What was so bad about that?
Since it was birmingham they probably thought it was real.

Quote
HSBC has sacked employees who made an "abhorrent" video in which they pretended to be Islamic State militants carrying out a beheading.

The video was posted online and shows a man dressed in an orange jumpsuit, while five other men in black stand around him - one holding a fake knife.

The Sun said the employees were members of the bank's legal division in Birmingham on a team building exercise.

The bank said it did not tolerate "inappropriate behaviour".

"As soon as the Sun brought this video to our attention we took the decision to sack the individuals involved," the bank said.

"This is an abhorrent video and HSBC would like to apologise for any offence caused."

The bank did not specify how many people had been sacked.

The newspaper has posted an eight-second clip of the video on its website in which one man shouts "Allahu Akbar" - Arabic for "god is great" - while others laugh.

All it needed to be perfect was a Nasheed in the background.

I said PM for a reason, this is just attention seeking.

I'm not unreasonable and I will always try to look for the good in people, but my patience over this nonsense is wearing thin.

The first time I lost my temper on here was with another former user who was also using mental illness/disorders as ammunition to take shots at someone else. See a pattern there? It's not acceptable in the slightest, which includes the morons who wind you up for reactions like this.

Get over the bloody victim complex already, I have been hearing you out and doing my best to clean up this shitathon but if you want to lump me in with those taunting you then enjoy the absolute bare minimum of moderation work from myself regarding anything involving you for the forseeable future.

The incident in question appeared for all intents and purposes as without justifiable grounds. If they were needling you that's one thing, but that crossed the line. You then repeated the thing outside of anarchy, which earned you the well deserved slap for it. Apologies for it to the person in question are fine, but it was still the second time I've ever actually lost my temper with someone online <_<

If you were referring to being called out in an OP, that's already against the rules so you simply need to report those threads and they will be read as soon as they are seen. The wording implied you wanted solonoid to be barred from using your name, hence the absurdity of it.

This should have indeed been a PM, but what's done is done so I'll reply and lock it you can continue this in a PM if you wish.

Why are you against assisted suicide?
I'm not convinced that having doctors essentially all become Jack Kervorkians would be a net benefit to the healthcare system, or society as a whole. The potential for pressure and abuse (especially on the elderly) is too high, I think. I could be convinced, though.

For the record, I do think companies like Dignitas provide a valuable social service.
I'll put my usual private healthcare gripes aside for this bit <.<

What if rather than simply putting euthanasia in the hands of all of the doctors across the country, you have a new body instituted to handle these matters. So like the NHS but for dying instead, you go through the approval process to provide the check against abuse or premature/unnecessary euthanasias and then they can be given to the Cheerful Reaper Robo-Bear from japan <.<

That way no doctor sullies their hands or blurs the lines of 'Do no Harm' and you still have euthanasia introduced for those who need it. Given that it's simply the matter of ending a life rather than saving it, I'd be more inclined to say privatised companies (like dignitas) would be fine given that they are regulated properly <.<

A few (not a couple of) points here

1. It's a shitty thing to take the piss out of someone for being suicidal/attempting or whatever. I tore a certain user a new shrektum for that not too long ago so whilst the irony isn't lost on me here it doesn't make it acceptable.

2. It isn't and never will be a crime to use someone's forum name, that is beyond ridiculous. Calling someone out to pisstake them, sure that's not going to fly but expecting us to actually police the place for the usage of your username... pls.

3. I'm getting fairly tired of locking a thread in which elegiac speaks to another user and within 5 posts it turns into a shitfest. Just get the fuck over it the lot of you, please. I'm too tired to be politick here.

The dolphin rape thing is apocryphal at best. Never heard of the drowning thing.
IIRC they used a test dummy with sensors/cameras to monitor this and the dolphins did drag it down to this undersea cave and well... the rest is fairly obvious <.<

It's been a while since I read it but I'm fairly certain it does happen. The drowning humans thing is rarer, but they drown other dolphins fairly frequently. A group of young male dolphins will surround a weaker one and batter seven shades of shite out of it and hold it underwater so that it can't surface for air.

Nasty stuff really.

This is the point where vegans and vegetarians like to pretend animals are sentient or have souls, but that's up for debate.
Actually I think it's more to do with them being capable of suffering, I doubt many people think animals have souls unless they are an animist sort of fellow. Sentience is currently only really applied to humans and tentatively applied to great apes and maybe dolphins, but even that's just tenuous.

I do like how in the natural world the more intelligent a creature becomes the greater it's capacity for cruelty.
I.e Dolphin Rape-Caves/Drowning for funsies or with chimps they can do some nasty shit to other chimps too <_<
