Serious / Re: Should an undergraduate education be free?
« on: August 12, 2015, 06:02:59 PM »
Hmm, probably not free but I'd like the current system for the UK a whole lot more if the fees charged weren't so retardedly high. Then again, by studying the way I am it's working out at £5k for a full year of study, so I'm leaving with £15k total debt via SFE which is a pretty unpleasant number but the repayment system is tolerably organised.

I feel bad for people going to a physical one though, they not only have living costs, accommodations, the other student loan for like maintenance I think? and 9k per annum... jesus that's gonna smart in the chequebook.

Whereas assuming I get on the path I intend to, when I hit doctorate level I actually get a salary for that (the course pays you, not the other way around) which was amusing to learn. So omnissiah willing, I should be walking away from my studies without a massive burden of debt. Others won't be so lucky so I'd kind of like to see that system for everyone and not just the lucky/smart ones >_>

The Japanese liked him, according to Cortazzi. "I think they respected Peter. He had great personal charm, he was interested in Japanese culture, he would always be repeating a haiku at every possible occasion. And when we were working for the establishment of a Japan festival in Britain in 1991 we were clear that the only person who could really be chair of it was Peter Parker."

Peter Parker

he would always be repeating a haiku at every possible occasion

tl;dr of the article is that this gentleman was one of the wartime translators trained by bongistan (WW2) to deal with the japanese invading our asian colonies <_<

His name was peter parker, spiderman, and he was without a doubt the original weeaboo.

Quote

Not even Category 5: Gaijins go around repeating haikus, well some might but none that I have seen <_<

Spiderman, your champion of weeb-thread derailing, was actually a weeaboo all along.

Git gud superhero fans, git gud.

How does it make you feel, knowing that I have the Kotori-Bomb picture plastered across all of my tanks, guns, aircraft and boats in battlefield?

Or how every time I kill someone, they get to stare the face of autism in the eye and go 'I was killed by that'

I can tolerate that. I mean... browsing through WoT skins... I've seen some shit. Some real bad shit... like, someone vomited a rainbow onto the tank and then proceed to place vocaloid and Strike Witches stickers everywhere.
It's pretty desensitizing.
I saw a poiplane that someone linked, I think it was byrne. That was pretty bad even for me.

Stating the obvious a little here, but from what I understand of the article it's saying that the more friends of the opposite gender you have the less you focus on your studies?

Which if anyone paid attention to the meatbags of the classroom, you would know is the case. The ones who have too much blood flowing downstairs rather than up aren't going to be doing so well in their maths exam.

Just a bit of news that bethesda announced on their twitter feed, which is nice to know. So there is no need for a broken steel DLC and there is no disappointment when they release DLC for the game that doesn't do a broken steel (FNV) so yey, you can just keep on playing as you wish rather than having to make a save etc.

You guys can get that from the title anyway but bleh.

Also no level cap, that's the more interesting part because I wonder how they are going to integrate that <.<

The Flood / Re: Do You Ever Look Back Through Your Old Posts And...
« on: August 09, 2015, 01:51:08 PM »
Depends how far back I look, to my earliest posts it was the typical ignorant little teenager stuff which I guess everyone has to get over at some point. Then what I think would be a more cheerful period of posting in a funny mirror to how absolutely miserable I was at the time. Now things have just levelled off and it's posting as I post.

I find it kind of funny how I look back at some of my older posts and think 'if I saw that nowadays, I'd be laying into them with relish' although given how the last couple of examples have gone, I'd say that's unlikely and I've cooled my head over that sort of thing now. I'm much less likely to go ham on someone for being terribly uninformed over mental health issues and a lot more likely to just explain why they are wrong/educate them on it.

Sharptooth from Land Before Time.

The first Land Before Time movie was really bleak and kind of frightening when I look back on it.
Those movies are also why I eat vegetables, my mom convinced me they were tree stars.
Clever girl.

I had a birthday cake when I was 3 or 4 in the shape of a triceratops with treestars all around it (icing), ahh that was a great day. Land Before Time was my favourite, I watched the VHS until it stopped being a thing and we had DVDs instead <_<

« on: August 08, 2015, 05:03:26 PM »
Well shit...

I hope that's not the case, but come to think of it I haven't seen him around in a while now. There have been a couple of 'might have dones' before, but they have all so far turned up at some point or the other. I hope this is gonna be one of those and not a... well. Yeah.

Shit.
I wouldn't really think much of it were it anyone else but I'm legitimately worried because the guy had such a grim outlook on life. Talked about killing himself on more than one occasion.
Egh yeah, well I'll hope for the best anyway because that's really all that can be done at this point. There have been other people I know/knew that were pretty close to it and they vanished. They did turn up again, thankfully but yeah...
