after I got the shiny charm it was pretty easy to get anything I wanted in shiny (breeding)
I dunno. I've been doing the Masuda Method for all my competitive Pokemon for years and I still haven't gotten a shiny out of it. Maybe I'm just extremely unlucky with shinies...

I MM'd for a shiny protean greninja, took about 450 frogs
Well I've bred ~30 competitive Pokemon in total, and it generally takes anywhere from 1-3 boxes per pokemon depending on if I'm starting out with the right nature or not. So I guess you can say I've hatched around 1800 eggs and still haven't gotten a shiny out of it.
ouch that's a pretty rough number tbh I managed to breed a shiny treeko for tblocks in 12 eggs once RNGesus is a coon tbh

has any gameplay even been shown?
It was shown to youtubers and press types at a closed session prior to the reveal, so they've been able to relay details about what the game itself is like rather than just what the trailer contained. Most of them have played it as well, given player/community feedback and it's been noted by DICE (from what they've said). If you want to see/hear details about the gameplay before they officially show off any gameplay footage then JackFrags and Levelcap are the best youtubers to follow for news atm
