yes

It was good fun playing with my brothers but they kept on jacking the prices up and up and up until I just couldn't stomach keeping up with it. Then they started flossing their cheeks with some of the lore and making ayylmao tier armies and rules and it just lost all appeal.

It looks slightly less horrendous than my initial impressions made of it, but even so it's just not what I wanted to see from DOW3 at all.

What were you hoping to see?
DOW1 with next gen graphics basically

Rather than ditch the mobashite, they just made it slightly less offensive. I doubt I'll buy it, at least not until I see the hammer of the emperor in the game.

In about 15 years I might get one
I was thinking 'maybe at the end of season 2' if they didn't change anything, i've got 30 something points and i'll be getting 80 as a reward (I was so close to the 120 though ;-;) but if that 30 doesn't turn into 300 and the 80 in 800

and i'm left with 100/3000 to go
i'll probably give up tbh
I'm fairly certain they're going to multiply what we have by 10

This just did this so they could reward a tie and psychologically 10 or 5 points feels more rewarding than 1 or 1/2 a point
I hope they do, I mean overall I'm very impressed at how well they know how to make overwatch fun and rewarding, even if randoms are frustrating retards at times.

Fingers crossed eh

What is Bethesda's fetish with this Minecraft tier shit? Like who honestly wanted this in a Bethesda title, and why are they shilling it full force?
At this point I don't care if they improve it, I don't want to see Settlements in a Fallout game again.
I like settlements but I fully agree, there is nothing wrong with a bit of custom base building but going whole hog with all this stuff is bleeeeeeeh

Fuck Winter Assault lol. That bit with having to move your people across the countless waves of enemies pissed me off.
I managed to pull through that after a few tries, it's the subsequent section that has been giving me trouble. It is impossible to mass enough forces to successfully hold off the Ork advance within the time span allotted.

To properly hold off the Orks and their looted Leman Russ tanks, you yourself need to build Lehman Russ tanks. To build those you need to develop the Leman Russ manufacturing tech for the vehicle building unit. To develop that, you need to research another perk. To research that perk, you have to upgrade the Stronghold/HQ. Then, in addition to all of that, you have to build power generators, defense turrets, listening posts (and then upgrade them), and finally build more infantry units (and then research and develop better armaments, protection, and perks for them).

With the additional factor of flawed human reaction time, the task becomes impossible.
It's been a while since, so I might be thinking of dark crusade stuff but can't you just get a bunch of heavy weapons teams out?
They should be Tier 2 and Lascannons make mincemeat of any armour fielded against you.

If they were added in DC though, disregard^
Yeah they are a DC addition
Damn, they'd really save the day there.

Sentinels might help then if they are in it, they have a lascannon mount too so you can rush them out early to rinse armour.

For those of you who have it and aren't riddled with salt over the well established problems, can anyone say what the AI is like firsthand?

The fauna not the combat stuff, do they roam around doing the same sort of generic actions on a loop or do they seem to actually do something moderately interesting?
There was a tiger with wings on one of the ice worlds in my system that walked back and forth near me when I was mining gold. It eventually ran towards me and attacked.

There's also this tropical world in my system that has giant spider/crab looking creatures and I noped outta there before I got out of my ship.
From a distance though, do they do anything like an ordinary ecosystem?

Predators hunting prey, family units, herds, travelling from A-B etc?
I haven't spent a great deal of time watching one herd but when I do there is usually a good mix of adult / child versions of the animals. The ratio of each usually depending on how dangerous they are. I've seen predators attack their prey as well... RIP baby Shelled Owot.

The AI is pretty decent as far as I can tell.
Hmm

It's kinda the lure of this game for me, being able to go around and observe weird new forms of life (attenborough childhood ;-;7) the thing that makes me cautious is if the AI is dull and after a few planets they all follow basically the same pathing it'd be a bit of a disappointment.
If that's what you're looking for I'd be a bit wary although it does it better than any other game I've seen....

Mostly because no other game does that sort of thing. lol
Indeed, kinda why I haven't bought it already.

I'll just keep skimming videos for a while, see what i make of it but it's hard to get a glimpse when most people just shoot everything in sight for fun.

