It wasn't done for you deci, it was done because of the incessant flamewars that people liked to start with each other. It's also common sense to not let a thread like X User is a FUCKING FAGGOT GOD DAMN™ fly.
Generally if a thread is calling someone out and it seems to be joking, I'll wait and see if the user in question reports it. If they do, it'll get locked without question but more often than not people have the maturity to not just scream and cry at being called out in a bit of brash humour.
Staff also generally don't care about being called out because if they couldn't handle a bit of PSYCHOLOGY IS A PSEUDOSCIENCE/YOUR WAIFU IS SHIT/KILL YOURSELF YOU GOD DAMN KIKE then I doubt they'd make good or even passable staff members.

I've skimmed through the thread and modchat and it looks like there will be a few new changes, if they haven't already been implemented.
One thing I'll point out that has been a standing policy since sep7agooks became a thing (or at the very least since I started in the staff with LC) is that retroactive punishment is absolutely haram.
It might seem like someone is getting away with it, but the flip side of that is that we would be making a rule to punish someone for something that they did when what they did (at the time) was not against the rules. That kind of shit reeks of modabuse and we've steered clear of it forever and it's gonna stay that way.
Finding and exploiting loopholes is something every set of rules has to endure, we aren't omniscient and usually the only way to find a loophole is to watch someone climb through it. Then we patch it up so they can't do it again.
I'll drop my two pence in here regarding a spoiler-warning system but it's of course subject to change/discussion/refining in HQ.
If someone posts an unwitting spoiler, I'd say just an edit is all that's required. Remove it, spoiler it, something like that. It happens and I've seen it happen a lot, people discussing something they like i.e a new episode of something - they get carried away and spoil bits of it for the other person/people.
If someone is doing it repeatedly to fuck with others, i.e someone posting a thread called X CHARACTER DIES IN EPISODE Y AHAHAHAHHAHAHHWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWdesu etc then that's clearly not halal.
Then I'd be all for a straight up ban, the number of days I'm not sure of yet but loosely if it's obvious I don't think a warning is the right approach.
The rules in general are about due for a refining/review thing because the forum changes style fairly often rules become defunct and other ones become needed so this might be a good time to drag the staff into a thread for that and then see what the community thinks of the potential changes.

Weebs =/= Weeaboos Weebs = Anyone who watches chinese cartoons, korean comics or has anything at all to do with japanese media. Yes that includes DBZ. You bunch of filthy weebs. Weeaboos = What some of you seem to think means weeb. Someone who is obsessed with Japan/Japanese Culture/Anime, etc. and attempts to act as if they were Japanese, even though they're far from it. They use Japanese words but usually end up pronouncing them wrong and sounding like total assholes. You can find alot of these faggots clogging up the forums of Gaia Online, hanging out in the international aisle of the supermarket, or crowding the manga section of your local bookstore. A non japanese person who basically denounces their own culture and calls themselves japanese. They try to learn japanese through the anime they watch and usually end up pronouncing it wrong and looking like a complete idiot.
KEEP IN MIND: that a non-japanese person can like the culture, watch anime, speak the language and RESPECT THE CULTURE, while still keeping in touch with there own. Which keeps them from being a Weeaboo, japanophile, ect. An easy litmus test, if you ask someone 'Are you an Otaku?' and they say 'Yes' - You've found yourself a weeaboo.

I think it would be a total waste of time to try and address guns themselves but to look at the reason why people go columbine instead.
I'd start by kicking seven shades of shite out of the media for making them into demonic martyrs and giving their every breath wall to wall coverage for weeks after they are brought down.
Then I'd say a proper national mental healthcare system, that was free to access[/u] would resolve any remaining problems with the folks who go postal. You won't stop them all from doing it, but if you give them zero coverage when they do and make sure they get the help they need before they get to that point you should drastically cut down on the amount of shit that goes on.

Hmm I know there are a couple of times on here, I can't really remember which though.
One or two on B.net a while back as well, the most notable was one rather unpleasant clusterfuck of a thread to do with Transgenderism. My textbooks from school were somewhat outdated in regards to that issue <.<
If someone points something out or makes a sound argument against my point, then I don't have much trouble accepting that. However said sound argument is of course subject to personal interpretation (which is how arguments tend to arise, both people think they are being reasonable etc) so really it depends a little on what has been said and the like.
