Serious / "Police are too damn trigger happy"« on: November 24, 2014, 07:22:17 PM »
Every few days I manage to come across a person or group of people discuss that too many cops are trigger happy and far too many people are killed by police annually. What perpetrates this conception is in great part of not only the 24/7 newsertainment, including the likes of FOX, CNN, and MSNBC, but the extreme lack of fact-checking to all of these news stories. Upon a quick 30 second Google search, one can bring up the following sources and facts that shoot-down what people think
http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2012/crime-in-the-u.s.-2012/persons-arrested/persons-arrested In 2012, a grand total of 12,196,959 people were placed into custody by law enforcement all over the United States, or 3,888.2 arrests per 100,000 citizens. That's a lot, huh? But that's an entire different issue. So now how many of these arrests turn deadly? 1,000,000? No 500,000? No 10,000? Still not close http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2012/crime-in-the-u.s.-2012/offenses-known-to-law-enforcement/expanded-homicide/expanded_homicide_data_table_14_justifiable_homicide_by_weapon_law_enforcement_2008-2012.xls How does this sound to everybody? 400. 400 is the number of individuals killed by police officers using deadly force There's some food for thought 2592

The Flood / Re: Let's play a guessing game« on: November 24, 2014, 06:06:51 PM »Because he wasn't reaching or aiming a gun. That's the big difference here. This totally isn't a biased and incorrect picture, is it?I just don't understand how one was able to be taken into custody whilst the other wasn't. EVEN THOUGH the former was in a more dangerous situation than the latter. When the police arrived, the kid picked up the bb gun and put it in his waist band and when the cops ordered him to raise his hands, he went to reach for it The orange-hair guy (refuse to call these sick bastards b their name) wasn't aiming his gun, wasn't reaching for his gun, he simply complied with the demands of the police If the kid had not reached for the bb gun (which looks like an actual m1911) then he wouldn't be dead 2598

Its a fact, not anything racist. But no doubt blacks are the ones who make up majority of these protests and no doubt it will be blacks who will go out and do illicit activities since they make up majority of protesters 2610

This is going to be far fucking worseyep, just like the zimmerman verdict. we're about to have World War Zimmerman all over again. riots everywhere! hide your confederate flags! get yer guns ready! fear the wrath of the blacks! theyre coming to rob us and fuck our women!Don't you know? When one gets shot, they all chimp out.I do live in VA. I also live in the part of VA with a very high percentage of black people. Darker the red, the more black peopleI can't believe you quite literally just said your area is dangerous because of its black population. Zimmerman trial didn't have the New Black Panthers and KKK parade in the same city. FBI didn't arrest two on weapons charges, alonging with plotting to make bombs to detonate |
