Yes. Anyone is capable of bigotry.

Bigotry exists.the difference is that conservatives don't think the poor are worth helping, and liberals think that the poor are incapable of doing anything without help.

If you are poor, which is worse? Being called worthless or stupid?
That's why we need to help people help themselves, instead of just doing things for them.

So this is a script just like Coup on bnet? That's cool.

I just hope that it won't be added to the site itself. We'll have to find our own identity, and not just try to copy the past.
It won't be. I've be actively trying to resist using any resources from Bungie. Right now, the only graphics I've taken are the Bungie nameplate and the Ninja and Monitor staff icon (though I redrew the icons in Illustrator, so they're not just copy/pasta'd).
Good to hear. This is a new thing, our own thing. We can't rely on nostalgia alone.

M
So are you glad 9/11 happened because it killed off some of our species?
I'd assume he's not, as it sparked a war which caused the suffering of a lot of innocent people.

Don't talk like that!

You're making me worried about if I become successful in the video game industry, once I get into it.

Yeah, it can be a bit much.

We could have a grand "Ask Anyone Anything" thread. Only for those in it, of course, you can't drag in members who wouldn't want to participate. Enter on your own risk, and be prepared to answer.

Serious / Re: Is this immoral?
« on: September 15, 2014, 01:58:00 AM »
I'd say yes, since you're turning a fetus, that was going to develop a human being, into a mindless husk. I'd say that's different from abortion, as abortion is simply ending it early (out of need, I might add) and this is changing it to something else.

If you were to change the genome to never have the fetus grow a brain in the first place, and have it grow in some kind of artificial womb (tank), though? Then that would be more of a biologically grown sex doll, and not a changed human.

To be honest though, this is grey as fuck when it comes to morality. Is human life sacred? Is life in general? Does an entity that not feel or think have rights?

Still, I think that dooming a growing fetus to an existence in limbo is pretty cruel. Not because of any experience you put it through, since it would be void of senses. But rather to rob it of being capable of sensing at all, while still continuing to exist as a hollow shell...

How do you communicate in Sweden, if you can't English correctly?
I tried to talk to him in Swedish before, and trust me, it's not that different.

While the votes will not be completely counted until a couple of days, the results are clear already.

It's a victory for the left-wing Red-Green block. The right-wing block has gone down in popularity Moderate party won't be in charge. Good thing I say. The school and employment politics of he last eight years has been disastrous. The Moderates has made it easier for employers to fire employees from one day to another, without cause. Hopefully that'll be reversed now.

The nationalistic Sweden Democrats keep rising in popularity. The other parties will probably still refuse to work with them.

The equality party Feminist Initiative ultimately did not make it into the parliament.

That's all from the Swedish election.

I don't think many people here delve in Swedish politics.
I wouldn't think so either, but I thought I would inform the forum about it anyway. At best, it would spark a discussion, at worst, it's going to be ignored.

Since I'm Swedish it's very relevant to me, and it may be mildly interesting to others.

Of course, everyone who isn't Swedish isn't going to care for more than a few minutes.

Because of the (relatively, they're still second biggest) weak results for the Moderate Party, current prime minister Fredrik Reinfeldt has announced that he's resigning as the party's leader.

I'm at a crossroads between Mutualism, Individualism and Anarchism.

The more I study libertarian and anarchist thought the more anti-state I become.

People honestly think anarchism would work?

Really?
I like it in the ideological sense, but there's no way it would actually work. I also like the thought of a world completely without evil, but you gotta be realistic.

The Red-Greens (left-wing) so far seem to be bigger than the Alliance (right-wing) and we will probably have a shift in government.

Right now the Feminist Initiative party has 4.0% of the counted votes in the national election, which is the limit to actually make it into the parliament. It would be the first time for them to do so.
