Gaming / Re: Halo Mega Thread
« on: March 05, 2023, 03:07:44 PM »
Once in a while I go on a binge and surf MM and customs for a bit, and man, I just can't do Reach no matter how hard I try. Like, it seems like the game's mechanics and weapon sandbox are a perfectly bad combo of sweatlord and self punishment.

I can play Halo CE cause its old physics and wack maps are fun, and perfect 3 shots with the pistol is easy to understand even though the reticule doesn't represent what the bloom does when you hold the trigger rather than quickly tap it. Halo 2's a nostalgia glitchfest and easy going, Halo 3's mechanics have been altered from OG Halo 3 and are a bit frustrating alongside the workable, yet unbalanced sandbox.

And then there's Reach. If you're using any covenant weapon and competing against its counterpart, its automatic loss unless the other player is a potato. You want to pace your shots so bloom doesn't fuck you? Get dicked up the ass by a guy spamming across the map. Tired of the bullshit bloom and go for title update physics? Welcome to DMR fuckfest. You want to play some good old brain cell killing infection? Have fun with pro sword clashers and dead bodies infecting you.

I really want to add Reach to the roster of game modes when I get into a mood for pubstomping or brain cell death in customs, but every time I try it just leaves a sour taste in me because of its bullshit mechanics and the fact that it spawned all the bad trends that still currently plague newer titles.

i feel the opposite for halo 2 and reach. halo 2 always feels so sweaty and stressful, while reach is usually easygoing

im 5 episodes into the anime

it's alright, i feel like all the characters are kinda unlikeable

and the main dude, his whole goal is touching titties, while funny the first couple times is kinda too much now... like i understand he has "shallow" dreams compared to everyone else and thats the point, but like come on what is this, highschool dxd

alright i finished it

so yeah i still feel the same way about the characters

i actually warmed up to denji and power but only then theyre together. alone, theyre both kinda annoying

the only character i ended up liking was the dude with the sword

i appreciate that theyre quiet,
I kinda don't like how they, well, and modern gas powered econoboxes, take the listen out of stop look and listen

i mean i get it, im not a car person but i know a lot of people love to hear a good sounding, uh, engine or exhaust (idk the lingo lol)

but theres a time and place for everything

barreling down the neighborhood street at 2 am is not the time and place for those shits

i kinda like them. i could definitely see myself owning one, but maybe someday when the technology is even better, or if they havent been outclassed already, by, say hydrogen powered vehicles

i appreciate that theyre quiet, i fucking despise loud, annoying, wannabe racers with their fast & furious cars

To-do, sorted by nearest to completion:
Area 51 (PS2)
Fallout 4
Fallout 2
Bully
Resident Evil 1

i plan to play fallout 4 sometime. i completed 3 a few days ago, and i loved it along with new vegas a while back. fallout 4 goty (that comes w/ all the dlc) is on sale for $10, so i might pick it up to play god knows when
I accidentally started an add-on mission (Far Harbor). I think I have like 70 hours logged and I'm just at the Detective valentine quest and now I have to do everything on this damn island...
F4 is nice but I miss the bigger dialogue trees. Now all you get are four options.

yea, ive heard fallout 4 is a mixed bag, especially to those who played the earlier ones. i still wanna give it a chance though

i also wish the gyms had level scaling or something as well, i did my first gym (the grass one) and i stomped on it cuz all my pokemon were like 10 levels higher

later on i did the team star base, the one with mela (meia? the red hair chick) and we were equally leveled and the fight was actually fairly challenging, which was great

i saw a post on reddit saying the scarlet legendary's wheels are similar to a bearded dragon's, well, "beard", puffing up

i kinda like that explanation but then again i dont look at the pokemon and think yep thats a bearded dragon pokemon

alright i watched the presentation

"scarlet and violet will be an open world rpg, a first in the pokemon series" what was legends arceus then? i didnt play that game

when i heard the male professors name, i thought they said churro lol, didnt know his name was turo

that new gimmick seems a bit confusing, does it mean any pokemon can be ANY type? if so then it might lead to some interesting setups and the like

the scarlet legendary having wheels but running on its legs looks so silly

nice! im looking at those leaderboards and i see only you and a handful of others have photo proof of your score, while 2nd, 3rd and many others dont have proof

doesnt seem very fair to not have to include proof

i recently bought forza horizon 3 but unfortunately theres no way to get the DLCs unless it's through third parties

those 3rd parties sound hella shady to me, but if theyre still in business then surely those kinds of websites work, right? idk does anyone have experience buying from them?

as for me & FH3, theres no way im spending an arm and a leg for some dlc, legit website or not, but i was just curious if yall have used those kinds of websites
