Serious / Former French airline boss: U.S shot down MH370
« on: December 22, 2014, 08:35:44 PM »

Quote
A former airline boss and writer claims the U.S. downed Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 because the military feared it had been taken over by hackers and was about to be used in a 9/11-style attack.

Marc Dugain, the former chief executive of now-defunct Proteus Airlines, said the jumbo jet was shot down near a U.S. military base on the remote island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean after it was hacked.

He told Paris Match that islanders in the Maldives near Diego Garcia told him they saw the missing aircraft flying low.

Dugain spoke of a fisherman on a small island who spoke of a 'huge plane' in Malaysie Airline's colours on March 8.

Last week grieving family members of Chinese passengers from a missing Malaysia Airlines flight protested outside the foreign ministry in Beijing Friday accusing the government of failing to provide them with regular updates on the search for the aircraft.

About 30 people, many of them elderly, gathered at the gates of the ministry with temperatures approaching freezing and were confronted by a line of police.

They demanded to speak to government officials in a bid to get more information on the search for flight MH370. Police manhandled and pushed protesters that attempted to enter the gate and warned passersby to leave the area immediately.
'
My son is alive and I want to know what the government is doing to find him,' said Liu Dianyun, the mother of one of the passengers.

Some drove for two hours to attend the demonstration, despite acknowledging that their efforts were unlikely to produce results.

Chinese passengers account for about two-thirds of the 239 people who were aboard the Boeing 777, which vanished on March 8 en route from Kuala Lumpur to China's capital.

Dozens of their relatives were reportedly beaten and arrested earlier this year.

Australia has been spearheading the hunt for the plane, which is believed to have crashed in the southern Indian Ocean off western Australia.

Would be interesting if this turns out to be real

Serious / Putin support stronger than ever, despite economic woes
« on: December 21, 2014, 11:34:48 PM »
http://www.apnorc.org/projects/Pages/HTML%20Reports/public-opinion-in-russia-russians-attitudes-on-the-economic-and-domestic-issues-issue-brief.aspx

Current numbers show that an outstanding 80%+ of the Russian people support Mr. Putin, a giant leap from 58% approval just two years ago.

Key points
Quote
A majority of Russians rate the economy as fair or poor and more than 4 in 10 say it is worse now than it was three years ago.

In spite of those economic assessments, Russians remain positive about a number of facets of the country. Two-thirds believe Russia is headed in the right direction, and about half are optimistic that the next generation will be better off than current generations. Most think the economy and their personal finances will stay the same or improve over the next three years.

When asked what are the most important problems facing Russia, Russians cite the economic and financial crisis (21 percent) and the situation in Ukraine (16 percent) most frequently. Russians say the most important problems facing their families are price increases, inflation, and low wages/pensions (40 percent), followed by poor quality or lack of access to health care, education and social services (13 percent).

Asked specifically about the severity of 14 different problems facing the country, the issues Russians most commonly identify as serious are drug abuse (83 percent) and corruption (79 percent). The number of Russians identifying each issue as serious problem decreased from 2012 for all items queried in both studies.

Eighty-one percent of Russians approve of the way Putin is handling his job as president, which is a significant increase from his 58 percent approval rating shortly after his most recent inauguration in May 2012 [1].

Eight in 10 Russians support Putin’s handling of the situation in Ukraine, and 2 in 3 favor Russia supporting Ukrainians who want to break off from the Kiev government. Sixty-four percent of Russians say economic sanctions have hurt the economy, and 45 percent say they have had a negative effect on their family.

Public opinion in Moscow on most economic and domestic political issues differs from the rest of the country. And while most of the country relies on state-owned TV for their news, Russians who rely on other sources hold different views on a number of important issues—from economic assessments, to approval of various leaders and institutions.

Very detailed study; just read only a small portion of it

Serious / Sony to possibly release The Interview on Crackle, for free
« on: December 21, 2014, 08:21:09 PM »
Thanks, Kim Jung Fun!

Quote
Sony is planning to release Seth Rogen's controversial comedy, "The Interview" for free on its own streaming service Crackle, The New York Post's Dana Sauchelli reports, citing unnamed sources.

However, Re/code reports that Sony hasn't made a decision yet and a spokesperson says "the Post report isn't accurate."

That doesn't mean "The Interview" will never appear on Crackle. It just means plans have not been finalized.

A lawyer for Sony Pictures Entertainment, David Boies, stated on "Meet The Press" Sunday that the film would be distributed, but he wasn't sure how.

"It will be distributed. How it's going to be distributed I don't think anybody knows quite yet. But it's going to be distributed," Boies said.

