There once was a koala who lived in the zoo. One day somebody left it's cage open and it left. The next day millions of people died and the koala feasted on the entrails of a thousand children and drank the semiotic fluid of pregnant women.

The end

Who were the ones that actually won the European theater again?
For real though, even the Soviets wanted to be rid of the Nugget. They were planning to replace them with the SVT-40, but wartime meant it was easier to pump out cheap Mosins.
Well when you have the option of semi-auto instead bolt-action then of course you'd want to upgrade

Serious / Re: Is the Israeli State tantamount to Middle Eastern Stability?
« on: December 01, 2014, 10:08:03 PM »
Nah

Just after Israel formed, issues began to rise and have continued to this day. Israel is counter-productive to Middle-Eastern stability and a catalyst of aggression by many others. Nations like Turkey, UAE, Qatar, and a lesser extent of Saudi Arabia and Egypt (though African) are the better alternatives
>Saudi Arabia
>a positive example ever

You just compared one of the worst regimes for human rights to Turkey.
I did say to a lesser extent. It's not a pretty place for many things, but there are other things it is good at. At least its not Iraq and Syria with blood-crazed killers on the loose

Isn't there some movement to get the T out of LGBT?
Makes sense. Otherwise you'd eventually end up with something like LGBTIDKWTFBBQ.
Well, the full acronym is LGBTTQQIIAA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Transexual, Queer, Questioning, Intersex, Intergender, Asexual, & Allies).
Please tell me you had to look that up...

Mosin Nagant or bust

from the First Italo-Ethiopian War in 1895 to the wars in the Middle-East today, the Nagant has seen service in almost every human conflict for over a 100 years
And it has been utter shit in every single one.

Quantity=/=quality, my friend.

For an old rifle platform that actually is quality, see the M1 Garand. Hands-down the best service rifle of it's day. Variants have been in use for years, and the 7.62 NATO version has been converted to a DMR platform used by modern special forces.
It's only shit if the person using it is shit. I have three of them and they're amazing rifles to not only one, but to collect and preserve as military history
There are tons of bolt-action service rifles from the same era that were all much more effective.

The nugget has a place for now, being cheap and abundant, but once that dries up and they pass the $200 mark they will cost more than they're worth.

Historical value? Yeah that's cool and all, but that doesn't make it an effective platform. If I was a soldier fighting in WW1 or 2, I wouldn't want to use a nugget.
Depends on what you mean as effective

Mosins were very effective; they were easy to build, reliable in the Russian enviroment, and enemy forces such as the Fins in the Winter War and Germans in WW2 all captured Mosins and re-purposed them for their own military

It's going to be a while till they dry up. and once they do everybody and their mothers will have one; a standard 91/30 would never go beyond $300 IMO

Who were the ones that actually won the European theater again?

Why the hell would anyone in the Middle East today being fighting with an out-dated bolt-action rifle? I thought we gave them enough guns so they wouldn't be that desperate?
Even Hajis know that up in the mountains of Afghanistan, a slow-shooting rifle with a long barrel and decent accuracy is more valuable than a close-range bullet hose.
So they haven't gotten anything besides AR/AKs since the 1940s?

It's the fucking Middle-East. It's like a sci-fi book: The moment you step in, logic is just thrown out the window. There's no questioning the logic they use
But by saying logic is just thrown out the window, aren't you questioning their logic?
This is what I mean! The Middle-East is a some mysterious paradox zone
