I'm not arguing semantics though, just highlighting which version of broken I was using since there seemed to be some confusion.
Sure thing, but I have a suspicion that If I had continued to try and really convey what I was thinking when I posted that, shit would have devolved into semantics. It's w/e.
Well I mean I got your point, it works quite nicely for galactus and his chums so I doubt they would consider it broken in the slightest.

And it is subjective too, because it depends an awful lot about what it's being compared to.

but yeah

If you get some silly broken OP powers
They must not be very broken if they're OP.
um

they can be

If something is broken it doesn't mean it's just shattered, a gun that is broken in a game refers to how it breaks the game balance by existing.

so broken OP weapons = so overpowered they ruin the rest of the game/film/universe/book/etc
I don't particularly see how someone could believe that an intangible power/ability could be broken physically like a tangible object, but okay.

However, from the perspective of Galactus or his heralds, I wouldn't consider their power to be broken considering how it seems to do exactly what they want it to do for them.

As for the perspective of the reader, it's all subjective I suppose, whether or not shit is imbalanced.
No it's slang

A broken object =/= A broken concept

A broken concept ruins the balance of things by being horribly overpowered, breaking any kind of fair fight into a one sided slaughter.

Battlefield 3 has a nice example
You have flashlights with the power of a caged sun - they blinded everyone with no counter
This was broken because it mean nobody could see you if stuck a torch on the end of your gun

Whereas something that is just overpowered, like the M16A3, just ruins game diversity because everyone gravitates towards it.
lol you don't need to argue semantics, I was using broken in the literal context of the word.

With the sole condition that I get to exist in the 40k universe too.

Those tau motherfuckers are gonna have one hell of a shoah to deal with.
Well becoming a herald would boost you pass most 40k factions since the Power Cosmic = OP.
that's the point

If you get some silly broken OP powers (Although sadly C'tan > all APART FROM THE EMPEROR) then you can use them to help dig the imperium out of the stalemate.

Tau
Orks
Eldar
Tyranid infestations
Necron tomb worlds

Then when they are all buggered, just point the big guy to the eye of terror and tell him to go nuts.
After he's eaten all of them, the chaos gods will eat him and bewp.
Suddeenly the universe is a nice and clean place e.e

The cadians just need more pylons.
Chaos full Galactus is more powerful than the Chaos Gods >.>
So is the emperor though

Also, the costs for this sort of thing would be astronomical.

And can you imagine the potential for abuse of this sort of thing?

God, there's so many underlying issues with this. Why would anybody want this?
In my view, it's only trading one set of issues for another.

Robots are vulnerable to water (generally speaking) whereas humans aren't, but you can operate a robot in the void or a toxic enviroment without too many issues.

Computer viruses would be no different to human diseases, some are minor annoyances and some are fatal.

Or say someone damages the data or parts of your robot body, that's no different to GBH.

The big differences would just be how durable your new form is and whether or not you want shiny laser eyes to go with it.

We also have two main story objectives.

We can either go to the coordinates located in Australia from one of the codex brains we looted or we can go to a processing plant in Africa.
I'd go to Australia.
Straya is already hell on earth, I can't imagine a gribbly invasion has improved the place <_<
Yeah no kidding, but there obviously something at the location.
An ambush <_<
You say ambush, I say more bodies.

« on: February 13, 2016, 07:37:07 PM »
Fallout 3 was good, Skyrim still sets a benchmark for modern games, and Fallout 4 looks to be packed with an obscene amount of content. I'm getting pretty sick of these mopey threads talking about how shitty Fallout 3 was supposed to be, how boring Skyrim is (hint: if you're bored in Skyrim, you're a boring fucking person and there's no fixing that), and how supposedly bad Fallout 4 will be.

If a game keeps me interested and immersed for long periods of time then it's doing something right imo. I think the only time I get bored of Skyrim is when I don't play it for a long stretch of time then come back to it and feel a bit lost. I know it's lacking in a bunch of areas but it's so damn fun.

I did end up giving up on Fallout 4 though, it lost my interest :(
Yeaaah I know that feeling.

I dunno why, it just felt a lot more... shallow for some reason.

Whenever I start walking somewhere I usually get bored halfway through my journey and quit

Also settlement building got increasingly tedious
yup

it's a damn shame because it has so much promise

but whilst playing it all i could think about was just getting FNV running on a good PC with a few good mods and bewp - perfect.

damn shame

As much as I like seeing new things, a return to somewhere like New Vegas with new gameplay and stuff would be amazing. New Vegas's atmosphere and aesthetic was great, I love that kind of shit.

Hell, RDR showed that Westerns can still be fucking amazing when done right so a big open world Western RPG could be pretty rad even if it isn't Fallout
Yeah I mean if they spliced fallout 4's mechanical improvements into something like FNV then i'd be plugging in an IV and getting a literal shitbucket

can we send this to Bethesda
weeeeeell

i doubt they'd listen tbh
