Pro tip that will save you one million pains in your ass: as soon as you get an item called ring of life protection wear that shit 24/7 and repair it as soon as you break it.

shit actually breaks in dark souls 2 but pretty rarely. You literally just pay to have it fixed.
But sadly I just googled where to get that ring and apparently they've removed all the early locations it spawns in SotFS
Dark souls 2 has a retarded mechanic where dying lowers your max health and the ring makes your death not count.
There's always the ring of binding that means hollowing only reduces you to 75% of your hp instead of 50%

What do you mean "Split Damage"?
I've been using the Gotthard Twinswords and they're badass.
On infused weapons, he means. Infusions hurt the weapons more than they help. Some remove scaling entirely and the ones that do give scaling are still nothing to write home about and on top of that you cant buff infured weapons like you could in DS2.

actually I was talking about weapons like the dancers enchanted swords that split there damage into multiple types ( magic, physical, and fire in this case)
The dancers swords (and other weapons that deal damage of multiple types) have to check the defense stats of EACH damage type it uses. This is why the dancers swords can look like they should do 400 damage but only hit for like 100

Theoretically the dancers blades should be way better than the twin swords you're using.
Like if you just look at base damages(no upgrades or scalings), gothards are doing 100 physical damage and dancers are doing 79 physical, 62 fire, and 62 magic. That should be over double the damage. But the dancers swords not only have to check the same physical defenses as the other sword, but also the targets magic and fire resist. So they do pitiful damage. There's quite a few weapons in the game like this including a ton of the boss weapons.
Why don't they patch that? Seems like a huge oversight.
