One of the many reasons why I hate spain as a country is because of driving over the pyrenees in a people carrier (I was a passenger, given that this was 12 or so years ago)

Fucking tiny single track lanes carved into the side of a mountain with rocks and eagles dropping into the road willy nilly.

never again

If you didn't say Saving Private Ryan you're kidding yourself.
Or it was bad.

It wasn't and you're just sassy

I thought that stating the bloody obvious through studies was the preserve of psychology

nice to know the other pseudosciences are catching up e.e

Broken Homes, Broken Kids, Broken Wallets.
Oh please, psy, it's 2016. Strong independent black women don't need no man to help raise a fine child who will become a shining member of society and escape Harlem once and for all.
they should hand out free firearms instead of contraceptives tbh

Then why does it seem like a bad sign if it's included in a game?

It's a pretty normal feature for any game with a story.
Because I shouldn't want to skip any of the content in the first place...
I added some in an edit above this post but

I suppose that's more of a matter of how a person approaches content, for as long as I can remember whenever something like that came onto the TV/Film/Episode/Game or anything, I skipped forward past it.

I have no desire to see that kind of content, infact it's not just neutrality I really dislike seeing it. However it is a part of media because the wider audience are normie meatbags who get bored without boobs in their netflix dramas, so I could either refuse to watch shows that I would enjoy because of lewdity or I can carry on skipping past the smut.

Unfortunately it's not going away anytime soon, and until saudi arabia becomes a mainstream media consumer demanding saudi edits of content simulcast I have to put up with it.

Pretty much all of it is skippable like any other cutscene too, I can't really think of one I had to sit and watch rather than just press Square/X to skip.
I'd like to just add that having to skip a game's content is never a good sign.
Well you don't have to skip it, you can avoid it entirely but should you accidentally trigger one of the cutscenes they included a skip option for those who don't feel like watching it.

The same mechanism applies for all cutscenes too, you can fast forward/skip stuff if you don't want to watch/hear it. It's a way of letting the player decide whether they want to see that content or not, without making a censored edition of the game.
I understand how skipping works, thank you.

My point was that skipping the cutscene doesn't really do anything--it's still a part of the game.

Edit for the edit: True, however the game is adapted from a series of novels and those novels contain similar themes/events (I haven't started reading them yet mind you, but that's what I've heard). So I mean, I'm not gonna say CDPR should include them in the way that they do (You could do something similar with a fade to black euphemism rather than polygonal fornication) but they are keeping true to the source material by portraying geralt the way he was written.

The combat is a bit different yeah, but it's not clunky or unfair.
A lot of it can boil down to how you approach a fight, if you stick the right oils on your weapons and have the right potions/bombs to hand.

Also running in and spamming 'slash' will just get you killed, because you have to dodge, dance, parry, counter, roll and mix in ranged attacks too.

I mean if you play on easy you can do it with just Ser Lanceloting the lot of them but if you go any higher you do need to think a little bit before engaging.

The institute did nothing wrong.
Synths are WRONG
They are the next step in the evolution of life.
fukin psy and his sexbots
The next stage of life leaves such primitive forms of reproduction behind.

When evolution can occur in the same creature in a short space of time, with no need for copious genetic lineages then that is one step closer to perfection.
>not being a cyborg and wanting to be a total sexbot

Also, did someone say PERFECTION?

The denigration of the Omnissiah's gift is one of the worst trespasses against the divine.

Someone who looks like the offspring of a cactus and an 80s fashion designer is in no way divine.

Jealousy is experienced by biological life forms

Machines have no use for such primitive concepts of material desire.

I'm sure they're not optional for the right reasons.
what does this even mean?
Unlocking all the characters in Super Smash Bros. is "optional," too.

I'm saying I expect the game to treat it as a coveted reward, or some shit. Maybe I'm wrong.
That wasn't the impression I got from it

They are the sort of conclusion of romance lines with various characters/love interests of geralt, it's not a sort of 'oh hey you beat this mission so...'

Pretty much all of it is skippable like any other cutscene too, I can't really think of one I had to sit and watch rather than just press Square/X to skip.

The fact that they're optional just makes it even creepier, to be honest, but whatever.

I'm sure they're not optional for the right reasons.

They're probably "optional" in the same way that getting a super cool laser gun in Fallout is "optional."
Eh, the reason it's optional imo is to either
Give the player a choice of waifuing
or
Skip shit they don't want to see -> ala moi
