Editing because my wording of that was dire American Biscuits are pastry based then? Like a pasty or pie? Rather than scones which are bread-cake based? Because american biscuits look like a dead ringer for scones. 3605
The Flood / How do you pronounce scone?« on: January 11, 2016, 03:59:46 PM »
If you thought that the colour of your milk cap was important, it's completely trivial when it comes to the pronunciation of the word 'Scone'
So Are you a blue-blooded southerner, full of class and culture? Or a peasant from the northwilds, fit for shooting at and composting? For the yanks, a scone is what you call a biscuit. 3606

depends on the player count, any mods and what you plan to do with it.
1GB for vanilla with fwends 2GB for mods with fwends 4GB+ if you are going to be running a public server with a lot of players 8GB+ for that but with mods you can cheap out and do it with less but that^ is for the best quality 3628
Gaming / Re: Gaming laptops« on: January 06, 2016, 12:58:26 PM »
Mine ran Skyrim, Fallout and the like fine for a good few years but lately it's not doing so well with them.
I'd say get a decent one that'll last a few years, but long term you'll need a desktop for any serious gaming. Don't waste money on a super MLG hulk laptop because it will become obsolete and it's stupidly hard/nigh on impossible to upgrade a laptop from it's components because of the design <_< £600 was what I spent on mine 4 or so years ago, I forget, so spending the same amount nowadays would probably net you a more powerful machine. 3629
The Flood / Re: Anyone have experience with dog separation anxiety?« on: January 06, 2016, 12:50:22 PM »Egh, what humans do to dogs really does make my blood boil.If it was a rescue dog, chances are they were abandoned? (If you know the history, or if I'm barking up the wrong tree entirely then do say so) and that's obviously going to leave a mental scar on the dog, as it would with humans. The anxiety probably stems from that (if it's the case) so really unless the behavioural therapy classes work out it's just a matter of time and patience. Still though, he's got a good home now. Hmm, I think perhaps a reinforced crate then? It is a concern, I think really electric wires, chemicals and chocolate are the only stuff that'd be overly hazardous as opposed to just chowing down on a box of lego. So provided these things aren't readily available to chew, it should be sort of alright. 3630
The Flood / Re: Anyone have experience with dog separation anxiety?« on: January 06, 2016, 12:37:48 PM »
It was a rescue dog you got wasn't it? <.<
I would say try the behavioural therapy, I'd stop wasting your time with all the other stuff because it's not really going to do anything but confuse the poor bugger. Medication should be the last resort for obvious reasons, but eh if it comes to it then defer to the vet's judgement on that point. Our dogs were fairly bad for it a few years ago, but they did eventually settle down without us really changing anything. I think it was just that they needed the reassurance and stability of a normal household for a while. If it was a rescue dog, chances are they were abandoned? (If you know the history, or if I'm barking up the wrong tree entirely then do say so) and that's obviously going to leave a mental scar on the dog, as it would with humans. The anxiety probably stems from that (if it's the case) so really unless the behavioural therapy classes work out it's just a matter of time and patience. They'll trash the place for a while, piss on everything and be distressed but eventually that does start to change when they realise you will be coming back every time you leave <.< |
