Serious / Re: Gun control laws in Europe failing; police outgunned by Jihadists« on: January 31, 2015, 06:33:43 PM »Instead of just screaming YEEHAW and riddling the guy with bullets.Probably would've been preferable, to be honest. I'm not so sure, IIRC the guy had some mental problems (As do most people who wave machetes in the street, without screaming allah akbar) so shooting him like a dog is far too american for my tastes. 10098
Serious / Re: Gun control laws in Europe failing; police outgunned by Jihadists« on: January 31, 2015, 06:19:50 PM »Now, I'm a decently pro-gun control advocate. I don't mind gun ownership in and of itself. I've heard that police in Europe don't carry guns which, quite frankly, does sound a bit... well, I don't really know how an officer of the law is supposed to carry out their duty without a gun. YouTube Something a bit like this^ Notice how everyone walks away from that alive <_< Instead of just screaming YEEHAW and riddling the guy with bullets. 10099
Gaming / Re: Favorite Warhammer 40k group?« on: January 31, 2015, 06:14:18 PM »Hmm yeah, I would perhaps hazard a guess at it being explained through some fragments or backup code being kept safe. IIRC it was pretty resistant to the scrapcode attacks, so it's unlikely to have been fried that way. I have to say it's been a while since I've read the early HH books. With a series 30+ books long it gets pretty daunting to embark upon a re-reading >_>So goddamn cool ;__; The forge gets chucked into the lava right? Perhaps some of it was recovered from void shield safes later on, or looted by the dark mechanicus and then recovered by the loyalists. Or a more simple answer is it's just a plothole lol. I really liked the noosphere though, so having it return in 40k after it was supposedly lost was quite nice >.> 10101

Gaming / Re: Favorite Warhammer 40k group?« on: January 31, 2015, 03:01:22 PM »So goddamn cool ;__; Hehe <.< Yeah there is a bit of debate as to whether the dragon of mars, which is canon/confirmed to be a shard of the C'tan (The void dragon) is infact the omnissiah or whether it's the Emperor himself. Infact it's the same book that canonifies the Emperor as the omnissiah (When he basically heals a broken battle-mech with his touch, like jesus but 10000x cooler). And considering it's also long established canon that the Emperor beat the living snot out of the dragon of mars and dragged it's sorry hide from earth to the noctis labyrinthus (Where it's currently sleeping). So I would personally lean towards the Emperor being the Omnissiah, because he is basically a god anyway and if he can do miracles like make a printer work when he needs it to, or heal a crippled mech with his hands then ye. Buuuut there was also another book, done slightly later than this^ one. Where they supposedly uncover evidence that the Emperor is not the Omnissiah but decide to destroy it because going public with it would destroy the mechanicus in civil war and cripple the imperium along with it >_> But, whether or not Titanicus is considered as canon as Mechanicus is up for a bit of debate. And the evidence could always have been the work of the Eldar, The deceiver or one of the chaos gods >_> 10104

Gaming / Re: Favorite Warhammer 40k group?« on: January 31, 2015, 01:59:37 PM »IIRC the necrons killed damn near everything when they were at their prime so then they got bored and went into stasis in all the tombs. Then over the course of milennia many of these tomb worlds failed/broke/were destroyed which thinned out their numbers even more. Their programming/purpose has become skewed too, for some of them. Like Cortana going rampant. Then there is the whole bit where they are still mostly slumbering >_>YeNecrons are fucking cool If anyone is going to be able to stop the tyranids, it's going to be the necrons unfortunately. GW kind of went overboard with the gribblies and made 40K pretty set in stone how it will end unless they introduce something just as OP/buff the necrons and then let the stalemate continue lol. 10107
