I see the kneejerk reactionary force is out in full swing today.
This board is populated by white supremacists, pedophiles, and misogynists with no understanding of world politics or the nuanced nature of social systems. Did you really expect them to react in any other way than "massacre the brown menace?"
I'd point to poe's law on some of that really, I really doubt we have a horde of actual child molesting C18ers running around the place. A lot of it is said for parody/comedy to the point where it becomes half believed, other bits are just emotive.

everyone should do the Silver Shroud quest
How do you start it?
I kinda already cleared out hubris comics for whimsy.
I assume you got the outfit
Go to the memory den in Goodneighbor, look for a guy named Ken something. I can't recall his last name.
ye the axe tho That + power armour makes survival a breeze instead of a miserable rapetrain. Goodneighbour is good enough >.> sankyu

^Buy a recharger pack (the official one) as soon as you get the xbone. It'll save you a lot of money on AA batteries because the controller plows through them like a yank with a pile of doughnuts.

Charisma 6 = Necessary if you want to play settlers
When you are in Boston, look for a place called Swan's Pond. Take some rad X before you do, but try to swim to the bottom of the lake to find some cool stuff e.e
Try jumping
que
You never played Dark Souls?
oh
I played a bit of the first one, it's on my 'return to someday' list but I just had other games come out <.<
And by a bit I mean I got to the town where there are skeleton archers or something.
Basically people leave messages on the ground you can read and some jerks put "try jumping" at the edge of a cliff to trick new players.
ohhh yeah I saw some of those 'go left' = splat

MCC is broken, it's fine if you want to replay the Halo story/H2A but the MP was a mess and I'd be surprised if anyone is still playing it with the release of Halp 5.
Halp 5 is good, I'd say pick that up over MCC easily. I can't really think of any other exclusives worth going out of your way to get, most of the good games nowadays are multiplat.
Don't waste your money on the kinect, MS has thrown it under the bus and it's not going to suddenly resurge in usefulness.

So I was doing the main questline last night and I encountered a somewhat difficult fight.
Spoilers for the part after you find a certain belethor voiced synth and decide to go fuck shit up with him
Spoiler After tracking down kellogg and clearing my way through the fort, I got to the final fight and I wanted to just talk with the guy. Nope he just shoots you like han solo after the dialogue ends and on survival that's basically 'press X to die'.
So instead, I pulled out the fatman and suckerpunched the bastard with it.
It took 5 bloody mini-nukes to kill him. How the hell I would have done that fight in a more honourable manner I don't know.
I thought it was kinda funny though, using valentine as kind of... bait for the synth rape-machines and kellogg and just nuking the cluster of them repeatedly >_> the fight is very possible without nukes maybe you just SUCK lol jk are you playing it on hard? that might be it cuz well this is my first playthrough so i'm doing it on normal
Survival <.< I want that legendary loot e.e The two items I've got that are e.e/10 are a right and left leg that turn you invisible when crouching and slows down time on low health respectively. Stuff like that and a poisoned pipe rifle are just too delicious to pass up, the tradeoff of course is the spongey enemies from time to time and the uh utter rapetrains some of them run on you.

Also fuck the north east part of the map
That's like the one part of the map I haven't explored at all yet
Also most of the south east too
The map I got with the guidebook has a threat level heatmap. It radiates out from sanctuary down to the coast in the south east corner and it's kind of just bands of more and more nightmareish enemies >_> Going by the map, moving past boston before level 25 is probably going to end badly <.<

Wow, literally never heard of this until now. Are they just gonna let it run its course?
If it keeps running its course the fires will practically burn the respective islands they're on down.
But can they do anything to stop it? Can anyone?
It looks to large to be dealt with tbh
I think firebreaks might help slow or stop it, assuming the idiots in charge of this mess use axes and machines rather than flamethrowers to clear the land. There is no way they can dump enough water on this to stop it, so they'll probably have to make some lovely pleasant choices of what to save and how to direct the flames away from the important shit.

try saving a new file, exiting the game and re-entering it
Already have. In and out of power armour, tried vertibird and so forth.
I could just revert to my save from just before I went into the Institute but effort...
I've just got past the 'issue' with paladin danse and I've done too much to go back.
Well you've got the choice of forced immersion/unreal tedium or making up a few hours of lost time now.
Kinda shitty either way, but if it was me I'd just revert and put that down as a loss. A bitch now, but consider marching from sanctuary to the tip of the glowing sea later on.
I ended up reloading and now I'm trapped in the institute. Yay.
So now I'll have to reload my save. Won't be fun having to make up over a day of progress.
Edit: turns out I had ti finish the quest before I could go. 3 hours vs. 24 isn't as bad, thinkibg about it.

Do you shrink wrap books as a usual thing or is that just for shrink books?
I had two delivered today from the states, both in shrink-wrap which I found kinda amusing given that the books are on psychotherapy.
Is it normal to do this or is the dispatcher just having a giggle?

How big is the map compared to Fallout 3/NV?
Not as big but much more dense.
I dunno I'm looking at the poster/map I have of it, it's pretty sizeable. If anyone has the cell count for the two that'd be helpful, but I'd say it's bigger than 3 and NV (not combined), not by leagues but larger at least and certainly denser.