But if Sony were to distribute the film on Crackle, it wouldn't be able to charge users who watch it. The inability to recoup some of the movie's production costs might deter Sony from going an internal route.

CNN's Brian Stelter spoke with a Sony source this morning who confirmed that Sony is "pursuing all options" to release the film, although the source didn't seem to specify which outlet Sony was leaning toward.

"I think it’s very, very likely [Sony will release the movie], I would be shocked if we don’t see this movie someway, somehow," Stelter stated on CNN Sunday. "The question now is how? One source at Sony said to me today, ‘We are pursuing all options.’ So let’s imagine what those could be. Could be Netflix, could be Youtube, it could be independent movie theaters or it could be the big movie theater chains that originally decided not to show the film about 4 days ago. ”

Stelter added that Sony is having discussions with potential distributors about releasing "The Interview" this weekend, and it could inform the public of its plans either this week or in very early 2015.

"The Interview" was scheduled for a Christmas Day release in theaters nation-wide. Sony canceled it after hackers threatened it and breached its servers, releasing 32,000 private email messages written by Sony executives.

Sony Pictures CEO Michael Lynton told CNN's Fareed Zakaria Friday that his company did not "cave" to the pressure of hackers. Lynton said the film's release was canceled because theaters came to Sony one by one over the course of a "very short period of time ... and announced they would not carry the movie."

Lynton says Sony had "no alternative" but to cancel the Dec. 25 theatrical release. He also stated that Sony was considering online alternatives for the release, including YouTube, but that it needed a distribution outlet to show the film.

Sony may have felt pressure to release the film after President Obama stated Friday that the company's decision to cancel the showings was a "mistake."

"What I was laying out is a principal that I think this country has to abide by," Obama told CNN's Candy Crowley after his Friday press conference. "We believe in free speech. We believe in the right of artistic expression and satire and things that powers that be might not like. And if we set a precedent in which a dictator in another country can disrupt through cyber a company’s distribution chain or its products and, as a consequence, we start censoring ourselves, that’s a problem ... I expect all of us to remember that and operate on that moving forward."

When asked why Sony didn't release the film online when it canceled the theatrical release, Sony Pictures president Michael Lynton replied:

"There are a number of options open to us and we have considered and are considering them. While there have been a number of suggestions that we deliver this movie digitally or via VOD [Video On Demand], there has not been one major VOD distributor, one major e-commerce site, that has stepped forward and said they're going to distribute this for us. Again, we don't have that direct interface with the American public, so we need to go through an intermediary to do that."

He did not mention Crackle.

Sony Pictures did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

The Flood / Anthony, Zimmerman to star in new TV series

Quote
MIAMI, Florida - Casey Anthony and George Zimmerman have been cast in a new reality series about people who have been acquitted of murder.

The show, which goes by the working title of Beat the System, is being developed by the Investigation Discovery network, and is set to air in the fall of 2014. It will be the first unscripted reality show developed by the ID Network.

The series will star Anthony and Zimmerman, who became friends in real life after they bonded over their recent brushes with the law, and their eventual acquittals of murder.

“I am so happy that Casey and I got offered this reality series.” Said Zimmerman, who was found not guilty for the murder of young teen Trayvon Martin. “We are really excited to start filming next week in Miami.”

Beat the System is going to follow the everyday lives of Anthony and Zimmerman, to get an insight into what it is like after you are found not guilty of a crime that the entire world knows you’ve committed. The ID Network is advertising it as a Kate Plus 8 meets Unsolved Mysteries kind of show.

“George and I became so close after his trial.” Said Anthony, who was acquitted of murdering her young daughter, Caylee.  “I began writing to him during his ordeal, offering my support, because I went through the same thing. He wrote back, and we became good friends. I’m so excited for this series. I really want people to see that George and I are just regular people. We grocery shop, go to the movies, and party like everyone else.”

After advertisements for the show hit television networks and YouTube, a backlash of emails began flooding the offices of the ID Network, demanding the show be cancelled before it even starts.

“How dare anyone profit off these heinous crimes.” Said one angry viewer. “These two pieces of filth should be behind bars, and everyone knows it. This show is a disgrace to TV, and I don’t know anyone who will be watching it.”

“These two are famous. In fact, they are more than famous. They’re infamous.” Said Joe Goldsmith, president of the Investigation Discovery Network. “It doesn’t matter how they got to be famous. They are known faces, their backstories are known. What isn’t known, though, is how they deal every day with the same basic things everyone has to. What it’s like for them to be in public and be recognized. We are trying to put a humanitarian face on two people who are very misunderstood.”

“It’s the best thing to come out of all of this tragedy.” Said Anthony. “George and I, we’ve been through so much. Now we can put our pasts to rest and focus on this great new future, this great show.”

