Some did fight back, they usually ended up being shot in the process or worse. Overt resistance movements were fairly rare iirc, it was mostly a matter of keeping their heads down and GTFOing as quickly as possible. The ones who weren't smart enough or lucky enough to get away to somewhere like the UK ended up on the trains.
So to the best of my thinking it comes down to a couple of points, human survival instinct (ironic) and obedience to authority in a reverse way to the way it's normally applied (To the grunts holding the rifles)
In a situation where you are with your family on a train being sent to a prison camp, you would expect to survive by being interned and forced to work, not just gassed and burned. You wouldn't be likely to just go up and start whaling on a guard with your bare hands because he has a gun and 30 friends with guns. So they keep their heads down and walk into the shower room meekly, then they are gassed and they die.
If they knew that their options were simply; die fighting or die screaming then some would likely have gone for the guards and died on the end of a rifle with some dignity but as this information was kept from them in the moment their best option appears to be going along with the crowd.
Bear in mind it's also civilians here, not soldiers or terrorists. Women, Children, the Elderly and the husbands/fathers/sons all lumped in together. They stand next to no chance against the trained soldiers who are well armed and equipped, in towers and with MGs.
Then the obedience to authority section, if a man with a gun and a lot of uniformed friends with guns screams at you get on the train or I'll shoot you into swiss cheese. Chances are you'd just get on the train.

I used a Shining avatar for about half of my time here, around hitting Legendary I switched to a cute anime boy, had that for a bit till I switched to another cute shota elf, had that for (2 weeks?) and then was told that I couldn't use that, so I switched to gif of a dog having Marky Mark flashbacks, then I switched to this avatar, added a rainbow flag layer on it to parody the shit done on Facebook, then switched it back to normal yesterday.
The shining pic was the best.
Now that I think about it, I can't believe I forgot about this one.

The McCartney sausages are certainly a nice substitute, I kind of prefer Quorn ones though. Quorn has egg white in it, unfortunately :/
Yeah, I know it's not vegan but I'm more of a pescatarian but lately that's been fading somewhat towards more straight up vegetarianism. I doubt it'll every quite reach that point, but we'll see <.< Quorn is a good substitute for vegetarians though, keeps food somewhat interesting without going to any major lengths for preparation. Just swap out the meat for the quorn product and boom, pretty much as good as the real thing (Like lasagne) The bit that caught my eye though, Vegan Salt... que?
Vegan chicken salt. Some have animal stuffs, and you'd need an encyclopedia to navigate the ingredients in a Nandos product.
Hm, well I don't think I've ever had that (nor do I intend to) I was just mildly concerned that they had found a way to put ground up bones in my rock salt <_<

Ehh, this is one of those particularly dodgy issues for obvious reasons.
I think all things considered, if she's been stuck with depression for the best part of her life (guessing by childhood they mean 8/9 years old) so 15 years with it and no improvement? I'd hope that they really had tried everything in that space of time, which isn't an unreasonable expectation. If it boils down to she is going to spend the rest of her life in a psych ward bouncing from one attempt to the other and there really is no medication or therapy that can help, it is permissible to alleviate the suffering.
Despite a bit of a shitfest a little while back, I've thought more on the matter somewhat and I think that it could do with clarifying a bit for my stance. Suicide is to be prevented, simple as. Someone who has the potential to get better rather than end as a stain on the pavement should be given that chance. If someone cannot be helped by treatment, with some of the last resorts/experimental therapies also failing then just as I would argue for someone's right to die peacefully rather than painfully from cancer I would say euthanasia for cases like that (and like this one) can be acceptable.
Life might be suffering, but there is a limit to how much suffering it is worth. Especially when it becomes nothing but suffering.

So having a 8:1 pushing 9:1 ratio of female clinpsys to male clinpsys is kind of fucking the balance up big time, so now universities have a nice little 'preference given to male applicants to meet shortfall' tag.
This is actually a rather interesting point. I'm usually opposed to all kinds of discriminatory rebalancing efforts, but to be honest I could see how it's justified in a profession like psychology.
Yeah, it is a bit of an odd one. I'm of a similar mindset, quotas and preferred hiring in general is lousy because it just encourages tokenism. If they are cut out for the job, they deserve it. Not because they have balls/ovaries/melanin etc. (Pardon my microaggression, pbuh) And yet for a field of work in which the gender, race, culture, ethnicity, class and all the rest of it is actually highly pertinent for establishing a good rapport which is generally viewed as crucial to successful treatment (No shit sherlock award 1847-2025), you need to have quota'd staff so that you have the ability to provide a patient with a shrink that best fits the category. I mean obviously patient choice comes into it, every shrink and counsellor I've seen since I was 10 made it clear that if I wanted to see a different psych then all I had to do was request one and that would be that, but on the whole it's best to match up people for the best effect imo <.<
