Even though the thread is dead, since there was a report I guess I should post something.

Sandtrap, even though you raised a very valid point about dustin's posting habits in the serious board it's still a little bit offtopic and a little bit brash. I don't see this thread being rejuvenated but still, here is a verbal slap on the wrist what with this being the serious board and all.

Dustin, it's hard for you to take the highground over conduct in the serious board when you frequently wipe your arse with the rules and bait like you were born to do so.

You should join sep7agon and get away from those mods

Nah, I heard the mods there are banhappy nazis.
Not really. Pretty much nothing ever gets caught because there's so much activity there. I once typed meatspin.com and a moderator edited it so the link didn't work, rather than banning me.
Damn, lenient and nazis then.
Hypocrites the lot of them.

Too late mang. I figured out your lunch schedule.

Note to mods: Make sure doge walking and lunch eating schedules do not collide. Challenger must not be allowed to go fast.

Is it like a pulled muscle?
Don't think so. I played football for the first time in a few weeks for a few hours yesterday. Usually they'd be fine, but after not playing for a while they're rather sore.

Ahh, yeah that's just normal aching <.<

You could have a bath, that usually helps muscles recover. Only other way to sort it out that I know of it just to grin and bear it >.>

The law of Sympathetic Magic, as it's the law of Contagion and Similarity combined in a social situation?

I'm unfamiliar with the terms <.<
Shite, I have to commute. I'll get back to this and edit this post.
I've already spent time researching it, might as well finish the fight.

No worries, I've got to walk my dogs so I'll be afk for a bit too <.<
Post it when you get a chance and I'll have a read >.>

Q1: No, that's normal
Q2:Yeah, gross af

What is "Cognitive dissonance" for 800.

Heh, close <.<
Turns out I was actually misremembering two seperate paragraphs, I just checked the book and it was describing this thought experiment devised by Allport in '55 and then a seperate experiment done by Rozin later on which included interpersonal disgust as the concept >.>
Alright, so it seems as if the worry is about sociability. Someone may be able to see you drinking a glass of your own spit, but your mouth processes are confined to you yourself. The only issue would then be how others perceive you, and not the act of drinking the spit-water itself?
I just noticed I mispelled separate twice in a row, brb committing sudoku.

And I don't think that was the thinking behind the experiment, it was explained as being more to do with how we are disgusted by things that have been 'contaminated' as a general reflex to avoid disease IIRC. So when someone is vomiting, bleeding, weeping, oozing god knows what all over the floor - the reaction is to move away from it rather than to start rolling around in it <.<
Oh, alright. The word "interpersonal" got me thinking about what changes behavioral differences between isolated individuals and those in a group.
Indeed <.<
It's what threw me off a little in Ekman's book, because the two paragraphs kind of just blended together a bit too much <.<

Mongrels might be Mongrels but they are still generally healthier specimens when compared to pure-breed dogs. Genetic diversity is a good thing after all.

I guess so.

Pure Bread dogs are healthier.
they really aren't
Seriously. Pure-bred animals have MORE health problems.
shouldn't you reply to the other guy
I think he was just adding on from what you had said.

I was in class so I took out a bottle of water I had. Once I got to part two I decided against physically doing the experiment lol.

Also I'm assuming you are supposed to find it not gross when it's in your mouth but suddenly gross once you spit in your water, which I did think. I've never heard of this before though, so interesting!

Yup, that's exactly how it works <.<
