The flood hasn't yet mastered interplanetary travel so the flood wins.

If it sounds like I'm choosing my words carefully and erring towards sounding formal (which I am), it's to maximize the chance the person I'm talking to will actually understand the position I'm trying to convey. Refer to Mordo's previous two posts where he doesn't understand the position I'm trying to convey. Here's the easy version:You sound really upset about something really unimportant. There's really no reason to project being upset onto people when they don't post flippantly/casually 694
Serious / Re: We're winning #GG« on: March 01, 2015, 01:45:32 PM »
Here's the easy version:
No, the OP doesn't literally have a question written in it. When you post a discussion thread on a forum, you are implied to be asking the rest of the forum to respond with their opinion on the subject. "I forgot this was a thing", "I don't care", "Wow what the fuck" and so on are all valid opinions on the subject. If you did not intend to ask the forum to respond with their opinion, what you are doing is either blogging or spamming, and you should either get a blog or stop spamming, respectively. 695
Serious / Re: We're winning #GG« on: March 01, 2015, 01:09:02 PM »Where in the OP is this stated? This is why I used the word implicit. If the OP really did not intend to include that implicit question, (which I actually think they did, so I'm not going to fault them for your own argument), then either: a) They are using this forum as a soapbox and not as a forum for discussion, and they should get a blog. b) This thread is spam, akin to the people who post stupid lyrics threads in the flood. But again, I actually don't think this thread is either of those two things, because there is an implied call for users' thoughts. 696
Serious / Re: We're winning #GG« on: March 01, 2015, 01:02:35 PM »"Thoughts?" "What is your opinion?" "How do you feel about this?" etc. Pick whichever you likeOP asked a question. If he didn't intend to ask a question at all I'm not sure OP understands how forums work and maybe he should consider getting a blog insteadPlease elaborate on this elusive question OP asked. I'm really struggling to find it. 697

Serious / Re: We're winning #GG« on: March 01, 2015, 12:47:16 PM »That's not relevant feedback at all. It's cluttering the discussion with pointless whining. I don't find Meta's dense economic threads particularly interesting, but you don't see me spamming them with "hurr durr this is boring."Posts like this, this, this, this and countless others do not further a line of discussion and are still perfectly relevant responses to a thread. Every discussion thread has an implicit call out at the end of "what do you think about this?", and they're simply answering your question. Back and forths like this on the other hand actually do clutter the discussion but no one gives a fuck nor should they because forums like this exist for the sole purpose of catering to what the users want to post about tl;dr please don't get offended when some people don't care, and only strawmen say hurr durr 700

Serious / Re: We're winning #GG« on: March 01, 2015, 12:38:08 AM »gamergate is not united, a shared label alone doesn't automatically grant a movement cohesionI didn't say people calling themselves gamergate never accomplished anything, the same way people calling themselves anonymous have accomplished things, it's beside the pointIf they're accomplishing something then uniting under a single banner would by definition not be 'meaningless'.. that a large group of people can come together and call themselves anonymous does not grant anonymous a cohesive political position 704

gamergate occupies the same category of not-actually-a-cohesive-movement-but-just-a-political-flag that anonymous does, so being "pro-gamergate" is meaningless
