What were the loading times on your laptop? Building a new computer with better hardware will certainly help with loading times, as I said before, I'm using a HDD and my loading times are <30 seconds. You could try just getting a HDD first, then getting a SSD later if you're unhappy with the load times.

Well I guess if that's what you've come to expect every time. I'm fine with a anything under a minute. But if you're only fine with 5 seconds or lower you should keep the SSD. I still think you could save money by just not having it though. The performance hit is worth it if you want to save money, especially given it only happens when you turn your computer on.

The invasion process works how the developer intended it too, that's not broken by definition. It may look broken because you thought it should do something else, but for its intended purpose, it isn't broken. You're saying invasion as a concept should be removed from video games altogether? Yes, if it works like it does in Dark Souls. NPC invasions are okay.
That's a strange opinion to have. The civilization series is built on invasions, it's intentional, it's an interesting and entertaining game mechanic.
Except it's not, because human beings are involved. They could have built the entire thing around NPC invasions instead, and it would've still made sense. But no--they have players do it, too. Terrible design.
The whole point is for humans to beat each other. You are given multiple ways to do it, one of them is invasion. And invasion is honestly the most entertaining one of them all. It's the most involved, and most strategic, and one of the most fulfilling methods of winning. If it's entertaining, involves the players, and requires them to think for their victory, I'd say that's pretty good game design.

It's not my job to fix a broken game. That's the developers' job.
It's obviously not broken though, it's intended by the developer. If you feel as if it shouldn't be there, but the developer feels it should, it's up to change it how you see fit. Also, there is most likely already a mod that does this, all you've got to do it download something or change some file settings, not difficult. My desktop has an HDD as well but after getting used to my laptop's SSD I can't go back.

I think you're overestimating the impact VR will have. The ability to rape has to be programmed in, just like right now. Only niche games will have rape in them, just like now.
Im talking about true VR, if we can interact with everything in everyway, like we can right now. You cant simply make someone not do something, instead you need to make consequences.
I still think it will be similar to now. The more mainstream and popular VR worlds will prevent rape and other overly taboo actions through programming. And then there will be the niche VR worlds where everything is allowed.
