I have never watched Dexter. Is it a good show?
It's a very good one, worth watching certainly.

Just skip S5 and stop after S6.

Seriously though, I imagine it'll eventually reach the same issue as Witcher 3 did for me. When you've done damn near everything, redoing the same shit over and over isn't really appealing.

I'm almost envious of my brother, who seemingly can play skyrim absolutely endlessly without getting bored. He maxes out a character (Not literally but like level 120 something) and then stops, makes a new character and plays it all over again. That's just something I've never been able to do.

Wtf.

I've only finished Skyrim once, got to level 50 and then got bored. I've only come back to it now, and the dungeon crawls and Empire/Stormcloak missions become tedious at best. Really want to see what the DLC is like though and I can't play that from scratch.
Yeah it's uh... weird.

The Flood / Re: Is faking a mental disorder considered a mental disorder?
« on: November 30, 2015, 12:15:18 PM »
Yes and no

There are some disorders where the faking of a disorder is a part of the actual disorder, in other cases it's just classed as malingering. Which can be part of another disorder.

It's all quite fun tbh

Huh I'm kind of interested in the books now
I would recommend them highly

Although it can get pretty confusing having watched the show as well, I got the two storylines muddled to high hell when discussing it with my friend a while back.

Don't get me wrong, I love the show but this is what I'd do if I were to rewatch it.

Season 1
Season 2
Season 3
Season 4
LOL
Season 6
Stop after Season 6.

The Flood / Re: I find it hard to not sympathize with Dexter
« on: November 30, 2015, 11:21:29 AM »
But yeah, Dexter certainly has a sympathetic cause.

I'd love the show a whole lot more (Like I used to) if it had followed the books on three plot points, not a word for word adaptation but it really killed it for me by the time the third one rolled into town.

Major spoiler discussion but i'll break it down into three parts
The two children, Astor and Cody - if you are on the final season you can open this
In the books the two children have their own dark passengers courtesy of their shithead father, a major focus of the story is dexter trying to lead by example and shape them as harry shaped him so that they don't end up on old sparky.

Apparently the thought of having two psychopathic children being shaped into serial killers was too daunting for the execs.
I can kind of overlook this but instead they turned astor into the typical tween trainwreck and then they never appeared again. That really pissed me off. Have them go to live with their grandparents after John Lithgow rids us of the megabitch and then never return. pls.

Deb, jesus fucking christ - if you are at least halfway through the final season you can open this
What. In. The. Fuck. Did. They. Do. To. Her.

In the books, Deb is aware of dexter being a serial killer/psychopath from his early days and frequently asks him for insight into murder cases because of this. Instead of the unpalatable prospect of a detective-sergeant/w.e getting protips from a serial killer, they throw in some fucking incest storyline. What the actual fuck.

That really made me mad, Deb goes from cool cop/10 to trainwreck brocon. It's disgraceful how they mauled her character.

Doakes - you can just open this one
He survives in the books and becomes a clanker with robotic prosthetics and the like, he spends his time stalking dexter and trying to fight him IRL but it's not easy being metal.

which I'm just about to finish on Netflix.
I'm so sorry you have to see that.
Oh

Is it that bad?
Yes

It's easily the shittiest ending I've seen, not just because of the way they wrap things up but just the general direction the show takes <_<

I'm doing a more detailed post with spoiler tags for different stages of the overall show tho, you should be able to read all of them if you are close to the final episode tho >.>

One is colloquial the other is common across the nation.

Otherwise Europeans learn American English because that's the one that actually matters.
lmao what
Talk to any German/Dutch/Swedish/Swiss/whatever person and you'll see they talk and write like Americans do.

Your version of English is retarded and dying off, not to mention irrelevant in the business world.

Fuck farmers tbh

We have floodlights nowadays, so they can't really complain about getting up in the dark anymore.

Giving the rest of the working population vitamin D deficiency because they don't leave the office until it's pitch black is more damaging than giving farmer palmer a broken neck when he slips on a cowpat.

I wouldn't say I've gotten bored with it, but I can definitely see how and why it would get that way.

removing tape from a dogs face is trivial
It's the fact she put it there in the first place you idiot.

Now go back to fetishing over your limb porn and trying to advocate fucking dogs. I don't think anything with regards to animals needs to be taken seriously from you.

Like verb said, it's ad hominem but i'll go there.
What is so awful about restricting it so it can't bark?
A muzzle does the same fucking thing yet you consider that humane.

also fucking lmao it's hilarious that you imitate verb immediately after my last post
I want you to do a little experiment for me.

Go and get some gorilla tape from the nearest DIY store.
Then wrap it around your bottom jaw and the top of your head, twice.
Then take it off.
Without scissors, water, soap or anything. Just rip it off.

See if you think that is in any way acceptable to do to a dog for anything, let alone fucking barking.

One of my dogs never shuts the fuck up, I mean never.
He's usually barking for a reason though, same way that babies cry for attention. If he doesn't need to go outside to piss, or is starving hungry because he didn't eat his dinner - you use a water squirter.
Harmless, unpleasant and above all safe to do so for your operant conditioning.
Short hair is very different from long hair with that junk. And I could gladly wrap that stuff around my thigh and say it's trivial.
The thigh is not as sensitive as your face and scalp, a dog's snout is a lot more sensitive than your leg.

The pain it will cause the dog is a lot more than you sticking some duct-tape on your leg, let alone the psychological pain of having it's owner do something so vindictive to the poor bastard.
Not so much behind the whiskers. The bridge and jaw are just skin over bone.
You did pass biology in school right?

Where exactly do you think the nerves in the whiskers travel to get to the brain?

A tesla-relay? Wifi?
Or along the bridge of the dog's face.
That's not how nerves work...the path to the brain isn't equally as sensitive as the original location...
Yeah no shit sherlock,

Because a muzzle can be put on and taken off without causing physical pain to the dog?
The pain of removing tape is trivial.
And I'm sure the pain of having a dick shoved up its ass is also trivial.
I think that'd cause psychological effects that make it non-trivial.
