, provided they do not harm the subject of their interests with their interest. Seeking proper help without judgement or prejudice is by all means what I would encourage because that prevents harm to the victims and harm to the afflicted.

That being said, if someone is taking inappropriate pictures of children, or worse, then I've got no hesitation to ring up the appropriate federal/state service who deal with those crimes <.<

I couldn't agree with you more, and I tried to talk to him about getting help and working to learn how to cope with things better, but f course if someone doesn't want to help fix themselves you have no chance to help them fix themselves.
Yup, I find it's best to just let it be known that help is available and that if they have any questions that you might be able to help with then your inbox is always open but seeking people out to help them tends to have the opposite to the desired effect.

People will reach out when they are ready and willing, usually, otherwise it's best to not intervene. Special exceptions for suicide risks/attempts and the like but that goes without saying <.<

I'm always trying to reach out to those who are in emotional pain, because i can relate, but that fucker really needs to be admitted.
It's good to be proactive and all, but as long as it's tempered with a bit of caution so you don't end up treading on their toes to shake their hand <.<

It's a difficult and painful thing for a lot of people to talk about, so making the first move can sometimes make things worse when trying to help people.

Hmm, perhaps. I haven't seen all the details but sectioning someone (despite my jokes) is really a last resort <.<

That's true but some how I usually avoid being shat on for offering advice. Plus I'm not like "Hey I think you need help and should go to a therapist" unless they have volunteered information to me and asked for my advice.

I know mental institutions really don't do any good. My best friend growing up was in and out of them for her behavioral issues. She was diagnosed with DID when she was 18.
Hmm well that's fairly lucky then, but I suppose since I never really put it forward I don't find out if it would be badly received. It works well the way I do things so far though <.<

Hmm, well that's quite troubling then. Is she doing any better nowadays?
They do have their place and usually that just involves making someone safe until they are suitable to be discharged into community care. I don't think someone should really be being put in one for behavioural issues unless said issues risked harm to herself or others.

She's a meth addict now, ran from the cops, mouthed off to a judge, and has a warrant out for her arrest... so needless to say I don't speak to her...
Oh, oh dear. Sorry to hear that :/

I hardly ever run into glitches in any game, with the exception of Skyrim, which I ran into many gamebreaking glitches.

Skyrim I had pretty much glitch free

No, I'm serious. I can count the number of glitches on one hand and neither were gamebreaking.

So I'm a little bit annoyed that I just fell through the damn world and spent about 5 minutes flying through the aether over novigrad.

I mean, I saved not too long ago but it was before a 10 minute long cavalry battle so that's a bit of a slap in the face to have to repeat that >_>

I can't say this is the first glitch either, there have been a couple of others (minor visual stuff in the inventory looking like Missingno) and the like but yeaaaah. Still a 10/10 game so far though.

I'd still be doing Clinical Psychology, pretty much the only thing that would dissuade me from that is if by some retarded stroke of luck I get into post-graduate medschool as I was originally planning to do (Albeit not post-grad) in which case I'd go for Psychiatry but eh, I'm happy with my current goal as it is.

In the UK it's only available from GAME.

Yep. :( Bethesda have put out more copies to US stores (which sold out almost instantly) so there is a chance they could do the same for us Britbongs.

I must have it.

And I think I broke the thing with the ree.
I'm still deciding whether to get it on XBO or PC. Hopefully I will have made my decision by the time pre-orders are back up.
I'm pretty sure I'm getting it for the PS4, then PC at a later date but looks like I'm going to be checking GAME twice a day >_>
According to their Twitter they don't have anything to announce yet, but that you should stay tuned. I am so desperate for this if I don't get a pre order in I will kill myself.

I might as well do what you're doing and buy the console version first and the PC version later on. I've done the same for other Bethesda games, hell I ended up buying Fallout 3 4 times.
I'm also rather desperate to get it but I'm more inclined to gank the person who gets it instead of me you see <_<

But yeah I've done that with all of the more recent bethesda games; F3, FNV and Skyrim. Bought them on the 360 and then bought them on the PC a year (or five) later >_>
Word on the street is GAME has a new stock, but due to an error the website isn't displaying it. GAME will apparently have it fixed "before the weekend" so I'd keep my eyes peeled.
>_>

Much obliged, with game you have to actually put the money down when you preorder don't you?
Because that'll be a nuisance and I'll have to ask for pls gib moni from famuree then pay them back when I get my paycheck next week >_>
Normally you only put deposits for things with big prices, i.e. collector's editions. For the Pipboy edition I think it's a £20 deposit. A speculated time for the site to be updated is in about 10 minutes, so we could see it then. If not, it'll be more waiting.
Oh well shit <_<
Ah double shit because my bank account is empty ;_;

Ech well I hope you get one at least lol and who knows, maybe the omnissiah will bless me with some luck and it will still be available tomorrow. Or bethesda makes another shipment >_>

Don't post it again .______.

PMs are for that kind of shite

It was a visual interpretation of 'Cheerios' to some extent <.<
wouldn't a much more subtle approach been to just tag the post with NSFW and spoiler the image?
Yup, but that isn't how the rules are set out currently >_>

Quote
2. Graphic Content (Strict Moderation)

Sexual/Shock/Gore images and videos must remain in Anarchy only.
NSFW threads (including sex role-plays, sex stories, Cheerio threads, etc.) that do not include photos or videos are allowed in The Flood, so long as the thread is distinguished as being NSFW. Responses in these threads do not need to be in spoiler tags.
It could possibly do with updating for a few bits, just like 'The OP must be spoilered but subsequent posts do not' or something like that.

I mean generally I don't give much of a shit for warning people over posting lewd crap, if they are spamming obscenities then yeah that'll get a slap but usually it's just an edit <.<
since when was that a fucking thing

i thought we were allowed NSFW content as long as the thread title was clearly labeled NSFW
It's been there for a while now, probably since December/January. The latest edit was an inclusion of 'Don't repost shit that's been deleted' so the previous date of edit is gone now but it's been around for quite a while <.<

And at one point we did but then there were some issues with spoilers and mobile users so I think it was just decided to keep all the NSFW visual stuff in Anarchy.
i thought it was decided that you have to spoiler it, and not embed it too?
Hmm yeah that's the edit free option, as I said generally we don't give a shit and bannu people over it unless it's really haram/done for shock posting etc but if you made a thread that was tagged NSFW and included a spoilered link to an external website I'm pretty sure we let that slide.

7469

Much obliged, with game you have to actually put the money down when you preorder don't you?
Because that'll be a nuisance and I'll have to ask for pls gib moni from famuree then pay them back when I get my paycheck next week >_>
