I told you there were better answers in the ultrathread cindork.

but I'll point out that asoiaf doesn't have a class system per say, but unless you want rules light systems you're gonna have to deal with classes.
Classes are for fucking DWEEBS

tbh

Who wants linear progression?

Roll20 is mostly D&D based

It's still cheaper than buying a million things to create a real board or even get one of those virtual tables.
All you really have to do with it is make the map and characters. Maybe lay out a battlefield and such, you don't actually have to do D&D.
Yeah, nigga, but I already have resources. I've had a DnD group for the last two years, I'm just tired of the annoying class-based linear D&D and the everything-is-shit that is Savage Worlds.

In attempts to make my own Tabletop system because I'm a massive fucking nerd, I'm trying to amass a knowledge of many different systems so that I might borrow from them.

So far I'm reading over GURPS and W40K, and I already know plenty about D&D/Pathfinder and Savage Worlds.

Any other suggestions, lads?
That pretty much covers everything as far as I'm aware. Most things are based off of those four systems.
Lmao, seriously?

Huh, that's good to know, then. Guess I don't have anything else to scour.

"B-B-BUT WE NEVER SAID THAT"

Never seen any of you talk shit about Carter or Eisenhower for what they did to Iranians, either.

Democrat hypocrisy at its finest. Getting real tired of all of you. It's like democracy is just one big lie.
Because it's a hobby of mine to walk around and go, "Man, that thing that happened decades before I was born was some bullshit!"
Conversations of these people come up all the time.
Literally the only conversations that I have ever had outside of a school classroom about FDR or Eisenhower that come to mind have been about this exact topic

Serious / Re: Why do we need political correctness?
« on: December 11, 2015, 08:26:48 AM »
Late-ass response, but it looks like 90% of the argument is a different in semantics in how we both define terms like 'PC' and 'SJW'.

All you're doing is calling out the crazies, so we don't really disagree on much. Now, I will argue you that a certain level of backlash - such as Trump saying that we should ban Muslims getting hated on - is absolutely justified, but overall I don't think we disagree on all that much save for semantics.

And what do you mean, who am I to educate anyone? Look, fam, if someone thinks that gays are corrupting our youth, trans people should be locked in mental institutions, and all black people are criminals, I would say that I - along with anyone else, not me specifically - have a social obligation to educate them.

Serious / Re: Why do we need political correctness?
« on: December 09, 2015, 02:02:21 PM »
Justice and equality have nothing to do with political correctness.
They...they really do.

Language is a very large part of prejudice/oppression and two groups cannot be equal when one is marginalized by the majority with power. There's a reason that slurs against minorities tend to have a lot more sting to them than slurs against white people, cis people, straight people, Americans, etc.

Quote
No it isn't.
It really is. I've gone on about it before - it's just a meaningless buzzword to instantly deride the opposing side. It's like using "nazi," it does nothing towards the argument save for discredit the opposing side to onlookers. 'SJW' holds no more meaning than "person who is more progressive than I, the speaker, am comfortable with" and varies in use and definition depending on the day and the person saying it.

Quote
The fuck?

This has nothing to do with accepting or not accepting things. This has to do with the SJW crowd going overboard and trying to censor people because they have different opinions.
And my point is that nobody's doing that except college kids - the type of people who have ALWAYS been doing that.

And - I'm not saying you said this, just addressing the point - but hatespeech isn't "differing opinions," it's just hatespeech. Not allowing hatespeech in public discourse isn't censorship.

Quote
Yeah it is. Point out a time where stupid shit was happening to this degree in te 20th century in America.
https://books.google.com/books?id=cftJdpYGXqAC&dq=censorship+on+college+campuses+in+the+20th+century

There are literally books written about it.

And I'm sure people had a similar reaction during the civil rights movement as well as the 'hippie' culture shock in the 70's

Quote
What's pointless is banning things and censoring harmless speech.
Yes, I'm not disagreeing on this point.

Quote
And you're wrong. What you're saying is the equivalent of "boys will be boys" after a rape.
A closer equivalency would be that I'm saying it's not okay to call all men scum of the earth after a woman is raped. Yeah, that one man was a piece of shit and we should really do something to stop rapists, but that doesn't mean that every single man on earth is a scumbag who wants to rape people, does it?

