Some of you may already know my general opinion/stance on recreational drugs, it can be summed up in two words. Absolutely Haram.
The closest I've ever come to an issue would perhaps be painkillers, just OTC ones which I had to have for several months. All the while wondering about if I was going to end up addicted to the bloody things. Turns out I wasn't, I came off them after about 6-7 months of prolonged usage without a single hitch. It caught me by surprise though, because I'd have thought that considering my mother's propensity for addiction (Alcoholism/Chain Smoking) and how I can see it manifesting in my brother (Online games, facebook shit) I'd have been in the at risk category. But it looks like I was dealt a decent hand of cards for my genetics <.<
So I was able to drop them cold turkey overnight and I didn't have a single physical or mental symptom of withdrawal.
That all being said, not everyone is that lucky. Some people are born with a predisposition to addiction, it's not a matter of being weakwilled anymore than being born without legs makes you lazy. You get dealt a hand of genes and you get some good ones and some bad ones, some people are born with that predisposition and if they are then born into an environment conducive to addiction it's basically an uphill battle from the get-go.
People who are addicted have a medical problem, not a lack of morals or willpower. Yes, willpower does factor into it but at the same time it is not the be all and end all of addiction matters. And that willpower itself is likely determined by your upbringing/genetics too.
So if someone is addicted to anything judging them for it is as flat out retarded as blaming someone for getting cancer.
Now if I get some more time later, I can go and drag up the sciencey shit for all this^

BF4 is the only game I want to e in a clan on so we can have loads of different squads that actually follow commander's orders.
It would be glorious. If we had more people if suggest a BF4 game night. I'm thinking about renting a server, if enough people are interested, we could have a Sep7 server.
Little bit off topic, but I was in a clan of some of the finest shitbuckets I ever met and even then people weren't too great at following orders when we went into a public match. Usually because the commander was a trog but hey <_< It worked well for small unit tactics though, two five man squads on different comms channels with the squad leaders talking to each other meant we crushed the bejeesus out of every game we played (Barring one or two obviously, nobody is flawless forever lol) *sigh* Lotta fond memories of playing with them, but it all just sort of disintegrated over the summer as people got bored/busy/new games etc :/

Ethically/Morally - Without a doubt. Forcing toxic substances onto another living creature that you are supposed to be looking after is wrong. If you care so little for the wellbeing of your future child then do yourself and it a favour and just get an abortion.
The legal side of this was covered in a thread I made a month or so ago, which was to the effect of jailing the mother and taking away the baby can be more harmful than the damage wrought during the pregnancy (Can be, not will be).
Either way, it's disgraceful behaviour.

If you do, you're no fun nazis and no one will want to come here, but I think keeping a better eye on it, just merging threads and having some sort punishment for people consistently making shitpost threads might do something to help that.
It doesn't need to change much though, Serious only needs to be kept for Political/Religious discussion so to keep massive shitposting out of those threads.

Not exactly, but apparently that's the direction people are hellbent on taking.
It's the direction it needs to go.
Example, when he first joined, Espira made a couple of threads about things like dreams iirc in the Serious board because he wanted them discussed as such.
Not bad reasoning, but that's what causes the lack of proper posts on the Flood, keeping Serious to the two types of threads leaves the Flood to grow and Serious to be a place comfortable to certain types of people like Meta.
A win win.
I don't completely disagree, but it's the extent to which it does that I'm arguing for. A clearer criteria of what is allowed in serious suits me fine, but I don't want to see certain topics consigned to the flood in a futile attempt to clean this place up. Wiping up the shittiest shitposts will do that, sending the non-serious serious threads back here will but leaving stuff like science/maths threads to be posted in serious or the flood rather than slamming the door to serious on them.

This is unofficial because it's just to get some rough thoughts from the denizens of the flood forum. It's not a poll, I just want to hear what you guys think. I've put my rough opinion on this in the spoiler but post your own thoughts before reading it. My personal opinion aside, as a part of the discussion what do you think is wrong with the flood board (if anything)? And what would you do to fix it? Psy's opinion Currently serious is under the knife because there is the idea to cut bits out of there to save the flood from being a truly dire place, but I'm not seeing this. Nor do I think that sending stuff like maths threads or science threads here is going to make anything better.
