I always felt really disappointed when I tried to play the others and they were just shit compared to 7 :/Final fantasy 4 and 6 would like to have a worth with you. 7 is good, and my childhood game, but even I can tell when something is way too overrated. 3137

The Flood / Re: Lets make a Buster Sword« on: February 04, 2016, 08:10:37 AM »Wait, what are the magnets for?Heh, you always wonder how weapons just stick to the characters backs? Going to half drill into the blade, place four of them in there and cover it with plywood. The other four are going to be slotted into a harness I'm making up, so if everything goes how I want they should stick with little difficulty. A crafty way around sheathing a weapon 3139

Plus I like it's design. We have no idea what the new weapons look like, and these new trailers give a lot of detail of this one in particular. 3144
The Flood / Lets make a Buster Sword (UPDATE 1) (Not Mobile Friendly)« on: February 04, 2016, 04:36:45 AM »
What is that you ask?
This sexy mother, I'm making it accurate to what has so far been shown from the new FF7 Remake trailers, there were older variants but I never really liked those anyway. So lets start The materials! So what did I buy * 185cm length of Pine Timber * Half a metre sheet of plywood * (didnt buy this) offcut of timber, this is for the hilt * 5x 60mm bolts+screws * Curtain hanger pipe, this will be used for the handle * Wall filler or epoxy, whatever its all, a big tub of it, to fill in any wood knots or mistakes I may make * Liquid nails, to reinforce and attach most sections * Red Vinyl fabric...now I paid for a metre...but they sent me about 5.....so winning? * Rare Earth Neodymium Magnets x 8. These small ones can pull 4.5kg per pair * Gloss wood varnish * Matte black spraypaint * Gloss black/grey/silver spraypaint * Clear coat spray Total cost about $150, cheaper then buying one I'll tell you.....well aswell as the fact you can't buy these yet anyway. So I actually finished getting everything together last weekend, which is where the top picture came from. Now I drew up my own plans for this sword (sorry if the quality = crap) So she's going to be big. Firstly, cut up my pipe Simple handsaw to cut it, measured it prior and then filed off the edges so they're not sharp, safety first. Not sure how well you can see, but I've drawn up the plans here. I also cut the hilt to size, but forgot to take a pic, will do on my next venture. This was as far as I got, until today though, decided to do most after work, was getting dark but got a lot done (note that block of wood above is the hilt, that'll be sanded down yet) So, here we are. I got the jigsaw and cut it to size, obviously it's not perfect up close but we'll get the power sander to that to refine it. Speaking of sanding, I did have a go at the actual blade and it worked better then I hoped, it takes a long time to constantly sand one section to the size and texture I want it, but so far I'm satisfied, I will have the whole weekend to do this, and it will be glorious. Now that small section of wood which looks like the handle, that will slide inside the pipe, then I will decide if it's sturdy enough to not snap, if not I'll have to find something stronger. When I do the pipe will slot in, and I will fill in the gaps with moulding plaster. Now to understand how the hilt will fit with the blade and handle will be simple. Drill a hole through the hilt. The handle fits through, now cut a slot in the middle of the hilt, this will be where the blade will thus, slid in. The end of the pipe will also have the same slotting so they all fit as one piece, glue them first then bolt tightly. I may not be able to exactly word it out right, but I know what I'm going to do in my head. You will all see in time. Keep posted and I will update soon! UPDATE 1: (Just to save space I'll keep these in spoilers Spoiler Alrighty, so last night I got the hilt block and sanded it to kingdom come, now this was cut off a fence post, so sanded, painted it in wall-filler and this afternoon sanded that back down and washed off the excess. The unsanded half Our hilt Together! So next thing was fitting the handle.....the piece of timber I cut out was too big >.> So the sanding begun! Took about an hour to fit nicely and cut into the hilt section of the blade with the jigsaw like so This is where the handle will slide in snug (dont mind the crocs >.> ) And slipped the pipe on to see what it looks like so far Mind the goofy face >.> Next part is fitting the end (sword pommel) now this isn't exactly fitting to the pipe like it should, so I'm going to try a few things, first I just filled the pommel in liquid nails and fitted it in place, if this doesn't work I'll see if I can screw them together. And we'll see how it looks in the morning. 3145
