Septagon / Re: How do the notifications work?
« on: October 04, 2014, 05:28:32 PM »
I'm strongly considering buying the notifications mod for $20.
Can we at least have the option to turn them off? I've marked all the topics as read and still I'm bombarded with two pages of irrelevant outdated notifications every time I load up the index. I'm only on mobile so this is extra irritating.
Yeah, I know. I'll purchase the mod and install it on Monday, I think. This should make everybody happy.
Yay!

Apparently Saint Seiya doesn't know how to properly balance colors.

News / Re: Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works First Impression.
« on: October 04, 2014, 03:43:53 PM »
Fate/Stay Night UBW is the remake of Fate/Stay Night that was made in 2006, an adaptation of a popular visual novel. It follows the Unlimited Blade Works route of the visual novel, many Fate fans have been waiting for this remake, what with Deen's horrible interpretation of the visual novel, ruining what could have been a good anime. Once Ufotable came into the picture they showed just how an adaptation from a visual novel should be done, with their work on Fate/Zero and Kara no Kyoukai.

The animation is just what would be expected from Ufotable, the pinnacle of animation, and with their large budget, its no surprise they can pull off the things they can. The use of lighting was well done, and actually somewhat reminiscent of The Garden of Words in a way, placing focus on the right characters and/or objects on screen. In the fight seen in the first episode Ufotable did something it didn't do back in Fate/Zero, and that would be fast paced fights, with the exception of one battle. Which is a rather nice refresher and is similar to how I pictured the fights when reading the visual novel. The only minor hiccup being the Naruto style running that Archer does for a few seconds.

In this first episode we are introduced to Rin right off the bat, not surprising as she is the main protagonist in the UBW route. Its good to see that Rin gets an actual balance of tsundere attributes, not too much tsun and not to much dere, which is good, the last thing that this remake needs is an archetype for a protagonist. Good bits here and there from the visual novel can be seen in the anime that you don't notice unless you've played the UBW route in the visual novel.

There isn't much that can be said about the soundtrack as of yet, however there was one song that was from the original anime. Suggesting that the new OST might contain some throwbacks to both the visual novel and original anime.

Overall my expectations for this anime were met, and even surpassed with the animation, fight scenes, and initial direction of the story. This new adaptation has so much potential, especially with Ufotable at the reigns. While I have never gone through the UBW route, from what I have read and seen, going through the UBW movie and other material this adaptation seems to be following the source material well.

I think she's in my Destiny game right now! The GT is Keeker166. Is that hers?
Yep. Her, Vien, and Sigma are the only people I really play Destiny with.

power ranger team?
I have only played with Keeker a couple times. It is usually just Vien and I, and we invite Sigma whenever he is on and is not playing with any of his other friends.

I only played a bit at my sisters. It was boring because I was alone. I'm getting it for my One in november.

Dun worry, we'll play together.

thank you

Mhm.
Spoiler
Oh we'll play alright.

I think its fine, no harm done, especially when the kids get their candy back and pretty much forget that it happen while they happily eat ridiculous amounts of sugar.

Yep, except I use disposables that have nicotine in them. Ecigs are sweet.

And screw off, lol. Weed is awesome.
Do e-cigs/vap-pens normally have nicotine in them?
Disposables almost always do. Vape pens have way more customization, so it's up to the user.
If that the case then nicotine must not affect me, had no reaction to it whatsoever, a bit the first time I tried it, but not the second time,
Are you inhaling right? When I first started smoking cigarettes, I always just sucked the smoke into my mouth.
Oh I inhaled it alright, ironically, the first time I did it I didn't do it properly, but it affected me slightly. The second time I did it right, and it had no affect.

there are thousands of flavours for e-cigs and disposables, my personal favourite is the vanilla ones.
The one I tried was honey, not bad, but not my kind of thing.

Gankutsuou
Any good?
Planning to watch it.
Its based off the Count of Monte Cristo.
I know, but I don't really know that story itself.
The story was good, the Count really made the anime, not sure how well it follow the story of The Count of Monte Cristo considering I never knew the story existed. Plot, was well done, with the Count himself being a kind of chess master character. All in all, its worth a watch, a side note, the main protagonist is an idiot.

This is some advanced stuff, ask Cheat.
Cheat only knows le web scripting.
Its times like these that I wish there was a method of validating code that wasn't HTML or CSS.
