Death Note really seemed like Light was going to fuck shit up, but no. No you can't have someone purging the earth of the scum :/
On top of that, the show nosedives when L gets BTFO. It killed off the Holmes/Moriarty thing they had going and the whole justasplanned and replaced it with some precocious little whelp and the CIA. Light turns into a complete nutter and it's just... ugh.
Failed potential in my opinion.
Spoiler That motherfucker, Teru Mikami, been a damn long time since I've seen the show but I remember that ass being sloppy fucked Light. Fuck that guy, seriously, he's a goddamn piece of shit.
Yeah, I never actually managed to finish it.
I watched up to the bit where Near(?) is trying to be L and I just gave up after several episodes of dissatisfaction. I read the ending on a wiki/watched the original clip rather than the MADs and I was glad I didn't waste more time finding out that it ends badly.
Just, ugh.
I remember someone on Bnet, Burrito I think, saying that the film takes a different path and doesn't end in the same manner so that might be watchable at some point, but ehhh.
No, it's not failed potential. It used its potential to the fullest, but chose to be realistic, and thus provided a much more hated version that I'm content with.
It'd have been kind of disgusting if Light would've been able to remain his cool-headed- and full-potential self.
Time to study psychology if you fail to realize my point.
*in my opinion* Pretty sure that was stated clearly. Not for me, I think it would have made for a better story. I wouldn't care if it went into the realms of stretching the imagination where he took over the planet/died trying. But instead he dies shrieking like a cat in a shitty warehouse. If he'd kept his head, but been still been taken down with some sort of outsmarting plotline then that would have been much more satisfactory than him just going UUUUUUTEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Pretentious and irrelevant.

Maybe it's just because they stick in my head more clearly, but it does seem like I tend to be happier with the ending of wibbly shit more often than not <.< I'm trying to think of a few more but I can't really do so because a lot of the things I'm hoping for a good ending on are still ongoing in one shape or another. The ones that I'm holding out hope for a decent enough ending are Gaunt's Ghosts Justified And for futile hope that will no doubt be crushed - ASOIF/GOT God damn, this was fucking brilliant. Even if the show hasn't quite ended yet, this certainly deserves a mention. (Thanks meta)

Western Society is hardly a rape culture, considering how there is almost universal revulsion for rapists here. I don't think so. If one of them deliberately got the other hammered, drugged them or w/e then yeah I'd say that's rape just the same as surprise butseks. If you want to see a real rape culture, I believe India can be labelled one without too much dispute given how rampaging bands of wankers seem to just be raping and killing women on the streets/buses/boats/houses with *almost* impunity. Until they get caught then they are hanged, which isn't exactly a bad thing in my book.
A murder can happen out of rage or passion, people can be reformed from that. I'm pretty sure you don't pin someone down and fuck them with a 2x4 because you were angry. They do it once, they'll more than likely do it again and it's not fair to unleash them back on the public.

Tipping gives employees incentives to work. Want more tips? Perform quality and speedy work for the guests. Without tips, you get paid the same regardless the amount of people served and regardless of how well you perform. Many people who do work of tips are either in high school or college and plenty of people can earn 2x, 3x, even 5x the hourly wage other employees get a day
In Britain, we give them tips and they get a minimum wage salary too. It's just not a cultural expectation for you to directly pay for the salary of an employee who works in a business you are eating at. It's skinflintery on the part of the business. They sure as hell can, but that doesn't mean they will. Reliable income >>> Russian roulette income.
