At first I thought it was loud raving according to the OP, but if thats all it is then thats hardly even bad, if you consider that bad, you must live in a quite neighborhood.
I guess I did before. But it's loud enough to keep me awake, and it's really close (on the lawn outside the house). It has mostly died down now, I guess most of them left.

I will never understand what people see in house parties.
If I were in your position, I'd call the police.
There are rules here against noise after ten in the evening, but I don't want to cause any bad will this early on. It's probably a get-together party for the students who have been apart all summer.
So? They're disturbing you, and likely other people.
Fuck 'em. I would argue your sleep is more important than other people being allowed to shout and get drunk.
Or just go ask them to be quiet. If they;re reasonable, they will be. If not, call the police.