Reportedly, an episode is also set to feature Anthony and Zimmerman visiting their mutual friend O.J. Simpson in prison. Simpson was acquitted of murdering his wife and friend almost 2 decades ago, but was recently sentenced to 32 years in prison for his part in an armed robbery.

“I wish that [Simpson] could have been a part of this show on a regular basis. He’s a great guy, and Casey and I owe so much to him.” Said Zimmerman. “I know that he would get a kick out of reality TV.”

The ID Network reportedly stands to make more money off this show than almost all their other programming combined, with advertisers offering upwards of 3 and 4 times the normal rate for a standard 30-second commercial spot during the show. Anthony and Zimmerman also stand to make a small fortune, as each are reportedly earning $100,000 per episode, with 13 episodes ordered for the initial fall/winter season.

Not matter what fear-mongering discriminating gun laws you pass, innovation will always be around the corner waiting to take the stage and one up you all. We've all seen the NY legal AR-15 modern sporting rifle

Now here comes a pump-action sporting rifle chambered in .223/5.56 that accepts standard 30 round capacity AR-15 magazines. And as far I can tell, it's perfectly legal in draconian anti-Constitution states. So I ask, why must we waste handicapping one right? If we're going to handicap the Second Amendment, then we should handicap ALL Amendments

Serious / EU thinks obesity is now a disability
« on: December 18, 2014, 03:21:38 PM »
http://www.bbc.com/news/health-30529791

Quote
Levels of obesity are rising across Europe

Obesity can constitute a disability in certain circumstances, the EU's highest court has ruled.

The European Court of Justice was asked to consider the case of a male childminder in Denmark who says he was sacked for being too fat.

The court said that if obesity could hinder "full and effective participation" at work then it could count as a disability.

The ruling is binding across the EU.

Judges said that obesity in itself was not a disability - but if a person had a long-term impairment because of their obesity, then they would be protected by disability legislation.

The case centres around childminder Karsten Kaltoft who weighs about 160kg (25 stone).

He brought a discrimination case against his employers of 15 years, Billund local authority, after he was sacked four years ago.

The authority said a fall in the number of children meant Mr Kaltoft was no longer required.

But Mr Kaltoft said he was dismissed because he was overweight.

'No problems'
Earlier this year, he told the BBC that reports that he was so fat he was unable to bend down to tie children's shoelaces were untrue.

Describing his work with children, he said: "I can sit on the floor and play with them, I have no problems like that.

"I don't see myself as disabled. It's not OK just to fire a person because they're fat, if they're doing their job properly."

The Danish courts asked the European Court of Justice (ECJ) to clarify whether obesity was a disability.

The ECJ ruled that if the obesity of the worker "hinders the full and effective participation of that person in professional life on an equal basis with other workers", then obesity can fall within the concept of "disability".

Rulings from the European Court of Justice are binding for all EU member nations.

The courts in Denmark will now have to assess Mr Kaltoft's weight to see if his case can be classed as a disability.

More in the link

This is just going to enable people to continue their unhealthy weight issues. A disability is something a person can't control; being fat IS something you can control, it's called going to the gym

http://freebeacon.com/politics/dem-lawmaker-may-commute-to-work-from-jail/

Quote
Democratic Virginia state delegate Joseph Morrissey, who reached a plea agreement for charges relating to a sexual relationship he had with his 17-year-old office assistant, is yet to decide whether he will resign or commute to work from jail.

The 57-year-old Democratic representative for Henrico county was sentenced to 12 months in jail with 6 months suspended for charges of “contributing to the delinquency of a minor,” according to a report in the Richmond Times-Dispatch.

Morrissey’s lawyers say that he will be allowed to continue his work in the general assembly and his private law practice as part of a work-release program. He will drive his own car to work and authorities will monitor him through a device that will remain secured to his ankle, according to his lawyers.

The special prosecutor assigned to the case also revealed on Friday that the girl is now pregnant, and that the child is “perhaps” Morrissey’s.

However, Morrissey maintains that the allegations are false and that the evidence against him, such as naked pictures and explicit text messages, was planted by a jealous friend of the girl who hacked Morrissey’s cell phone.

The cell phone evidence was not all that was working against Morrissey. Investigators tracking Morrissey last year photographed them together on multiple locations as well as his car at her apartment late at night.

Prosecutors also suggested that Morrissey and the teen remain in a relationship. She, along with a sister and her mother, were overnight guests at Morrissey’s house the night before the plea agreement was reached.

Despite the work-release program, it remains unclear whether he will be able to continue work for his legal practice. Prosecutors told the Richmond Times-Dispatch that they will immediately notify the Virginia State Bar of the conviction.

