Except we're actually living in the most peaceful periods in all of human history.
I don't think anybody is claiming otherwise.

So it isn't like terrorism, in the scope of things, is one of the world and most violent markings of our existence.
What is this sentence supposed to mean.

On top of that, the ten most deadliest wars were all fought over politics, not religion; fucking look at WWI: Millions of people died because some group killed a politician

It's a little bit more complex than that.
It's supposed to mean, yeah terrorism is bad and horrible but it's not comparable to what the Mongols, Huns, vikings, and Germanic tribes did throughout Europe and Asia. It's said that Genghis Khan once killed 1,748,000 in a single hour but even though it may not be real, it reflects the harsh brutality he posed and is honestly on a whole different level than what ISIS does

Bravo. There is no Constitutional basis for this E.O nor is it relevant to his job as enforcer of the laws

Two things.

First, as the man said in his goddamn speech (In much nicer terms):

"Yo, Congress! You've been trying to fix this issue for twenty years but because you're fucking idiots, you refuse to do a damn thing! Therefore, I am passing these executive orders, which clarify deportation laws and who we will be deporting, until you idiots get your shit together and decide to pass a damn solution!"

Second, let's take a look at the explanation as to what executive orders do:

Quote
executive orders have significant influence over the internal affairs of government, deciding how and to what degree laws will be enforced, dealing with emergencies, waging war, and in general fine policy choices in the implementation of broad statutes.

There are dozens of laws on deportation. These executive order clarify to what degree they will be applied - namely, that this certain subsection of immigrants (Those who have been here five years, have children that are permanent residents, pass a background check, and pay taxes), will be shielded.

He IS NOT saying "Hey, Mexico! Open borders!"
And Congress isn't exclusive to one political party. Since Reagan, when the issue started, there has been controls and mixes of both parties so you can't just blame one group of people on the subject

The E.O also grants, what, 5 million green cards. Show me Constitutional basis for this action.

No, he isn't say to Mexico to open the borders, but his actions on granting millions of people amnesty from federal crime makes people realize that they can keep doing this and in another decade, they will be granted such. Know why I say this? Because fucking Reagan granted amnesty yet here we are, having to do it again

...or you asked a question and I explained because you didn't seem to get the concept the first time round?

It's good that you got a website for your difficulties though.
Or you failed at reading comprehension and ignored the part where I stated I didn't follow it. Sorry, but you're trying to hard to look cool. In fact, you're looking like an even more down-syndrome version of verby right now. Want me to fill out a prescription for your asshurt cream?

What makes you think I fell for it?

Seeing as you'd have to watch it to see what was going on before posting it here, you have to have had to at least a sparkle of hope that it was real. So you clicked it with that bit of hope.

Then it failed terribly and you got mad that you were rused, so now you're getting your kick out of us lot falling for it too, to distract you from you being rused by it in the first place.

TLDR: You got your ego damaged by a false leak video and now you're inflating it back by laughing at our misfortune of coming here for the same reason. Shame it won't work though.
Or ya know, I knew it was fake because it used a still from a fucking video game that's not canon?

im wondering why the US hasnt stepped in. im woefully ignorant when it comes to mexico-US relations, but this is how i see things. it seems to me that having the cartels in power isnt beneficial for the US; they're just empowering our black market economy and flooding the nation with dangerous drugs. if we stop our domestic war on terror, we put a huge dent in the cartels right away. a full-scale "invasion" doesnt seem to be right.. maybe a UN coalition force comes in to help local militias/willing mexican military to fight off the cartels?

its just odd to me. mexico is one of our greatest economic allies (heyyyy big oil, heyyyy,) and they're our direct neighbor to the south. why are we pushing the refugees back? why are we continuing to empower the cartels?
America should sure as hell get involved. Unlike the Middle-East, Mexico is our neighbor and the cartel actions have direct actions on our turf, especially when violence spills over

ITT: OP fell for the vid and is now trying to cut his losses by posting it here.
Because Disney would totally use a still from SWOTR when they have said all E.U is non-canon
>Thinking I've been following anything Star Wars related outside of the movies.

