I don't understand how it could be considered not a shock image. It's leagues worse than just pictures of gore. And it's much, much worse than the "harassment" that usually goes on here. If someone calls you a name, you can just ignore it. You can't "ignore" a horror face like that. Unlike other harassment, this actually affects me outside of the site.
But regardless of your interpretation of the shock images section of the rules, thanks for doing something about this specific incident. You're the best.
Yeah, that's the bit I didn't want to specify in my comment/action because it's something of a discussion. For example, gore doesn't bother me in the slightest but that doesn't mean I don't edit it out when it turns up. I wouldn't say JTK is worse than gore to the average user, but if it affects you badly then yeah that's understandable. Someone using it to get a reaction out of you though, is less of a grey area and more of a problem. Hence the action over that and the discussion over this <.<

Spoiler I'm guessing this is a question on classical conditioning, where people are being asked to pair the unconditioned stimulus, the saliva, with a neutral stimulus, the water. Over time, if something like this were to continue, the backwash would become a conditioned stimulus, making you fear drinking the substance. I may be wrong though, been a while since I studied psych stuff, been having to get back into the groove of it in a class that uses applied psych in teaching.
That's not quite the application for it, but it's possible to do something along those lines if you have the time/effort/lack of morality and ethics to do so  This was more to do with how when something that one second is residing inside your mouth without being gross, the next second it causes them to go 'ew'. The rest of the extract from the book was to do with how younger children haven't developed a sense of disgust properly, which is why they are able to eat things like spiders with wanton glee. There was also a smaller study done where they dropped sterilised insects into milk/juice which would ordinarily stop most people drinking it but the kids just chugged that shit down >.>

I still find it rather hard to believe that what appeared to be the best potential ally in the middle east for the west, was blown off for a country that actively funds the people trying to kill us. (Saudis)
Iran might be a theocracy but it's at least not run by people who are completely insane. Pimpslap diplomacy is just going to end up with them getting a nuke anyway and having a grudge that might make them more prone to using it.
The only place I can think of that just shouldn't have nukes ever is north korea, because it's run by an infantile fatso who probably wouldn't think twice about actually using one.

My Dad refuses to buy pugs on the account that they are essentially bred to have breathing difficulties, and any other dog that are the unfortunate product of selective/in-breeding.
Hell, I'm still amazed that Cruft's Dog Show still goes on as it is, albeit some minor changes to the rules so that you can't create a cute dog at the expense of fucking it's quality of life up. (Anymore than being the pet of a Cruft's competitor can, as well as the centuries of breeding have already done).
I do love pugs, but yeah I'd never buy one because they are an abberation against natural selection. Supporting people breeding them to be like that is pretty messed up, I wouldn't however have a problem with adopting them <.<