Prosecutor William Neely said back in 2011 that Morrissey “completely lacks any moral compass” and employs “notoriously unethical practices.”

Neely has a lot of material to back up his characterization.

As Richmond’s prosecutor in 1991, Morrissey punched a rival attorney in the face and wound up in jail. Two years later, he was indicted on a bribery charge for reducing charges in a rape case in exchange for a $25,000 payment to the victim. The charges were dropped, but his law license was suspended.

He again had his law license suspended in 1998 and was put in jail for 90 days for improperly speaking to reporters during a drug case.

He got into another fight in 1999 and was sentenced to 300 hours of community service. He tried to fake the number of hours he served, and was given another 90 days in jail, before finally being disbarred.

He then practiced law overseas in Ireland and Australia before authorities discovered he had been disbarred, and he came back to Virginia, where he was elected to the General Assembly in 2007.

Morrissey regained his law license in 2012 despite a unanimous recommendation by the Virginia State Bar Disciplinary Board to deny his application.

Morrissey took an AK-47 rifle onto the floor of the general assembly last year as a prop during an anti-gun speech.

Gov. Terry McAuliffe (D.) said on Saturday that he will not support Morrissey should he decide against resigning from the General Assembly.

This is what REALLY stands out

I like the new feature of customization removal. I see this as a competition as to who can go the longest of not having it. So this thread will serve as the official non-custom individuals; post ITT if you're in this category and you can be added to the list

The Flood / Why is BBW porn popular?

http://www.tmz.com/2014/12/13/mama-june-sex-tape-offer-sugar-bear-porn-vivid/

Quote
Mama June may have bugs in her feet, but she's still sexy enough to pull a $1 million paycheck if she gets down in the mud with Sugar Bear in an epic, redneck sex tape.

Vivid Entertainment honcho Steve Hirsch has reached out to MJ and SB, offering them up to $1 MIL and maybe even more if they bang on camera for Vivid's BBW site. Hirsch says to June, "We  believe you would fit into that category."

And Vivid will let June call the shots ... assuming Sugar Bear can perform multiples.

We tossed around some titles, "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo's Mom," "Slap the Thigh, Ride the Wave," "It Must Be Jelly 'Cause She Ate All the Jam" and our favorite, "What's Eating Mama June?" We want more suggestions, please.

I'm sure Psy could answer this from using his psychology knowledge

The Flood / Putin is love
« on: December 13, 2014, 12:02:53 PM »
Putin is the last barricade against NWO, all western countries try to destabilize power gaining Russia, Great man wish him to beat the devil of USA and stop all cony wars inflicted by them. If Putin was not there, there would be at least ten more military conflicts around the globe.

I am very grateful to Mr. Putin for standing strong against Obama and his illegal administration. Obama is an enormous embarrassment to The True American Patriot and I pray that Mr. Putin does not lump us all into the Obama category... Obama and the government have gone rogue and no longer represent the will of the people. We are currently preparing to overthrow this government of criminals and traitors.

Russia is a tough country, and it requires a tough man to lead it. Putin fits the bill. Determined, smart, flexible and cunning - as one would expect, given his early career - he has led his country on the road back to prosperity at home and towards respect, prestige and power abroad. Witness for instance how he out-flanks the US in the Middle East at every turn. Most western leaders are a joke compared to him - Putin vs. Obama is like a Timber Wolf vs. A Chihuahua.

Putin keeps the country in order. He does not allow other people to influence him to do things that are contrary to his beliefs or moral values. Too much democracy is not good, and never was. Boundaries must exist. Whoever does not like laws in Russia should not try to change them by force, but instead, DO NOT GO there.

Because he loves his country, he is morally religious, tough, doesn't take crap and holds his ground. Finally, he looks, walks, and acts like a DAMN president. Most leaders of other countries cater to the US and what I like about Putin is that he lets Russia make decisions for Russia. He understands that their is an opposition that wants him removed, but he doesn't let that get in the way and stands tough on his decisions. Not everyone is always going to agree with him, but he moves on and makes the touch decisions that need to be done. HE IS THE MAN!

Many people say that Vladimir Putin is a communist. Actually he isn't, and it is a fact that even though he was in the KGB he wasn't a devout Soviet. Most people who disagree with what he does are homosexuals and liberals like Obama. Putin has more than doubled Russia's GDP and is also increasing military power and Internal Security.

His goal is to make Russia stronger and to protect interests of nation. Terrible 10 years of Yeltzin has almost destroyed Russia and Putin trying to rebuild everything including thinking of Russians about Russia. Maybe sometimes his opinion is different than thinking of EU and US, but it is normal because Russia is Eastern country and will never think as western. He has enough power and enough strong