It'd be nice if they'd improve the Play of the Game to be a little smarter than just "several kills in rapid succession". I haven't even played all that much and I'm already getting bored with how half of the PotG's are just McCree pressing Q twice or Genji swinging through a few people from the back. Smart / inventive / unique / clutch plays with the more atypical heroes should be valued more than others, in my opinion. Hantzo taking down 2 enemies from a long distance to secure the game during overtime or Mercy getting a clutch kill followed by reviving half the team should matter a lot more than McCree automatically wiping 3 enemies by the press of a single button.
this is something they've been tweaking for awhile and will probably keep tweaking forever. It's much better now than it release already. I agree with you that kills with certain Ultimates are waaaay too prioritized. Yeah if a genji can kill 6 people with an ult he probably deserve POTG but I Mcree getting a high noon double kill really isn't impressive
It always pleases me to see a zenyatta make it to POTG with his healing ult, sure it's not the most cool looking bodycount but saving the day with the hugs deserves it more than junkrat's incredibly boring 'start yer engines hurrrrrr 2 kills' combo.

I can add details for the supports cause that's what I tend to gravitate to (other than dadtrooper)

Mercy
Best direct healer, you can enable a setting where the beam snaps onto your target for heals and that makes life a lot easier on your hands. She'll restore someone's maiming pretty quickly and can fly to them from a fair distance too. Damage boost is one of the best team-work buffs, you stick that onto someone using their Ult or just onto soldier 76 and you'll feel the body count start to pile up.
Ult - Revives the whole fucking team after you just killed them all ytho, so make her a priority target in any fight.

Zenyatta
Weird robot, he's got really nasty DPS but slow movement speed/dogshit agility. His healing orb is a sticky buff that you can lob across the map to team-mates, the discord orb you chuck onto enemy tanks and turn them into paper-maché for team-mates to clean up (or your DPS to shred).
Ult - Heavy dose of heals and cocaine, he moves like a bat out of hell and will pretty much cockblock any enemy ult damage that isn't OHK (like D.va or Junkrat). Kinda squishy and hard to play as but he can be a real asset for an offensive team pushing an objective.

Symmetra aka 'Tower of Sads'
She puts these little annoying turrets everywhere that slow you and do damage, not a lot but it stings. You may run into rooms of sadness which have 6 of the things hidden on the ceiling in the doorway so you walk in and can't walk out because of the slowing effect of them all. Her teleporter is invaluable for getting the team back into the fight on control point or defense but not a great one for offense. Her gun is magnetic laser sort of deal that latches onto people in CQB or it fires blobs of annoyance at a reinhardt's shield (it goes through).

Lucio
MVP for control point, his passive area-heal helps keep everyone ticking over a bit and then his cocaine buff will rush your team onto the point at the start of a round/midway etc. His ult is perfect for pushing or saving allies from an enemy ult, even blocks d.va and junkrat tyres from what i saw peach doing earlier. He's also a slippery bugger and can leap all over a payload and be really quite hard to hit without AOE/volume of fire so he's good for contesting.

Ana
Ana is a weird support and bugger all nobody seems to use her correctly (hurr imma snipe with her), but when you do run into them jesus you'll remember it. When that glowing red reinhardt starts pushing your entire team's shit in singlehandedly, that's because of Ana. She doesn't do a lot of damage and is pretty fucked in CQB unless they get a lucky sleep dart off, but she'll keep a steady rate of healing on team-mates from a long distance out, or harass enemy players setting up somewhere high to be a nuisance (the bleeding effect of her bullets makes people antsy).
Her playstyle is basically
Heal team -> charge ult -> give ult to any of the following
Soldier
Reinhardt
Roadhog
Zarya
Reaper
Winston

Bonus points for using her ult on another ult stacked with mercy's damage boost. Cleaned up a whole team with soldier the other day thanks to a nano-mercy damage stack.

She's pretty much an enabler character, you use her to make your team-mates go ham but you won't be pulling off POTGs and killing sprees with her. I wouldn't recommend her if you haven't got a communicating team and even then it depends a fair bit on what characters your team is using.
