Wood or metal. Its fun to have or give something away you had a hand in making. I used to customise knives and axes for fun and give them away to my friends and family but haven't the funds or time to do it lately.

You could always try Ruger. They always make good/high quality SAA revolvers. If you want a something a little more rustic try Uberti/Cimarron firearms.
