« on: August 09, 2014, 09:52:35 AM »
This is in Garry's Mod by the way.
I need some help with adding sounds to a SWEP
So im new to making SWEPs and I need to know how to add my own sounds. Not ones that are already present but being able to put a file ive made into the lua file. So when I shoot the gun it makes "X" sound.

I do, and have, but I am also v busy atm

Note: If you want to pay my rate I'll carve out a couple hours this week for you.

If (Answer == 'Yes (Xbox One)') {

My family and my uncle's family would be fine. Other family, though... They're assholes.

Did your uncle touch your no-no place?

The safety of myself and/or my family.

Sushi is about the only kind of fish I'll eat, mainly because of everything that goes around it.

List your favorite bands.

Eisbrecher is definitely up there, for me.

Korn
Rage Against the Machine
Sevendust
System of a Down
Deftones
Tool
Nirvana
Sublime
NiN
Rob Zombie
White Zombie
*Some* Marilyn Manson
Bush (early)
Godsmack
D12
Bob Marley and The Wailers
Bob Dylan
Pink Floyd

This list could go on for a long time, but that's the first snippet.

Yes, I am adding to the recent pile of AMA threads.

Yes, I can not wait to hear everyone bitch about the influx of AMA threads,

And yes, I will answer every question with pure honesty. Fire away ;)

What methods do you use to hop onto Mr.Sandmans sleepy dream train?

Personally I go into the attic and rub the fiberglass on my hands for good luck, that usually works.

Septagon / Re: Official Sep7agon Ranks Thread
« on: August 09, 2014, 08:25:11 AM »
Here we go guys. Since there's no dedicated rank discovery thread yet, I will make it. Here's how it goes...

BASE TITLES -- No title is better than any other; they are for fun only. Titles based on post count and trust as of current.
You must be active to advance in title. Here are a few ways:
Log in daily, join/post in groups & threads daily, and create threads

PREFIXES FOR BASE TITLES
NOTE - All info. has been gathered from members

- In order from lowest to highest

SPECIAL TITLES
KNOWN TITLE INFO
Overall
Ranking Up and Special Cases

I'll edit as we go.
EDIT : In fact, I'm going to go into halo.bungie.net and find the ranks thread and do that style here for nostalgia lovers.
EDIT 2 : Done :)

What happens after 500 D:

The Flood / Re: Using the Spoiler Tag
« on: August 09, 2014, 08:24:09 AM »
I know someone had brought this suggestion up before, but nobody seems to do it. If you are going to embed a video, multiple videos, or a large image, you should embed it within a spoiler tag so that users do not have to scroll as much in threads, and so that the thread does not take too long to load. I just see it as a nice gesture to other members so they can view the videos or images one a time and then close the spoiler tag and continue scrolling through the thread.

Am I the only one who sees this as being beneficial? I would like to hear the thoughts of other people on this, and please do not see this as a complaint. I am merely bringing up the idea again because I like it.

Edit: And this does not belong in "Support" because it has nothing to do with the infrastructure of the site or forum bugs, it is a community suggestion to help smooth the forum experience. No coding involved, only member involvement with their future posts.

this, can't use the music thread

The Flood / Re: Interesting Stories
« on: August 08, 2014, 01:58:06 PM »
Post some interesting stuff that has happened to you.

Its not much of a story, but once I got too close to one of my friends...yeah it got weird.

At 14 as a freshman in high school I was arrested on campus for two felonies:

Computer Crime
Criminal Mischief (in the amount of $17,000)

Both were based on me cracking the local workstation's security that disallowed most actions on the machines in the school, we used this freedom to install Starcraft and Napster on every machine we sat down at. This was in 2000.

Note:

All charges were subsequently dropped and I was allowed back in school the following year. I was later expelled for similar charges at the end of 11th grade (this time no criminal charges just an expulsion for similar accusations.)

So...what am I looking at?

A ticket handling system a client wanted to implement for his consultants to use when handling problems with their projects:

Scenario:

Quote
Consultant A is on Project 1, Project 1 has Problems 1a-1z, each problem has a unique solution.

Documenting the process from problem-solution is part of their job, currently all of this is done manually with no tracking internally.

Google released a tool that is a good base for creating this system for the client:

https://code.google.com/p/au-to-do/

My first task was to stand up an instance of au-to-do for evaluation, next step will be customizing it for his company/needs

Why do you talk about your career as if anybody cares?

I'm ok if no one cares, this is more of an outlet for my brain

Noice!

Most everything I've ever done has been with Python. I'm currently working on learning Java, experimenting with my own Android apps and what not.

Opposite for me

After a few hours of toil I have stood up a local instance of au-to-do:

Once my client finishes a step I'll be able to deploy it on Google App Engine!

Fairly new to working with Python, so this was a small victory for the ol' career.