Similarly, every 'SJW' (read: progressive) isn't a crazy sheltered idiot that wants to ban yoga to save the asians.

Quote
I didn't say you were calling me a racist at all. I said you THINK you have to be racist to disagree with the SJW crowd, which unfortunately comprises a lot more than "college kids". This isn't some thing that happens every generation. This specific generation has become too afraid to say anything that might offend somebody else. Take your ranting just now. You think they're only trying to censor people from using racial slurs? They don't want you criticizing people at all, they consider the exchange of culture "cultural appropriation" etc.
But I DON'T think that. I don't think that at all. Seriously, have you been listening to anything that I've been saying? I'm not arguing that the examples provided are the dumbest shit - they are - I'm arguing that you can't lump every 'progressive' together and say that we all campaign for stupid shit like this. I'm saying that you can't fault the "culture" of some "new age SJW" evil boogeyman and discredit people trying to strop institutionalized racism, hate against trans individuals, police brutality against minorities, etc. just because kids in college decide that yoga is evil.

The type of people who rant and rave about "cultural appropriation" and legitimately want to silence all dissenting opinions are a VOCAL MINORITY that the vast majority of people do not agree with. In general, the type of people who scream for the death of all men/cis people, complete cultural stagnation, and say that white people have no culture ARE NOT in the same group of people as, say, myself.

One of the reasons that I DESPISE that community is because I believe that they trivialize trans people by saying that our condition is just a fad and that "everyone should be trans, cis people are super lame, etc etc." But I don't go on about it because it's such a small minority that it really doesn't matter.

Quote
Nope.

There is a very large group of people in the media, in colleges, in work places, everywhere. They're clamping down on free speech.
Nobody's thawing your peach, man.

I can publish a newspaper article about how the government is evil. Trump can say we should ban all muslims.

If I ran down the street screaming "NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER" then someone would probably stop me. If I did the same thing on a college campus, then an authority might stop me. That's not censorship, that's civility - as I said.
It's free speech though. It isn't just racial slurs they want banned. They want everything that could offend anyone banned.

And that's censorship.
But they...really don't.

Unless 'they' is the aforementioned vocal minority, in which case yes. But banning hatespeech is not censorship. If the government were to come barreling down and demand that the KKK dissolve and started to imprison anyone that said that Islam may have a few issues, then that'd be censorship. A college campus not letting a kid give a presentation on why the gays deserve to burn in hell isn't exactly the same thing.

Am I for stopping discourse? No, of course not. In a perfect world, I'd love for full open discourse to be allowed because I would like to inform people and hopefully educate them to have better opinions on social issues. But there's a hefty difference between someone who's actually interested in discussion value and someone who just wants to spout out that the gays are evil and that niggers have stolen all their jobs because Obama's a commie.

Bessie isn't gonna get her feelings hurt if she doesn't have the right to vote
Bessie can still feel pain--and therefore probably deserves the right NOT to have it inflicted on her by people who want to fucking eat her. You fucking psychotic fuck.

Babies aren't sapient, either. Pigs are smarter than babies. Would you be all right with killing and eating babies?

I don't think you would. I really really don't think you would be.
Cool your jets

First off, you're talking about two different things at the same time, which makes arguing with you really difficult. Either focus on the ethics of eating them or focus on the ethics of keeping them on a farm, one or the other. Don't just swap the two out to make it look like I'm fine with cruelly killing a baby and eating it because it's not sapient. I'm fine with KEEPING A BABY PINNED UP WITH LITTLE ACCESS TO THE OUTSIDE WORLD because it isn't sapient, though. Y'know, like a, hm, maybe like a farm or something.

As for eating it, animals that are painlessly killed or processed for food after a time of their natural death, I can't say that I find an issue with.

So what you're saying is that I should be able to enslave women for their breastmilk--and it's okay, as long as I "treat them well".

Okay.
Cows, pigs, chickens, and so on are not sapient

So that's really a false equivalency, lad
Explain to me why that matters.

Hint: It doesn't.

Nobody says the things that FDR and Jimmy Carter did were fine. Pretty much anyone who's even moderate 'progressive' (read: not a racist) will agree that forcing people into camps based on their race, as was the case of the Japanese internment, was an atrocious thing to do.
