Serious / Re: Obama to Propose 2 Years of Community School for 'Free'« on: January 10, 2015, 01:02:48 PM »Now really, stop it dustin. Is it even immoral though? It's not like society needs them or anything. And if no one finds out about it then no one's feelings are hurt.I laughed, but this is still the serious board dustin. I *hope* this was meant in jest.Or you know just kill off the poor and put the blame on someone we don't like. And I know exactly how we could do it. We start by putting a chemical in the water supply that's poisonous to humans. We then tell the public by the internet not to drink from the water supply. The poor people without internet then die and we blame it on the terrorists.which is likely the fault of their previous (lack of) education. Poor schools don't exactly provide the best guidance. Does that mean we shouldn't try to help them? It's beneficial to break the cycle of poverty and poor education, for both them and us.of course. But the people who qualify for free community college probably don't know how to go about getting such assistance.I'm sure there are already ways of acquiring financial assistance.Point is, if people don't intelligently choose a degree, they shouldn't be surprised when they're jobless in the future. And the government shouldn't be helping out people who can't bother to do that. This is about people who can't afford to go to school in the first place. Spoiler I agree though, if we kill off all of the poor then everyone is rich and happy. 10717

It's just a courtesy whilst the joke is explained to loaf.
However, that is correct and the new rules aren't quite familiar yet <.< Calling out the mods is however, still against the rules. 10726

Loaf, RC's running joke is homophobia and it certainly seems convincing to people who aren't used to it. Just letting you know that he's not a complete jackass <.< RC, I'd drop the joke for now. Not completely but just for this sort of thing. 10727

The Flood / Re: What makes a song good for you?« on: January 10, 2015, 11:06:37 AM »
I think it's probably the melody for me, the lyrics are still important enough but I'd say the *sound* of a song takes precedence over the words. Not that they don't matter, but it's just not the primary concern <.<
The more technical/complex aspects don't really appeal to me, I know some people love to listen to things that to the layman just sound like a pack of Noise Marines trying to kill a guardsman but... eh... -Unrelated chip in- Synthesised music is perfectly capable of producing emotions, however it's a bit hit and miss because it tends to rely more on the skills of the composer/writer to overcome the robotic barrier as it were >.>A good beat, nice guitars/bass and an intelligent/beautiful message in the lyrics. You say guitars and bass, which adds another interesting angle to the question. Does what you're hearing have to be "real"? Do you tend to prefer music that isn't electronic? Do you think that electronic music is incapable of producing real emotion or whatever? My pet hatred is of fanatical music purists who dismiss things they don't like because it's not 'real' enough for them. 10729

If he's dying, then that does indeed suck. Nobody deserves to be cut down early like that.
However, he doesn't have a great track record of truthfulness so I don't hold it against people to be sceptical over it. There is a fine line between being a jackass yourself and being sceptical though <.< 10731

Wonderful.
Now Gaza being subject to another bongarong like the one last summer is going to be justifiable even to me. *sigh* Well not quite, but lately I'm finding it harder and harder to maintain much sympathy. And I'd really like to see Boko Haram get wiped out, preferably before ISIS too. 10733
