It's a thought experiment in game theory, it's not a commentary on criminal justice systems. This isn't even a good example of the prisoner's dilemma, because when only one confesses the other serves more time than the sum of their time when they both confess. I'm not even really talking about capitalism specifically, but I didn't really make clear there was a built in assumption that people complaining about the notion of money weren't opposed to the idea of personal property in general.
If you are opposed to the existence of personal property in general, then okay. But if you're not, then money is just shorthand for property, there's really nothing to demonize it for there.
Rarely do I read some complaint about money controlling people's lives and get the impression they don't think people should own property.

my inclination is not to take people seriously when they decry the evils of money because money is just an abstraction and the existence of the abstraction doesn't change the fact that goods and services have value and there is a finite amount of them to go around

Can't really come up with anything in particular but Halo was awesome and I used to play a lot of local multiplayer with neighborhood kids or 1v2 against my brother+dad system link. 11 isn't even really that young, that's only 2 years off 13

If I've given the impression I'm avoiding your claim/failed to refute that science has historical roots in religion and cherrypicking other parts of your argument, its because I don't disagree, science has historical roots in religion. My only objection was based on reading your original post which called religion (without qualification) the foundation of science, which I disagree with. If your intention was to clarify you weren't making that claim, I missed it and that's my mistake. The rest of your argument I intentionally didn't touch because I wasn't interested in contesting it. Religion may have quite a bit of overlap with philosophy, and many/most religions have a large philosophical element, but philosophy is not a requirement for something to be religion. Think any of various creation beliefs.

I haven't even used the word 'basis'. I've said it's the historical foundation. It's still relevant in the same way any other school of philosophy is, because it's tangential to science in the pursuit of understanding of the world. I also provided several other reasons for its relevance. Alchemy is defunct. Philosophy is not.
You're right, your first post says "it's the foundation of science", not "basis" which is on me, but it also doesn't say historical. If you'd said historical I wouldn't find anything factually wrong with that but wouldn't find it a reason to consider religion to have continued relevance. I guess I've just misunderstood you. On a different note though, I said nothing about philosophy anywhere here, and religion and philosophy are different things. One isn't even a subset of the other. tl;dr words are clunky
