Serious / Re: Using nukes to blow up asteroids
« on: October 02, 2014, 09:11:25 AM »
For one thing, don't quote me on this, but I doubt the effectiveness of nukes in space. While the bomb itself may be a sealed unit, some form of combustion may be needed for it to ignite and explode. And the best catalyst we have for that is our own atmosphere. Second, when the bomb exploded, a lot of its potential energy would be wasted, because space is a vacuum. All that fusion and explosive power would probably just dissipate. And third, as everybody has said, breaking up an asteroid is a bad idea, because then you have many more projectiles to deal with. Instead of a grenade, you get a shotgun.
I'm no expert on the subject, but I believe that nukes can detonate just fine in vacuum, it's just that they don't cause much damage as the shock waves need a medium to travel in.

I've had two girlfriends. I don't know if they count though, as it was when I was about 10- 11 years old.

Is RWBY 3DPD or Animu?
It's not anime. But the characters are not 3DPD.
It's that moral grey area that most do not walk into.
Kind of like with Kemonomimis and furries, then.

I'm thinking the same about Vien's comment.
He is not being serious.
In that case, so am I. I totally meant to do that. No mistake here. <.<

What are the themes for existing names?

Red Sky at Night
Minutes To Midnight
Darkness Before the Dawn

Similar naming style to UNSC from Halo if that helps.
Eternal Midnight Sun
Beacon of Fortitude
Steadfast at Nightfall
Persevere through Dusk

The Flood / Re: Got pulled over by a cop tonight
« on: October 02, 2014, 01:17:55 AM »
I'm with Kinder on this one. Cops have, and should have, the right to search your car if there is a suspicion about crime.

Sometimes cops may cross the line, maybe often even, but that does in no way equate to all cops being bad.

And yes, since he is studying this exact subject he can be more knowledgeable on it. That's how education works.
Too many cops abuse their power in the US. They can't be trusted.
If it were any other country though, sure. I'd agree with you.
Maybe my views on the subject are skewed since I don't live in the US.

The Flood / Re: Do you recognize ain't and y'all as words?
« on: October 02, 2014, 01:14:14 AM »
I see ain't as a word, but isn't y'all more like a way to pronounce "you all"?

On the other hand, the same can be said for you are and you're, I am and I'm, and so on. I'm in no place to judge, since I don't live in a country where English is the primary language.

I'll never understand how the myth of certain color combinations standing for sex acts that the wearer will do started among adults, but it got these banned outright pretty quick.
It started out because it isn't a myth.

Yeah, but that was decades ago and not exactly brought in to Scene culture.
That's true, and I agree that it shouldn't lead to the banning of bracelets. But it's hardly a myth.

Contribution is subjective, but I have made a few threads that were well received and appreciated.

I don't make threads that often, though. Not unless I think there's discussion value to them.

You often seem to just type one sentence without much thought behind it. Sometimes you do seem to have a genuinely good idea, though. I'll give you that. It's just that because of all the other threads you make that people have a bad impression of you. If you focused a bit more on those threads with discussion value, people wouldn't be so mad at you.

Spam a bit less, and make more of those good threads. I know you can do it.

Sometimes when they served pancakes in high school (thin pancakes, not the american kind) (yes, school food is free in Sweden), me and a couple of others brought squeeze bottles of chocolate sauce to have on them instead of the cheap conserved jam that the school served.
