Don't know how original it is, but instead of a over-complicated tax code simplify it by saying if you do business in America then you pay taxes; no if's, and's, or but's. Percentages would based on profits, with a percentage cap at 20%

If you've read about what the Nazis have done and you're interested enough to read the book of psycho numero uno himself, chances are you think they had some good ideas.
Or you just have an interest in history/politics - as I did.

However, you've actually brought up a good point, that Hitler was a psychopath. Neo-Nazis, in this day and age, are probably inflicted with either a lack of education, poor parenting or a mental disorder bordering on ASPD/psychopathy.

In other words, the issue isn't actually the book itself.
>implying neo-nazis have the education level to read mein kampf

They probably pronounce it like "me-anne campf

True, but the book itself is utter crap.
It reads like a brick and would be better used as paper mache.

But, books are sacred and defiling them is haram >____>
Even if the content is tripe.
Even a book that tells people how to commit murder and get away with it?
Should guns be banned because they can be used as tools for murder?
Just playing the devil's advocate to promote more discussion here; not like I'm being serious with my point and sticking by it

But I'll play along and say a book published explicitly to get away with a crime is different than a tool that isn't meant for a criminal act so there exists a difference

Such a book would be a self defeating entity.

A book on how to get away with murder would also be a book on how to catch the person trying to get away with murder.
Books also allow a person to think "Hm, let me try this but in a different way", thus making changes that other readers can't keep up with . Checkmate
And then the book itself hasn't really done anything, since the person in question has used their brain to come up with an alternative method to get away with murder.

Just because you can use a book for evil doesn't make the book itself evil, or would you like me to start pointing to certain holy texts that are frequently used to justify atrocities?
I'm just playing the devil's advocate here

The purpose of books and education is to learn something then take that knowledge and build upon it to create new knowledge. If people were not motivated by literature then we'd still be tossing rocks at each other

Once again, Japan fucking raped and murdered Chinese women and children and made Koreans girls into sex slaves. They deserved the embargos because America wasn't going to sit and watch as their resources were being used to commit mass human rights violations

Quote
Didn't say it was the ethical option. Just the most pragmatic.
Um what? You think it was pragmatic for the U.S to confront Japan on human rights violations? That Japan should have continued to violate civilians? Not only that, but Japan was going to attack the U.S; embargo or not. The bans only delayed an attack due to a shortage of supplies to conduct a war

Have Vien, Meta, and Noelle become moderators

As for Demonic and Slash, allow them to continue to be ninjas let them work with cheat on what's going on in their lives. If they get on and do their job then I see no reason having to get rid of them as they could be on at a time when no other mods are on

Basing my judgement on users who are very active and who, typically, don't cause issues. I'd suggest myself but obviously that won't work lol

We believe Jesus is the Messiah.
Who also happens to be God.
Yes, Jesus is God in human form. The issue Isn't the denying of God, it's the denial of Jews that this individual claims to be God/Messiah

something something quran

"Surely those who believe, and those who are Jews, and the Christians, and the Sabians -- whoever believes in God and the Last Day and does good, they shall have their reward from their Lord. And there will be no fear for them, nor shall they grieve" (2:62, 5:69, and many other verses).
It's almost like extremists shouldn't be considered examples of any religion or group.
They shouldn't; jihadists and far-righters alike. They both pervert the Word for their own dark, twisted ideas and for Satan himself

Spoiler
Quran (8:12) - "I will cast terror into the hearts of those who disbelieve. Therefore strike off their heads and strike off every fingertip of them"

Quran (9:5) - "So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captive and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them."

What sparked the Barbary wars^

Quran (4:95) - "Not equal are those believers who sit (at home) and receive no hurt, and those who strive and fight in the cause of Allah with their goods and their persons. Allah hath granted a grade higher to those who strive and fight with their goods and persons than to those who sit (at home). Unto all (in Faith) Hath Allah promised good: But those who strive and fight Hath He distinguished above those who sit (at home) by a special reward,-"  This passage criticizes "peaceful"
So perverted, I don't see how jihadists can justify their actions.
k, you realize Christians, Jews, and Muslims believe in the same God, correct?
Okay?  They obviously don't hold the same beliefs.
No, but they share enough to be grouped together and to not be considered entirely different

By who, you?  Muslims and Jews don't believe in Jesus or that he was divine, which is a big difference.
By the scripture of other Jews and Muslims. All three recognize Jesus, but who he was is one of those differences. Jews don't believe Jesus is the Messiah. Muslims see Jesus as a Prophet, like Abraham and Moses

Differences exists, but not to the point of what Sly was quoting; it's irrelevant because all three are believers in God/Allah/Yahweh, not non-believers
I still disagree. There certainly have the same start-point of Abraham. However, that doesn't mean they're the same God. Taking Christians, they literally believe Jesus Christ was God, while Muslims and Jews don't. This seems, to me, to be quite a big discrepancy.

With that in mind, I don't see how you can reasonably claim that the God of Christianity is ontologically identical to that of Islam or Judaism.
We believe Jesus is the Messiah. Jews believe the Messiah has not yet come. Muslims see Jesus as a Prophet of Allah. Same God, just a difference of who Jesus us. Hell, Jesus was a Jew and the first Christians were Jews who felt Jesus was the Messiah; it's essentially just a schism

Serious / Re: For those of you who resent the Japanese for Pearl Harbor...
« on: December 08, 2014, 08:43:29 AM »
Pearl Harbor was an unprovoked act of war against America.

No, they were provoked by America withholding oil and steel from the Japanese. It was either go to war or collapse from lack of resources.
No actually. 1940s Japan had a heavily imperialistic culture. They'd already assimilated most of China and the Philippines at that point, and set their gaze upon America since they were right across the Pacific. I don't know what revisionist history you've been reading into, but lack of resources they did not have. They just wanted to attack America because they thought American's as people were subhuman and weak, and because they could.

Now, whether or not US intelligence knew Pearl Harbour was going to happen or not is an entirely different discussion topic in and of itself, but it was most definitely and unprovoked act of aggression on Japan's behalf.
Partially correct here.

Japan had been Imperialistic really since the the 1860s with the creation of the Empire of Japan, but it was the 1930s that Japan became increasingly militaristic with the Great Depression, which led to the rise of the military having control over Hirohito and the government. But Japanese annexation began more or less with the takeover of Korea in 1910. Japan then turned to Chinese Manchuria in the 30s.

The Philippines was a U.S territory with a contingent if U.S troops on station. Japan invaded the island nation at the same exact time they launched the attack on Pearl Harbor. The ultimate motive of Japan was to create a Asian and Pacific empire and that would include U.S territories. So war was inevitable, embargo or not

But the earliest known of intelligence was created by Gen. Mitchell of the Army Air Corps who saw first hand of Japan's military preparations for an attack in the 1920s, a decade before any embargo. he predicted exact details of the attack

Either way, placing the blame on America is revisionist history and it's bullshit
