you can talk about how in dark souls, i suck at the game because i got myself killed by the giant monster in the tutorial a bunch of times before i figured out that you were actually supposed to run away from it (which goes against all my gaming sensibilities)
i would argue that the game failed to convey what i had to do properly
there's a message below the monster's feet that instructs you to run away, and that's your only hint--and the only way to see the message is if you go near the fucking thing, which will result in your swift death

There's a reason the game did that, games were getting sugar coated in well....movies, they were meant to be and feel like movies, doing some cool shit that wasn't really hard to do, that's when the era of the Souls series appeared, which is really just how a lot of older games used to do things, gave you some help, but the rest was up to you. The game didn't tell you your purpose, you found your own, one way or another. Some people like the concept some dont. *sips tea*