And how did you fall for it then? It's further a fall for you than me.
What makes you think I fell for it?

Somebody posted it on FB and I knew it wasn't real, from the fact it used a still from a video game and there has been no media coverage on it like the real leaked trailer for the Avengers movie

Pre or post invasion of Russia?
Let's be honest, if western Europe fell before Barbarossa happened, Barbarossa would still happen.

I also feel the need to say that Goering did more to hold back the true use and potential of the Luftwaffe than Hitler ever did.
And Germany wouldn't be faced with a two-front war. Defeating Europe in the west would mean a better chance of a victory in the east, that is if Hitler attacked months before or after winter

Recidivism rate is above 60%, meaning people commit crimes again or commit crimes after seeing a professional

...Maybe that's because the American judicial system does not stress rehabilitation, instead focusing on punishment?

I know here in New York, Cuomo signed legislation that would allow those in jail to take collegiate courses for a low price so that, when they do get out, they can actually be functioning members of society. This should be a practice for the system in general.
Because people want to commit crimes

I'm not about to get into a whole shitfest on that piece of legislation. You should know me by now and how I feel about that and will leave it at that. Have better things to do today and would like to do them. Will be back on after a few

Like it or not, people out there are and want to be career criminals and nothing can be done to make them stop aside from keeping them locked up till they die basically
Well, y'see, that would only work if the U.S.'s justice system had a properly rehabilitative facet.

Which, to anybody paying even the tiniest bit of attention, it just invariably does fucking not.
Except no matter what you do, you can't force a person to stop being a career criminal. As I pointed out the recidivism rate, around 40% of people stop committing crime because they don't want to go back to jail or realize it's not worth it

Why should we treat a criminal who has killed and raped multiple people in a gentle manner when they didn't do so to their victims?
Because the justice system shouldn't be based off punishment.

It should be based on restoration and rehabilitation. For those who can't be rehabilitated, I'm sure they have more utility than merely dying.
It should be based off punishment
I don't see that as a tenable position in any way whatsoever. Despite the philosophical issue with retributive justice needing free will as a foundation (when free will, to anybody willing to meaningfully engage with the idea, doesn't exist) there's simply no good reason why basing an ethical code on punishment is beneficial.

Pre or post invasion of Russia?

Pre, then Europe, aside from Spain, Portugual, Switzerland, and Italy, would be speaking German; Japan would have to either destroy the carriers that were not at P.H or win the Battle of Midway, but a full on invasion of the U.S would be unlikely. Australia would be speaking Japanese also

Post, then either Russia would be German speaking or Europe would be glorious communist red, only if Hitler was still dumb enough to fight Stalin in an ego battle

But Germany was on the winning side for many years and if the U.S never sent aid to Britian or Russia, then things would have been different. Even if the U.S did send aid, Germany could of won if Hitler supported the Air Force, approved mass-production of STG42 and jet fighter, along with at least not directing troops to Stalingrad and allowing Rommel to move his armor down to Normandy

Why don't they just do what the Nazi's did?
The death penalty is inhumane as it is and has no place in the developed world
Subjective

Why should we treat a criminal who has killed and raped multiple people in a gentle manner when they didn't do so to their victims? That's insulting to families of victims right there
Because developed countries are more civilised and shouldn't stoop to a murderers level.

Just because emotional families and blood lusting politicians want to see criminals being executed doesn't make it just. It's just petty vengeance.
This has nothing to do with being developed. By killing or raping a great number of people, you have ultimately proved that you're an endangerment to society and the government can't risk you escaping to continue these heinous crimes
Which are what high security prisons are for.
And escapes still can occur

I'd suggest modeling prisons after Russian ones, but people would be too damn butthurt
