Serious / Political compass thread? Political compass thread.« on: September 13, 2014, 04:08:55 PM »

As we haven't had one of these on this forum, I'd thought we could. Some historical political figures placed out on the chart: Spoiler Spoiler I'll add posted compasses to the OP. My result. Spoiler I can sort of subscribe to that in an ideological sense, but I don't think that an anarchistic society could function properly in reality. The Flood / "Jolene" slowed down.« on: September 13, 2014, 10:51:59 AM »
Some of you have probably already seen this, since this video gained popularity and was spread around a few months ago, and was uploaded an even longer time ago, in 2010.
But I feel that it is worth sharing anyway. An LP record for Jolene, played at 33 rpm, makes it sound as if the song is performed by a man. It's an interesting change in both how the song sounds, and of the story of the song. YouTube What do you think about it? 515
The Flood / I log onto Steam and the first thing I see is this« on: September 12, 2014, 01:24:48 PM »

I had already heard of this before, earlier today in fact, but I didn't know that it was a Steam app. Also, why am I not surprised that Lifts Her Tail already had pre-purchased it? Spoiler I didn't post this in Gaming because even though it's on Steam, it's an app, not a video game. 516

Yes, I'm stealing bnet thread ideas.
Yes, this type of humor is incredibly immature. Sue me. Quote "Rudimentary creatures of flesh and bone, you touch my balls, fumbling in ignorance…" 517
Gaming / Does anyone know of any shmups similar to Kid Icarus: Uprising?« on: September 11, 2014, 03:51:25 PM »
The flying sections of it, of course. Preferably on PC.
YouTube Most shmups that I've seen are top-down, unlike KI:Uprising, which has a third-person perspective. 518
The Flood / Surgery Update« on: September 09, 2014, 01:09:49 PM »
As you may recall, I made a topic last week about me going to the hospital for registration and tests for an upcoming surgery.
Well, now it's done. The metal bar that has been a part of me for more than three years have been taken out. I can't really feel if there's a difference or not due to still being a bit drugged up, and due to my sides hurting were they cut me. I'll spend the night here in the hospital, but it looks like I'll be going home tomorrow, and hopefully I'll be fully recovered in a few days. 519

The Flood / I was at the hospital today...« on: September 02, 2014, 11:08:13 AM »
...for registration for a surgery I'll perform on Tuesday.
They asked me the normal stuff, if I had had any major disease lately, if I was on any medication etc. Did a couple of blood tests, ECG, blood pressure, all standard procedure stuff. The reason for the surgery is to remove a metal bar from my chest, that was inserted about three and a half years ago. I had this condition called Pectus Excavatum, which is a cave-in in the chest caused by the sternum being behind the ribcage instead of on level with it. So I went through the surgery known as the NUSS procedure, where the metal bar was inserted which caused it to pop out and flatten. It's like bracers for the rib cage. It'll be nice to finally have it removed. It doesn't hurt, but I can feel it pretty much constantly. 523
