Whatever you do, it is essential that you aren't an early bird.
Because when you are, you'll be the first person to find the decapitated deer left in the post office by some kids last night. The unspoken rule is, "If you saw it first, it's your mess."
It really depends on how long he's been there, they won't test him on that, I think if that happens (by god I've never even heard of it) Then I'm certain the manager would be happy to help.......but a deer head...wut
*sips tea*
Hook line and sinker.
Happened to my post office a few years back. Some drunk kids dragged a decapitated deer into the post office and tossed it over the counter. Not a deer head, but an entire deer, minus the head.
What....jesus christ Murica you scary. I'm pretty sure anyone else who was there, aswell as the cops would help dispose of it, unless theyre all assholes......how did you get rid of it?

1. Northern small town Canada. 2. Lol I didn't work there. 3. I don't think the police ever caught who dropped it off.
Ah, I misinterpreted.
But wow.....that's messed up, there would have been plenty of camera footage, not like its an easy in out job xD

Applying for a job to be a mailman?
I just did yeah. I found out that they are looking for people to work at the post office.
Delivering or an auxillary job?
Auxillary. I don't even have a license to drive yet. I should really take care of that shit too.
You should! Driving is fun haha
I hope you get the job mate
I'll be really lucky if I even do. My work experience isn't even enough, but eh. Worth a shot.
Plus it's like $13-$15 an hour, that's good money.
Around $550-$600 a week isn't bad for an early job
Let's hope you get it
That would be nice honestly.
Even $10 an hour is pretty decent for an early one.
Is it your first job?
If its his first and he gets it, it could be his last, they set you up good in there, plus get to long service and added benefits, cause government applied. Also, I still don't understand how wages work in America? Things must be much cheaper in comparison to Australia I assume? Games I know there is a large difference. *sips tea*

Okay, so in Australia I had to vote yesterday (yes compulsory voting, but it doesnt bother me) it was for the state seats of government.
Now I'm not here to ramble on about some bullshit parties who you've never heard of, but the act and ease of voting in this country. Now if it is the same everywhere else tell me.
But this is ridiculous, once you put your name in the electoral commission roll, it's there for life, now when I went to vote I waited in line, and when I got to the table, a man asked what my name was, I told you, he gave me the ballot papers and that was it.....now I work in a Post Office and privacy is something I specialise in.
To vote, you don't need to show ID? What the fuck? No form at all? No photo ID to confirm you are who you say you are? This is my first time voting, and this became a shock to me.....with the accessibility of social media and the ease of collecting information on the net, one party could easily collect names and get agents to go from town to town to post votes for others without their knowledge, now this would get caught up eventually, but some people just forget to vote or just don't at all.
It's a flawed system in my eyes.....to vote for our new government seats and we don't even have to prove who we are? Pathetic.

Just to add, Aus post have just under 40,000 employed.

Most go to the delivery services, because it takes less them a dozen people to run a general sized store, 10 at the most. But then again, I havent been to the big ones in the capitals...yet
I see.

pff, they're actually trying to do away with the US postal service.
Wait... What?
USPS isnt making enough money to be self-sustaining.
pff, they're actually trying to do away with the US postal service.
That doesnt make sense, sure letters are a dying business, but the parcel industry is at an international all time high
*sips tea*
yeah for UPS and Fed Ex maybe.
The Postal Service reported a $1.9 billion loss for the first three months this year despite continued cost-cutting, a 2.3 percent rise in operating revenue and increased employee productivity. yeah, i know lolhuffpost. but eh.
That isn't fair. Those jobs pay a lot of money right now. God dammit.
Fix your shit America!
dont get me wrong, i hope you get the job. but if you were hoping for job security... ive got an Uncle who works in the postal service right now, he's trying to retire and uh.. its not working out for him (article is from a year ago last week, i can only imagine how much more its risen). im sorry i cant find anything more recent then 2014, but no one seems to want to acknowledge the UPS is dying.
Huh it doesnt seem that bad in Australia, letter wise, businesses still dont trust the internet, parcels seems to be at an all time high locally, because the AusPost run their own service around the country, so they only get the cut, they only lose this once going over seas where UPS pick it up from there, but even then its about 1/4 cut.
Then there's the constant Postbilling services, where we get cuts for being the middleman, there's the identity services which keep going up absurd amounts, as well as licenses, photos ect ect. I don't know about America, but privatising the mailing service to certain companies is a really bad idea.
Stamps are going up later this year in Aus to try and breathe a little bit more air in the letter businesses lungs, and even that is causing a stir, just imagine if non-government corps got to decide on that?
*sips tea*
I really hope the US dont make that decision
Agreed man. Also, sorry for being a dick to you the other day.
I'll get you some fresh tea.
Baby, you underestimate me, this tea is always fresh *sips tea* *slides fresh batch to Deci*

according to these numbers, yeah. tl;dr: the USPS gets an estimated $18 billion a year due to congress and still goes red. edit: whoops
wow...things arent looking good up there, but they have so many people employed.....I wouldnt have guessed on those numbers *sips tea*
