Serious / Re: Americans, did you vote today?
« on: November 04, 2014, 06:15:36 PM »
Yep, voted for Libertarian.

While I support Republicans over Democrats ideally, the parties are acting like children that hinder the process of a Republican form of government
Which libertarians were on your ballot?
Robert Sarvis for Senate
Bo Brown for House

Very unlikely they'll win, but more people that vote Libertarian then the bigger it gets

I'm so fucking proud of you all that picked that option. Now spread the party and their righteous ideals so we can get out of this fixed 2-party system

The direct purpose of Jainism and Buddhism is for peace and nonviolence.
Zen Buddhism would like a word with you.

But you still seem to be missing the idea.

THAT'S EXACTLY THE POINT. JAINS AND BUDDHISTS BELIEVE SOMETHING FUNDAMENTALLY DIFFERENT
like, whatever. I have no idea why this is a discussion
Because you said America is to blame for these barbarians when it is, quite demonstrably, what they believe which is the proximate cause of their behaviour.
Well, when you eliminate a strong leader that keeps them under check, then a power vacuum opens up

In the world of super heroes Captain America is beta as fuck, let's just face it.
>batman has no powers
>person with powers is beta

wat
I don't wanna go full comic autist here, but technically speaking, Cap doesn't have any powers. He's just the absolute peak of physical capability, like Batman.
yeah

but he was given shit which gave him powers

batman is just a bored billionaire that lives int fictional version of detroit and chiraqs retarded son and thinks he can do shit

Jains teach a policy of nonviolence

Rather unfair to pick a sub-unit of Buddhism and compare that to all of Islam, including all sub-beliefs. But Buddhism actually teaches peace
Yes, that's exactly the point. . .
So what point are you trying to make?
Doctrine and dogmatism influence behaviour.

Which is why you won't find Jains and Buddhists reacting in the same way Muslims do.
If you're going to compare Islam, then compare it to Judaism and Christianity

The direct purpose of Jainism and Buddhism is for peace and nonviolence. The direct purpose of Islam is  submission towards God

I get the benefit of knowing that the deer lived a happy life, away from a factory farm and the harms of humans

Really?

>When I kill a deer for fun, I get the benefit of knowing that the deer lives a happy life away from the harms of humans

What about skipping class?
you dont get paid for class

I'm using my dad's GI Bill and get a $1,500 housing allowance every month for attending school
>complains about welfare bullshit
>leeches off his dad's benefits paid for by taxpayers

LOLOL
1. I'm going to college to become a productive member of society
2. I only actually get $150 every month to spend, for good grades, from my dad since the money goes into his account
3. There would be no difference if he was using it, he's just letting me use it
1. That's kind of the point of going to collge
2. So?
3. So?

Still can't believe you bitch about welfare, but accept welfare benefits.

Conservative hypocrisy, everyone!
1. And how do you think it's being payed? I would have to still go through federal grants and loans to pay for college
2. It's essentially a job. I work to make good grades/be on the Dean's List and get a small bit of compensation for it
3. My dad still have a vast majority of the money that he's using

I don't bitch about welfare. I only discuss those who take advantage of it without doing anything to make themselves productive. I don't have an issue with a single mother getting an extra bit of help if she currently has a job

Except the meat is used. Literally nobody shoots an animal and just leaves the body there. Pretty sure that's against the law

I think hunting is pretty idiotic. I do not see it as a sport or anything. Hunting out of necessity and survival is one thing, but in our current society you can go to a store and buy food.
Arguably hunting is FAR more humane that buying meat from the grocery store

Hunting allows for animals to live in natural habitats, have a natural diet, stay away from abusive handlers, etc. Factory farms are the total opposite and if the animals were humans, then they would be condemned for severe human rights violation
but you get enjoyment out of it, which makes you a sick fuck who should be euthanized
You get an enjoyment of your house, where animals died for it to be built
You get an enjoyment of calling an exterminator to get rid of bugs and rodents
You get an enjoyment of personal care products that are tested on animals

Stop being a hypocrite
1.  No, I don't.  It's a necessary evil.
2. No, I don't. I avoid killing insects when I can, and when I kill them I feel bad. I remove any spiders and the like I find inside my house by taking them outside.
3. No, I don't. I try not to buy products that have been tested on animals
So then why don't you just live in a tree or on the ground?

Sure you don't. Like it or not, but your actions result in the death of at least one insect everyday

Lol sure you don't

Kinder I can assure you that NOBODY enjoys paying an exterminator bill.
never said anything about a bill. You call an exterminator because you don't want bugs all over your house. You get a sense of relief knowing they are gone

What?

No I really don't

>Enjoyment out of care products tested on animals

It's something I hate alot.

But in the end, every example you gave has a positive effect and use for us. What do you gain out of going and killing a dear for the purpose of "lol I killed a deer"
The land you're house is built upon? Yeah, animals used to live there but many where killed to develop it

So you enjoy having insects running around?

Then why do you purchase products that do so?

I get the benefit of knowing that the deer lived a happy life, away from a factory farm and the harms of humans

No. It's because they're incredibly dogmatic fundamentalists.

Take three nations, all with dogmatic Vajrayana Buddhists, Jains and Muslims. Go in, remove their oppressive governments.

I guarantee the only terrorist groups which form in the power vacuum will belong to the Muslims.

Jains teach a policy of nonviolence

I'll be taking my Nobel Peace Prize

Yes, standing to the side and allowing groups to carry out what are essentially genocides is totally deserving of a peace prize.
So Obama should get rid of his since he's been conducting airstrikes that kill many innocent people?

America is not the world police organization. But there wouldn't be any genocidal groups if the West stayed out of the Middle-East. Saddam, Qaddafi, etc kept the peace but once they were dealt away with and replaced by VERY weak "democratic" governments, it created a power vacuum that gave rise to these groups.

The very people who were try to fight solely exist because we caused them to
