Seems reasonable, yet doesn't it seem like there's a certain sense of restlessness associated with unhappiness, or not being satisfied, that could be utilized to pursue a goal intensely, more so than already being fairly happy, or fairly satisfied, at least to some degree?
Well it depends on the person, failing a goal surely cause an amount of unhappiness but in turn, dependent on the person will find determination in failure and strive for a goal this is true. Surely if someone seems to meet a goal determination is the ingredient to success and thus happiness. You never really heard of someone down in sorrow completing a life goal or finding true success, though it does also make sense that unhappiness creates determination to thus be productive which would then result in the completion of a goal, or find happiness.
