Oh no....
Holy shit, 2700+ hours?
That's literally 7 hours a day, every day since launch. This guy needs to reevaluate his fucking life, immediately.
Jesus... I mean I once saw a shitbucket on BF3 with 3000+ hours around about the two year mark, that was pretty damn disturbing but to think someone could play destiny that much... Then again, when I think of some of the people I know/knew who played destiny religiously it's not exactly surprising that they hit that kind of milestone. No Job No Studies No Dependants No Partner They live with their parents at the age of 28 (give or take a few years for the different people) Sadly it's not just a joking stereotype, there are people like that and Destiny draws them to it like flies to shit.

I could easily have not existed at all and just been a ghost
But yeah, being dead in all but a name for two years is perhaps a little depressing.
Oddly enough, this is precisely how I want to operate at my institution. I don't want anyone to remember me.
Indeed, I mean preferably I'd spend the next two years as a ghost as well but unfortunately I think I'm going to be obliged to prove my existence at some point which is uh... fun. Equally though, I'm not half as depressed/anxious as I was a year ago so eh. It's more of a 'alright fine, let's get this over with' at the thought of speaking to the tutor/class rather than 'just kill me now'

I don't know why you'd make this thread when you know this forum is like 80% straight edges
Huh? I'm pretty sure the majority drinks at the least.
It's a very tenuous majority.

Hmm, perhaps how (as I was saying about 10 minutes ago to tru and LC) I have so far gone two years on my degree without anyone knowing I exist beyond a name and an ID number that gets pasted at the top of the assignments I hand in.
I've never turned up in person to the face to face tutorials and for the online stuff I uh... 'lost' my microphone. Then uninstalled the microphone driver to avoid talking to people with a mic rather than a keyboard.
So up until tomorrow, when I'll actually appear as something other than what could be passed off as a bot that will have been two solid years out of four on this course, where I could easily have not existed at all and just been a ghost that someone else was using the name of <.<
It sounds a little more depressing on paper than it is to me, I kind of enjoyed not really existing for that period of time. Now that I'm not a rotting corpse that is too anxious to go outside, it's still a little weird when I do things that are perfectly normal to meatbags without either crippling agony or going off the rails upstairs.
Fun either way.
But yeah, being dead in all but a name for two years is perhaps a little depressing.

Politely I would hope, I mean if they are being all sanctimonious about it then hit them with the barge pole you use to keep them at bay but for those who don't have a stick up their ass it's not really a big deal.
Nowdays of the three things, only one is really a notably different choice. Smoking isn't as popular/common as it used to be thankfully, being a prude over swear words is childish and that wears off with time but not drinking alcohol nowadays is uh... well it's always fun to play 20 questions over it. With every person you meet. Every time you meet them afterwards. Oh boy.
Perhaps just ask them what they'd want to do for fun and see if any of it appeals to you?

You know, I really loathe quote snipping. It's such a tiresome and petty way of arguing. EA isn't taking advantage of anyone here, they are offering the standard season pass price for the decent amount of content (assuming they copy a battlefield game with quantity). Ontop of that they are offering the first DLC free to all the players. The game is £40, standard pricing The pass will be £35, standard pricing Unless you'd like to see the basegame cost £80/$90 so that they recover their expenditure from the production of a game, why complain about an optional season pass? If this was the cut content debacle all over again, then yeah anyone should be pissed. It's not though, Jakku isn't going to be a 108kb day one download to activate disc locked content. Whining =/= Their entire platform being at risk of sinking into the ground They fucked up big time, the utter slating they got from the entire planet combined with no doubt dire preorder numbers of the console is what changed the game there. Not a few comments on a forum. And the only way to get our point across is via our wallets and complaining. And this is why you fail. But hey, feel free to go onto battlelog bitching away and see how much they care. The thing is though, there isn't a deluge of outrage over this. There is a bit of whining going on and that's it, that is because they aren't doing anything out of the ordinary. Every other major AAA publisher offers a season pass nowadays because it is an assured investment into producing extra content that both allows the player to enjoy more of the game and the dev/pub to recover costs of making the title. Games are bloody expensive to make, very few of them recoup their cost on retail sales alone. A season pass is entirely optional for the player and gives both parties a mutually beneficial transaction. It's less of a gamble than buying a AAA title off the bat because you will have presumably put more than two hours into a demo at that point and you'll know if you want more of it. Well in that case preach away, and uh good luck father ted. Just don't expect your audience to all lap it up. My shilling for EA is a self-deprecating joke, of course I don't shill for a company. I just don't have a problem with EA's recent change of face, enjoy the games they publish and that's that. But of course someone who doesn't see something through your eyes must be blind eh? Do me a favour though would you? If you are going to quote snip this post as well, don't bother replying. I'm not alt-tabbing for 10 minutes to read what you've posted and reply at the same time.

