Verbatim 2.0
he's more of a protoverbatim
2.0 would imply an upgrade of sorts, as though any "edgy" belief challenger has, i haven't already eclipsed
Oh father, when will the day come that we see your true form?

"grandfather out" is an A1 expression
How about grandmother?
"you will all be grandmothered out in 20 years"
doesn't quite work as much
sounds like you'll be having an orgy with a bunch of elderly women in two decades

Doing your own Materials/builds for Cosplay is like grinding in Destiny except you have something semi-consequential to show for it at the end
The shoulder pad was pretty painful to put together. Basically just guessed what shape I'd need with cardboard, then took over 2 dozen layers worth of paper mache, then a 1-2cm layer of moulding clay both ends, about a week since the last layer was added and its solidifying nicely, not going to be completely ready for about a month though

I thought you were already around that stage with the Buster Sword a while ago.
Either way looks like it's going to be a sick cosplay
I had the shape ages back and dropped it for a while yeah, but now the handle and hilt have come together and I can actually swing it around. Small details which are making it more complete, and you cant see it but I've started grinding down an edge for the blade. Its going to take a while. The hardest part will be making a wooden object look like metal, but I'd made plastic look like wood so how hard could it be.

where do you begin with things like this
when do you start the process of actually making stuff
You step back Sit down for a while, and have a little cry Then you start....somewhere, anywhere. For me, I got a big plank of wood and started cutting, wrote up a small plan on the plank as I went along and just go from there. Do note I started this months ago, then put it down for 2 months because it is quite overwhelming, picked it up last week with a fuck tonne of motivation to get it done. You just look at something awesome and think "shit I made that" It's an excellent feeling

Thanks lads, and if you're wondering those four holes on the sword are where Im going to slot the magnets, hopefully they'll be strong enough, theoretically they should, but we'll see till I put them in practice.
Filled in some gaps with liquid nails, so I'll let it rest for a few days.

So still going along with it, still going as Cloud from FF7 Will go into detail with more pics when its all done, but the overall progress thus far. Tell us what you think lads, feeling good having these taking real shape. UPDATE!...on the update anywho, small additions, just getting the actual thing together before I will sand it down and paint it Alrighty, oh and I've started painting the shoulder pad Spoiler Slotting the magnets in place, these things have a pull of 11.4kg each, they are rare earth, already shattered a pair as an experiment, they scare me. Anywho these were taken days ago, and have since discovered they may not even be strong enough....they can hold it up, but not securely, do I add an additional hole with a much stronger magnet, or adopt a separate method to assist holding the sword on my back........I dont think I explained the plan before, I'm slotting the other pair of the magnets into a back piece, so it should just lock on, like all those games do with their magic Nice and smooth Finishing the hilt is taking some work. This happened by accident but I like how the shoulder piece is turning out, it looks kinda like plastic, but it feels like solid rock at this point. Update 3! Okay, finished the sword and putting all the touches on everything else. Will include pics of all soon What do you think lads? Also, been helping the Mrs on hers, You know Aloy (main character) from Horizons Zero Dawn, will add pics of those soon too.