When S4 ended I couldn't be arsed to find a stream of S5 when it was airing so I kinda just left it.
I might go back at some point but it's not high on my list of watch this now.

Or if it's not metal gear enough, then why bother complaining about a company you don't care for at all?
well, because other people care for it, and that's a problem, because the more people support them, the higher the precedent is set--so whether or not you like the company, or the games it develops, shouldn't be a factor if we're making some kind of ethical argument
rest of your post was good though
Hmm sound enough counterpoint really.

Facetiousness aside, do you think that any major company/publisher/business online is even remotely receptive to whining anymore?
They care about two things:
1) Profit margins 2) Positive Feedback
#1 Speaks for itself #2 If you are confronted with a thousand posts by random users bitching about anything and everything are you inclined to actually read that? Say you go to skim it for giggles and in the mix of those thousand posts you see one that isn't just crying and is saying 'good job on XYZ, really enjoying it yadayadayada' After the end of reading/skimming those thousand posts, which one is going to stick out in your memory? The positive one or the nine hundred and ninety nine shitposts?
Whining at EA won't make a blind bit of difference at this point, they are trying to improve some of their practices and people could at least give them credit for it.
Don't buy the stuff you don't like, let them know what you do.
Or if it's not metal gear enough, then why bother complaining about a company you don't care for at all?

I get that EA is unpopular but people could at least cut them some slack for the good things they do rather than just shitting all over them like they are the worst company in America. Uhh. No.
Shitty practices should be criticised regardless of how many good practices are present. It's the only way we'll get Real Changetm.
Can't help but feel that you're slightly biased, Psy.
Uhh. Yes. Good practices should be commended regardless of how many bad practices are present. It's the only way to reinforce positive change. And of course I'm biased, what part of paid to shill for EA doesn't stand out as biased? This post was sponsored by EA Ronku.

The thing with reincarnation is that if it was the case then I'd remember previous lives and the like, the fact that I don't and nobody apart from a few attention seekers/basket cases do kind of puts paid to that in my book.
The notion of heaven is too nice to be real, which also puts hell in the deadzone.
I think when I die, I will rot away/burn to ashes/blow up (now that would be one hell of a funeral e.e) and that's that. I prefer to look at that sort of thing from a here and now perspective really.
What is the point in fretting over what happens when you die, being remembered or any of that because ultimately it is all inconsequential. You should live a good life and leave the world at peace, then that's that. Preferably leave the world a better place than it was when you entered it too, not by changing the world or anything silly like that but just help others, look after the planet/nature and don't cause suffering without a decent reason behind it (i.e being a dickhead for the sake of it)

Right so EA could have just stuck that in the season pass and said nut up or shut up, and yet they give it out for free and people still whine about them being greedy.
That's your 'cut content' right there, the rest will be being made post launch.

So it looks like Elsie has already handled this particular one but I think we'll look at shaping up the current guidelines on shitposting because it's just causing one headache after another at this point.
This is kind of a lesson in why we don't let psy write rules/guidelines/anything remotely official official because um... my style of writing is somewhat eccentric and leaves a little bit of a lot of loopholes in it.
There wasn't really a problem with what you typed out though, the problem was that it wasn't added to the rules, yet was made official and at the same time not stickied and left to falling off into some random page.
So Yu is well within his rights, abilities and duty. The fault is actually to do with neglect on the staff side of things.
That would be kind of what I meant, like it wasn't really clear to anyone because it vanished <_< Either way it could do with a touchup because we aren't having to deal with a constant stream of dire shitposts all the time now, just the occasional one. Mostly it's discussable shitposts that are getting cutdown like lazy workers at Krakow.

Something that occurred to me this morning, isn't the first DLC free for everyone anyway? Jakku something, or is it just a preorder bonus?
